~LUCIAN'S POV
I stayed close to the bed, my eyes fixed on Dove's unmoving body while the physician worked— if what he was doing could be considered working.
His hands moved, but there was hesitation in every motion, something restrained that didn't belong here.
"Why is she not stabilizing?" I demanded, my voice cutting through the room.
The physician didn't answer, his focus still on her, his movements continuing in a way that only made the frustration build.
"You said she lost blood," I continued, stepping closer, my patience thinning fast. "Then stop it. Do something."
"My lord, I—"
"What is slowing you down?" I cut in, not giving him the space to form excuses.
His movements faltered, and that was enough.
I closed the distance between us, forcing him to face me, my presence pressing into him until he had no choice but to respond.
"What are you not saying?" I asked, my voice lower now, carrying something far less forgiving.
