The pure focus he had thrown at her as he towered over there, looking down at her, had Adele unconsciously clenching her fists into her dress. But the moment she saw a spark of something mischievous and seemingly taunting in his eyes, she unclenched her fists. He was challenging her. It seemed like he still did not believe that she could do this. That was how she interpreted that look in his eyes.
A sudden urge to be stubborn and do the exact opposite of what he expects rose within her from somewhere she could not name, and before she could think better of it, she acted on it.
