"What did you do to Austin?" Severine asked as the villa faded into the distance behind them.
The car navigated through the serene roads toward the academy as the cluster of trees zoomed past.
"Sent him back to his home," Killian replied smoothly, one hand casual on the steering wheel.
"I told your father that his son got into a reckless brawl with an Awakener, and that I, as a very responsible citizen, brought him back safely on the premise that the things shouldn't be left messy."
It was a simple way to say that Victor shouldn't make a fuss over it if he wanted his son to live as if nothing had happened.
Surely anyone who dared to be so reckless during that event was more than a businessman. And to think that Austin would be beaten up until his fang fell out was enough to show that person's strength.
It was already a blessing that Killian had helped his son out of trouble. Victor had thanked him on the call, not knowing the reality of events.
