Principal Vale leaned back slightly in her chair, one hand resting on the desk while the other held the receiver close to her ear. Her expression was calm, composed, the kind she wore when speaking to regional authorities.
"Lord Vegan, I understand," she said evenly. "Yes, our students this year are looking sharp. I believe it would be a worthy competition."
There was a brief pause on the other end before the Alpha responded, his tone carrying a weight of expectation.
"I'll trust your words. I really hope her highness delivers such a performance as she had hoped."
Principal Vale's brows creased immediately.
"Pardon me, West Regional Alpha," she said, straightening slightly. "What highness do we have in the senior class? Let alone in my school?"
There was a shift on the line.
"Excuse me, Principal Vale. What do you mean by that?"
