The group continued deeper into the forest.
After leaving the area surrounded by Silver Birches, the landscape slowly began to change. The thin white trunks disappeared behind them, replaced by tall Winter Spruce that stood much closer together.
Their branches carried layers of snow, and the weight caused some of them to bend slightly toward the ground. Whenever the wind passed through the forest, the branches moved against one another with a low rustling sound.
Snow continued falling from the sky.
It wasn't heavy, but the steady stream of white flakes had already covered most of their previous footprints.
The sun was also beginning to descend.
The light between the trees had become weaker, and the shadows cast by the Winter Spruce stretched farther across the snow.
Jeremy looked toward the fading sunlight before checking the map in his hand.
"We should camp here for today."
He stopped walking and looked around the area.
