Chapter 103 - Chapter 103: Gravity Training

The first half month of training had come to an end.

Thanks to the special training environment of the glacier falls.

Ditto's stamina and willpower had improved significantly. Even three months at the Ecruteak Gym had not produced improvement as fast as this half month.

Haunter's psychic power had also progressed at a clearly visible rate. Ever since absorbing Ninetales' vitality, it had gained powerful psychic capabilities.

Moreover, psychic power combined with Night Shade had become its signature defensive move. Now it could even defend against the powerful current of the glacier falls. For some ordinary moves, Haunter could simply ignore them.

Under the coordination of psychic power, the transitions between Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, and Dark Pulse had already become extremely fluid for its level . Even adding Clear Smog and Will-O-Wisp posed no problem at all!

The only regret was that without psychic power assistance, the coordination of the three moves that had originally been trained showed no obvious improvement. This was probably the gap between a psychic Elite Four and the Champion level. It seemed like only one step, yet it was as distant as the horizon…

Swinub's progress naturally benefited from Pryce's training guide, the uniquely advantageous special training environment, and most importantly, the large quantity of Pokéfood provided by Sheila.

Without such financial support, all the special training plans and training environments would have been nothing more than empty talk. Now Swinub could already walk sideways in the forest in front of the glacier falls.

Icicle Spear, Powder Snow, and Freeze-Dry were already used very proficiently. Its use of Icicle Crash was not as fluid as Pryce's Swinub… obviously.

Pryce's Swinub could use Icicle Crash to seal off, to pursue, to attack, and could be said to control it at will. But now his own Swinub's Icicle Crash could only fall in a fixed direction.

The next half month needed to focus entirely on physical conditioning training!

---◓---

The first day of training began like this. Ditto transformed into Rapidash, while Swinub and Haunter had already gathered in front of Tetsuya.

"Today you will meet a new friend."

After speaking, Tetsuya took out Probopass.

"Probopass, now use Gravity on these three!"

Probopass was purely here on assignment. Before coming, Pryce had already instructed it that it could only obey Tetsuya's command to use the move Gravity.

After Tetsuya spoke, the three Mini-Nose attached to Probopass hovered above the three Pokémon respectively.

Gravity was just activated.

Haunter immediately fell to the ground, its body somewhat distorted from the pressure. Swinub and Ditto both felt as if a thousand pounds of weight were pressing down on them. It seemed as if their limbs were about to be crushed, and they trembled incessantly.

"Oh~ This is the effect of Gravity. For the next half month, your eating and sleeping will all be in this state, including your current physical conditioning training. Move forward!"

After Tetsuya finished speaking, the three Pokémon finally understood the purpose of Probopass's appearance.

Ditto took the first step with difficulty, slowly adapting to this state. Each step required mobilizing the strength of its entire body to move forward. Although it was slow, it was not completely unable to lift its feet.

Gradually, Ditto had already moved several steps forward.

With Ditto setting an example, Swinub also began to move slowly. Haunter was in an awkward position. With the Levitate Ability, it had never moved on the ground before. Now under the effect of Gravity, it could only scrape along the ground to move forward.

Probopass used the move Gravity in a very relaxed manner. It did not consume much of its energy, and this Pokémon fed on magnetic force, being able to draw it directly from rocks. It seemed that this Probopass had been specially trained by Pryce to assist in Pokémon training.

Walking back and forth along the riverbank, what originally required only one hour now took a full three hours, and each of them was already exhausted. Except for Haunter, which went off to forage freely, Ditto and Swinub ate under the effect of Gravity. Ditto directly drank Moomoo Milk, which was slightly easier, but Swinub had a harder time. Each chew was a struggle against Gravity, and it also ate a large amount.

Before noon, they made another round along the riverbank and once again replenished their stamina with food.

In the afternoon beneath the glacier falls, with the effect of Gravity applied, the three, already feeling as if they were carrying a thousand pounds, found the impact of the water flow even more suffocating. Although Haunter still resisted with psychic force combined with Night Shade, the demand on its psychic power was even higher.

At dinner time, Sheila would always bring over Farfetch'd soup on time. After drinking such a nourishing soup, a day's fatigue would vanish completely, and no aftereffects of overtraining would remain. It was also of great benefit in enhancing stamina!

In the cave within the glacier falls, Tetsuya directly moved a large amount of food inside. The sleep of the three Pokémon was tormented by Probopass's Gravity, and only when Probopass rested could the three obtain slight relief.

Day after day, this kind of training continued…

The three Pokémon gradually adapted to the effect of Gravity. Their strength had already improved greatly without them even noticing. Although they could not move as freely as before without the effect of Gravity, compared to the first day of training they were already much stronger!

This kind of training did not change for half a month. Sheila was also busy every day. The cabin storing Pokéfood was replenished daily. After Swinub's appetite reached a peak, it gradually began to decline. A few days after half a month, Swinub's appetite returned to normal.

After half a month, the three Pokémon had completely adapted to the effect of Gravity. Without careful observation, their movements were no different from normal exercise.

Under Tetsuya's insistence, Probopass was kept for another three days to consolidate the three Pokémon's training under Gravity.

There was no longer any need to persist. Perhaps the effect of this Probopass's Gravity could only reach this level… but after all it had been raised by Pryce, and its capability could not be poor!

The Gravity training had come to an end. Continuing further would not bring any improvement.

Probopass had acted as a sparring partner for the three Pokémon for eighteen days and was retrieved by Sheila to be returned to Pryce.

That evening, Sheila took Tetsuya back to her home for an extra meal. Tetsuya had originally intended to test the results of the three Pokémon's half month of training, but after more than half a month with their nerves constantly in a tense state, it was also necessary to relax slightly.

Moreover, testing the results could not possibly be completed in just one day.

Along the way, suddenly without the effect of Gravity, the movements of the three Pokémon changed greatly. The running Ditto and Swinub had the feeling of flying, while Haunter's movement had become like a streak of Thunder.

Overall, their speed had all improved tremendously!
