Weeks earlier on the Dark Forest, Shin roamed looking for a specific monster he needed to kill.
And finally, after hours of tracking traces left by the target, he had found the gigantic serpent. His lips curled into a satisfied smile.
However, the beast was surprisingly fast for its size. It darted away quickly through the forest, chasing a lone girl.
Shin watched from the top of a very tall tree, near a structure, as the girl leaped over a dead monster bear with surprising agility, landing lightly before immediately accelerating again.
"Get back here, you oversized lizard!" she shouted.
The monster screeched and rushed toward her. The giant snake was a top predator, so it didn't pay much attention to its surroundings while hunting.
What would prove to be a gigantic mistake. The snake didn't notice as Shin disappeared, moving in its direction.
Everything happened in an instant. And with a precise strike, Shin carved his sword deep into the creature's skull.
