After Emperor Gregustus delivered his speech and the ceremony leader ended the entire imperial ceremony procession, everyone on the stage sat down again.
"Well, we will enjoy the military parade show. You must be impatient to see Graganthurion, right?" said Grelmure.
"I still cannot imagine that giant robot walking here. Is this road strong enough to support it, Sir Grelmure?"
"No need to worry about that, Johann. This road has been passed by that giant many times every year."
I just nodded. It could be said this road was very strong because it was built carefully by those intelligent Grivendal engineers. If that giant robot walked on the roads of my hometown, it would certainly be crushed leaving its footprints.
The first parade I saw was a formation of platoons of regular soldiers marching while carrying the same weapon and saluting all the guests on the stage. That was followed by troops holding other weapons in each platoon formation. Instrumental music played typical songs of the Grivendal empire during the parade.
After that, a procession of various combat vehicles passed the stage. I had seen all of them at the central military complex including the bipedal robots.
From the sky, many shuttles were seen which then formed formations and performed impressive aerial maneuvers. Some spectators on the stage cheered and applauded.
Suddenly, I felt a small vibration as if something very large was stepping.
Ooohhh... the moment I had been waiting for had arrived.
I stood up from my seat and peeked towards the left side of the road. From a distance, three Graganthurion robots were seen walking along that road. As they got closer I could see the robots were dressed in bright blue cloak and golden mantle. They all carried their giant weapons as well. Almost all spectators including me cheered and applauded again when Graganthurion passed us.
I glanced at Hellraider, I observed that since earlier he only sat upright while crossing both arms on his chest and his gaze remained focused forward.
I thought Hellraider enjoyed this event in his own way. I didn't invite him to comment about the parade.
After the imperial ceremony and military parade were completed, Grelmure invited all of us to the go-kart parking area earlier. Where would we go next?
"We will now go to the city hall to enjoy the people's festival. This will be held until tomorrow. You can freely enjoy the entertainment there." said Grelmure.
I briefly saw Gruzhnil who had just come down from the stage and approached us.
"I will have a meeting first with the other commanders. If Sir Hellraider wants to return home, Grelmure will take you later. You can enjoy the people's festival now." said Gruzhnil.
I glanced at Hellraider, he seemed to remain silent. Maybe he wanted to go home immediately from this event.
We arrived at the parking area and immediately got into the go-kart. Sherubiel held Mendicore on the front seat, I and Hellraider sat on the back seat.
Grelmure drove to the city center where the hall was located. I saw many people walking in the same direction. After some time, we arrived. I felt welcomed by a sea of Grivendal people filling the city hall area. I, Sherubiel along with Mendicore got off the go-kart. Many people immediately focused their attention on us.
However, unexpectedly, Hellraider also got off. I was a bit surprised because if he wanted to return home, he should have just stayed seated. Grelmure also seemed confused by Hellraider's behavior.
"Sir, do you not want to go home? Or do you want to join to see this people's festival?" I asked to make sure.
Hellraider looked at all of us.
"Up to me..."
For a moment I was silent hearing his answer. He really could not be predicted what he would do. But from his gesture, Hellraider would join to see this festival event. For me, that was very unusual for someone like him.
"Alright sir. If later you want to go home, we will meet at this point again. Mendicore will inform me and contact Sir Grelmure." I said while smiling.
"Hold this, Johann! If you want me to pick you up, contact through this." said Grelmure while giving me a device like a walkie-talkie.
I thanked him and Grelmure left us to enjoy the whole day.
Hellraider turned his body and walked towards the city park located across the hall. People in front of him immediately gave way and distance. I thought they were very astonished why Hellraider could wear commander armor and walk alone among the crowd.
Of course they would not surround Hellraider like a celebrity. They would feel intimidated being near him even though they knew his feats that had spread widely.
In that city park there was an open building consisting of 3 floors and it seemed to function as a place to sit casually. I thought maybe Hellraider would sit again on the top floor while observing the course of the people's festival.
I then invited Mendicore and Sherubiel to watch the people's parade which would be held shortly on the road. During the trip earlier, I saw many people preparing decorations on the parade vehicles.
After some time passed, the vehicle parade began. Large vehicles each decorated in such colorful striking ways with several people on top of them. They also wore very flashy costumes and performed various kinds of attractions from safe ones to those that had to be performed by experienced people only. I had watched a video about one of the biggest people's festival events in my world and this was similar to it.
After the vehicle parade finished, suddenly we were approached by a woman. She introduced herself as one of the event committee while showing her identity card.
"Excuse me beforehand, are you two named Sherubiel and Mendicore? I want to ask whether you are willing to become one of the participants in the talent show later? I sincerely apologize for saying this very suddenly. However the chief committee asked me to offer it first. If you are not willing that is not a problem. We don't force you."
Sherubiel and Mendicore fell silent whether they would accept the offer or not. Especially Sherubiel's shy nature. I could feel their confusion about what talent they had to show.
"Just accept the offer... You can show flying attraction with your wings and also your portal ability exactly like my training yesterday, right?" I said with a convincing smile.
"Eehhh o-okay Johann... Maybe this can train me not to be shy anymore..." said Sherubiel with slightly reddened cheeks.
"Alright we agree." said Mendicore.
The woman smiled happily. She said the event would be held in about 1 hour so Sherubiel and Mendicore could prepare first. She directed us to the large stage in the west direction.
Suddenly my stomach growled. I didn't have breakfast because I was too excited to join this celebration event. I overheard people saying that many food shops were giving half-price discounts especially for today.
"I want to eat first for a moment. You just go ahead first. I will immediately follow there after I finish eating." I said to Sherubiel and Mendicore.
I looked for a food shop for late breakfast. Actually the food here was not much different from the foods popular in my world. Then I chose a restaurant that sold fast food with their own styles like burgers, fries, fried chicken, pizza and various drinks.
Fortunately the restaurant was not crowded and included those giving half-price discounts as well. When I entered, I sat at the bar table and started ordering food. I wanted to eat a burger, fries and a drink that looked like root beer.
While I was waiting for the food and looking around the restaurant, suddenly there was someone sitting alone at the farthest corner row of the restaurant seats. I was shocked when I saw who that person was.
None other than Hellraider himself.
Why did he like to move places suddenly? I saw he just sat silently while looking at the outside environment through the glass without any food at all. I felt the waiters in this restaurant were very reluctant to approach Hellraider just to ask for his order.
Suddenly I remembered in The Mayhem gameplay there was a small detail at his base where a bitten burger plate and a bottle of cola that had been drunk were seen. Many fans said that Hellraider still ate like a normal human and they are his favorite.
I immediately ordered another plate of burger and cola drink to the waiter. When both the burger and drink arrived, I brought one of that to Hellraider's table. When I arrived, Hellraider immediately glanced at me.
"Sorry sir, if I suddenly came directly to you. I just want to give this. No need to worry because I will pay for it. I remember from the game that you like this food. It's not a problem if you don't remember it." I said while placing the burger and a glass of cola on his table.
Hellraider didn't say a single word and kept looking at me. I returned to my seat at the bar and started eating my food.
In the middle of eating, I tried to glance towards Hellraider's table. I could briefly see Hellraider eating his burger and drinking the cola. I smiled and felt happy inside.
After finishing eating and paying for all the food, I planned to go directly to the stage directed earlier. When walking to the exit door, I glanced once again at Hellraider's table and it turned out the burger and cola were completely finished without leftovers.
He looked at me again. I gave a smile back and walked out of the restaurant.
