I tried to inhale as much air as possible in this grass field so that it could provide freshness to my body and mind.
"Let's start the training!" said Mendicore enthusiastically.
After inhaling enough, I began holding the Bous Ball and tried to throw it to one target point. I threw it and a few seconds later I immediately moved places very quickly, exactly like when in that abandoned fortress.
However I felt heavy dizziness again, my vision swayed and spun uncontrollably. I immediately fell into a crawling position and immediately vomited part of my breakfast.
Why did the side effects I felt become heavier since my first trial? Was it because this was not in the realm of terror?
Mendicore and Sherubiel immediately approached me. Sherubiel helped me change position into sitting on the grass. I was still breathing quite fast while closing my eyes.
"It seems you must train your visual focus on the destination point, Johann. The shift of vision from one place to another very quickly can temporarily disturb the balance function in your head..." said Mendicore.
"Try after this, when you throw that sphere, you close your eyes while learning to maintain your body posture. If your posture is already stable, then continue training your visual focus." Mendicore suggested.
Sherubiel gave me a drink bottle and I drank a little of it.
After I calmed down and my spinning dizziness had subsided, I stood up and prepared to train again. Now I tried Mendicore's suggestion earlier. When I felt my body move, I was slightly unsteady but immediately corrected and stabilized my posture. However this time my spinning dizziness only lasted briefly.
I kept training my teleportation posture until I felt I could master it. After that I tried training with eyes open and now focused on my destination point. When trying for the first time it turned out my spinning dizziness felt minimal and could subside quickly. I was very happy to be able to master it relatively quickly.
I continued my training until with every throw, my body posture before and after teleporting became more stable.
"Whooaaa... finally Johann can master Bous very quickly tooooo... I also want to be able to teleport like you..." said Sherubiel in an amazed tone.
"Do you want to try it too, Sherubiel? I will lend this to you."
"Eeehhh... no-no Johaannn... I was just joking..." replied Sherubiel while scratching her head.
"Now I will test your overall teleportation ability. Try to catch me. I will move quickly with my portal. If you succeed in holding me, we will end this session. Ready, Johann???" challenged Mendicore.
"Who's afraid, I accept the challenge." I said with a confident smile.
Mendicore then flew away from me several meters. I then took a stance to throw the Bous sphere towards Mendicore.
I threw slightly tilted to the left to trick Mendicore where I swung the sphere to the right. But when I arrived, it turned out Mendicore had already come out from his small portal which was far from my right side.
"I know you use that usual trick to deceive me, right? Try to be more creative, Johann..." said Mendicore in a slightly mocking tone.
"Aaahhh... you can joke now too, Mendicore. This time I will be serious until I can catch you!" I said with a challenging smile.
"Come on Johaannn... defeat Mendicore as soon as possibleee...!!!" shouted Sherubiel encouraging me.
I then took another stance to focus throwing the sphere exactly towards Mendicore teleporting. This was indeed not easy because the Bous Ball had a few seconds delay while Mendicore could summon portals instantly.
Let alone almost reaching Mendicore, I always failed to approach it because it moved so fast instantly. I observed Mendicore's teleportation distance was quite close, around just more than 1 meter. Could it be because it created portals instantly, the distance also became shorter?
I understood why using the usual trick didn't work. I had to be able to read its movements. I kept throwing the Bous Ball towards Mendicore while observing the right moment where I could predict its teleportation direction.
At the right moment according to my instinct, I threw to one point and Mendicore with its reflex also teleported towards the point I locked. When he arrived, I had already arrived a fraction of a second earlier and immediately held its disc body.
Mendicore immediately froze still, I also stayed still while my hand kept holding him. I smiled widely because I succeeded in winning this game.
But suddenly, Mendicore's disc body quickly dispersed into yellow light dust. I was immediately shocked.
"Whaaat...??? So during the game I was only chasing Mendicore's illusionnn...???" I shouted in my mind.
I immediately turned my body towards Sherubiel to ask where Mendicore was. But from behind Sherubiel, it suddenly appeared in front of me.
"I'm truly impressed you can master the Bous Ball in just one day, Johann! For me that is enough to survive in almost any situation. Congratulations you passed the final test!" said Mendicore calmly.
I closed my eyes, took a deep breath and dropped my body onto the grass field accompanied by the gentle breeze. I looked up at the sky which looked bright blue with moving clouds so it was not too hot.
