She still stood near the window, though the light had changed, dawn now filtering through the blinds in pale gold ribbons that stretched across the room and settled over her in fractured, luminous patterns. It traced the elegant line of her shoulders, the subtle curve of her bare legs beneath the oversized shirt she still wore, his shirt, its fabric hanging loosely from her frame, brushing softly against her thighs with every subtle shift of her breath. His scent clung to it stubbornly, refusing to fade, as though even time itself was unwilling to separate what had been bound so fiercely the night before beneath the full moon's indifferent gaze.
