[ELARA'S POV]
Julian's wedding was on a Saturday in July.
Outdoor ceremony. Hotel garden. Two hundred guests. Beautiful and elegant and exactly what Emma wanted.
I was seven months pregnant. Massive. Uncomfortable in the heat. But I'd promised to be there so here I was.
Damian was best man. Nervous. Kept checking his speech cards. Making sure his tie was straight.
"You're going to be fine." I said. Adjusting his pocket square. "Just speak from the heart."
"What if I cry? I might cry."
"Then you cry. It's your brother's wedding. Crying is allowed."
"Men don't cry at weddings."
"Men absolutely cry at weddings. Especially when it's their brother."
He pulled me close. Careful of my stomach. "Have I told you lately that you're incredible?"
"Not in the last hour. I was starting to worry."
He kissed me. "You're incredible. Beautiful. Patient with my nervous rambling."
"That's what wives do. We tolerate nervous rambling and look pretty in uncomfortable dresses."