I already suspected that Mendicore itself, as the most powerful artificial intelligence tool, would use that trick so I would not truly win. But the most important thing was I could already master the Bous Ball.
Suddenly Sherubiel lay down on the grass beside my left side. So did Mendicore on my right side. I smiled again seeing their behavior which became more similar to humans.
"Is the scenery in High Heaven as beautiful as this?" I asked.
"I will be honest to you, Johann. High Heaven is only a realm with buildings like white temples above the clouds and golden yellow light everywhere. Indeed if humans enter there it will feel amazing. But for us, the scenery on planet Grivendal gives its own beauty. Do you agree with me, Mendicore?" said Sherubiel.
"Yes. However actually behind that the reason is each of us always imagines how we can live in another place. It could be that people here long that after death they live forever in High Heaven because what people in the past described is the highest and most beautiful place..."
"And the reason you can say that is because you are no longer allowed to set foot there, right?" Mendicore continued.
"Aahhh... you are not fun to joke with, Mendicore..." said Sherubiel slightly pouting.
I also laughed hearing it. Of course Mendicore was not an entity that could joke because of its inherent nature.
For some time, we lay on the grass field until I almost fell asleep.
Suddenly, my stomach started growling quite loudly which could be heard by Sherubiel and Mendicore.
"Let's go home and cook together again, Johann!" said Sherubiel immediately getting up.
I nodded and immediately got up too. Mendicore automatically created a portal to our house yard.
After coming out, we were surprised by the sight of a go-kart parked and...
Glynpatra and Gruzhnil who were sitting on the porch bench chatting as if they had been waiting for us for quite a long time.
Glynpatra immediately stood up and showed an elating face when we arrived, as did Gruzhnil. I immediately ran a little towards them.
"Forgive us Princess and Commander for making you wait for us too long. I should have informed first before we all left..." I said with a slightly guilty tone.
"Johann... no need to be that stiff. Instead we should apologize for disturbing your leisure time. I only wanted to give a surprise visit because I had promised to visit you three. Besides we did not wait too long here." said Glynpatra while smiling.
"We also brought food that has been made by the palace chef. Princess Glynpatra wants us all to have lunch together." said Gruzhnil while pointing to the food container which was quite large and stacked five boxes.
"T-Thank you very much for your time and the food, Princess and Commander." said Sherubiel.
We began to enjoy the dishes brought from the palace in our dining room. But in the middle while chewing the food, I suddenly felt there was one thing that should be here...
I actually wanted Hellraider to be able to sit with us here while having lunch together.
"Oh yes... I have an interesting story before we arrived here..." said Gruzhnil after swallowing his food.
I, Sherubiel and Mendicore immediately looked at him. Meanwhile Glynpatra covered her mouth and immediately turned her gaze away from Gruzhnil.
I guessed this interesting story was closely related to Glynpatra.
"We went to Sir Hellraider's house first to deliver a food box to him as well. Suddenly Princess Glynpatra wanted to give it directly to him. When he opened the door and saw the Princess, he immediately took it and closed the door again without saying a single word. When Princess Glynpatra turned her body, her face immediately turned red. Then she ran towards me and lightly punched my chest while shouting softly. I only smiled but laughed in my mind, hahaha...." said Gruzhnil while laughing.
"Uncleee... don't laugh at it like thattt...!!! I'm embarrassed in front of themmmm...!!!" said Glynpatra while her face turned red again, covering her face with both arms and shaking her head.
I and Sherubiel also laughed hearing Glynpatra's funny story who became awkward after interacting with Hellraider. I'm sure she had feelings for him.
But I still hoped another time Hellraider could join eating together like this.
"Commander, I want to ask you. Tomorrow is the anniversary celebration day of the Grivendal empire. Will you invite Sir Hellraider to come as well?" I said trying to confirm.
Gruzhnil seemed to think for a moment. Glynpatra looked at him full of hope, as if she wanted Hellraider to attend the celebration too.
"It seems for now Sir Hellraider can be invited to a crowded area, although indeed he will be different from others. I will try to invite him." said Gruzhnil.
I was very happy to hear it. In my opinion Hellraider still deserves the chance to mingle with others. I hoped his humanity which had once been lost would quickly recover again.
