Chapter 425 - Chapter 425: You Can Make It Happen Now (EC)

Strange as it was, Lucian and Luke had only met once, even though they had fought side by side.

Yet seeing Luke now felt like reuniting with an old friend. Ripples stirred within Lucian's usually tranquil heart.

After so long apart, Lucian noticed that the prince had grown considerably taller. He also carried himself with greater composure and maturity.

"This isn't a good place to talk. Let's get out of here first," Luke said with a smile.

"Right."

Lucian nodded.

The group soon returned to the Buhru Temple.

The moment he sat down, Lucian felt his body and mind relax. A month of sailing across the sea had left him thoroughly exhausted.

After taking a sip of tea, Lucian spoke first.

"Your Highness, did you come directly to Bilgewater after reading the letter I sent you?"

"That's right." Luke nodded slightly. "There were many things that couldn't be properly discussed through letters. Besides, dealing with the Harrowing was already part of my plans."

"We may have just missed each other. I arrived in Bilgewater a month ago, then immediately set sail again."

Lucian sighed softly.

Communicating through letters was indeed inconvenient.

Even the special crystals used by the Sentinels of Light could only sense one another within a limited range.

Luke looked at Lucian.

"Did you sail directly in search of the Shadow Isles?"

"That was my original intention." Lucian nodded. "But after searching for an entire month, I found nothing."

Illaoi, who had remained silent for a long time, spoke.

"How much do you know about the Shadow Isles?"

Everyone had introduced themselves on the way back.

Illaoi had also sensed the extraordinary strength of Lucian's soul.

Nagakabouros often favored people like him, whose souls possessed exceptionally unusual spiritual fields.

Sarah was also deeply interested in the answer. She could tell that Lucian's identity was probably far from ordinary.

"I don't think there's any need to hide it anymore."

Lucian organized his thoughts before speaking slowly.

"My true identity is that of a Sentinel of Light. Since ancient times, the Sentinels have existed to fight evil forces, primarily the Black Mist released by the Shadow Isles. People later came to call the arrival of that mist the Harrowing."

"Sentinels of Light..."

Illaoi quietly repeated the name as several memories surfaced in her mind.

The records of the Buhru Temple did not explicitly mention the Sentinels of Light, but they did describe a group that fought against the forces of darkness.

They wielded special weapons to punish evil.

In retrospect, those people must have been Sentinels like Lucian.

Sarah was hearing all of this for the first time and found it quite fascinating.

"You said they've existed since ancient times. How old are the Sentinels of Light? And what about the Shadow Isles?"

"The histories of the Sentinels and the Shadow Isles go back more than a thousand years. I learned most of it from our records. The earliest accounts can be traced to a place once known as the Blessed Isles," Lucian answered.

"The Blessed Isles!"

Illaoi's eyes sharpened.

"I thought they were only a legend. The Buhru records speak of a sacred land called the Blessed Isles. Supposedly, it was the source of many forms of magic and possessed countless supreme treasures."

"That's right. The Sentinels of Light were founded by people who came from the Blessed Isles." Lucian nodded again.

"Then what are the Shadow Isles?" Sarah asked in confusion.

"The Shadow Isles are what the Blessed Isles later became."

Lucian's voice grew heavy as he opened the pages of ancient history.

"The records of the Sentinels do not explain precisely why, but a great catastrophe once occurred on the Blessed Isles. That disaster cursed the entire archipelago and produced an endless expanse of Black Mist. Ordinary people cannot approach it, and even Sentinels cannot easily reach the islands."

He paused briefly.

"That is the source of the Harrowing's curse."

Illaoi raised her head and looked at him.

"If that is true, why did you dare go there alone?"

"Because I had no choice."

A bitter smile briefly crossed Lucian's face. After considering it, he decided not to conceal anything.

"I suspect that a wraith I have been hunting is hiding somewhere on the Shadow Isles. The second reason is that I have recently sensed increasing instability within the Black Mist. I have a feeling that something terrible is about to happen.

"Even the records of the Sentinels warn us never to approach the Shadow Isles carelessly. But if no one ever approaches them, we will never eliminate the source. If the day comes when we can no longer repel the Black Mist, it may already be too late to do anything."

Everyone present had personally experienced the Black Mist.

They understood how terrifying it was.

With only a little imagination, they could envision the disaster that would occur if the mist escaped all control and spread across the entire world.

The three of them admired Lucian's courage and fell into thoughtful silence.

Luke asked, "You went searching for the Shadow Isles but found nothing at all?"

"That's right. I sailed until every resource aboard my ship was exhausted, yet I never saw even a shadow of the islands."

Lucian sighed.

"I suspect the islands conceal themselves through the Black Mist and can only be located through a special method. Otherwise..."

"Otherwise?" Luke prompted.

"Otherwise, we must wait for them to reveal themselves. During the Harrowing each year, the Shadow Isles are certain to emerge."

Lucian sighed again after speaking.

"But we might not have much time left."

"What makes you say that?" Luke asked.

"I didn't find the Shadow Isles, but I landed on another island during my journey. Around a hundred families of fishermen lived there. At first, everything seemed perfectly normal, until night fell."

Lucian began recounting what had happened.

Everyone turned toward him and listened carefully.

As he remembered the scene, a trace of pain entered Lucian's eyes.

"Under the moonlight, their bodies became translucent and began emitting a ghostly glow, just like most wraiths I have encountered. None of them seemed to notice anything unusual. They interacted as though they were still alive, and during the day, they had genuinely seemed alive to me.

"After investigating carefully, I discovered that the entire island had already been cursed by the Black Mist. Unlike the temporary effects of the Harrowing, the corruption there had become permanent."

The temple hall fell silent.

Even Sarah, who had only recently begun learning more about the Harrowing, the Black Mist, and the Shadow Isles, felt a chill from Lucian's account.

She had survived the Harrowing before.

Those who died during it became wraiths.

However, when the Harrowing receded, those wraiths were carried away along with the Black Mist.

The fishing village Lucian described had not been affected during an active Harrowing, yet the fishermen who had become wraiths had remained there even after the mist departed.

That indicated only one possibility.

"Every sign surrounding the Black Mist has become extremely abnormal," Lucian said, voicing his conclusion. "It is no longer behaving the way we once understood it.

"It has already begun spreading beyond the Shadow Isles. I have a terrible feeling that this year, it may return in a form unlike anything we have ever witnessed."

"I see."

Luke rubbed his temples.

He had known he had chosen the right person.

Lucian was proving exceptionally competent as someone who delivered progress reports.

More importantly, his words revealed something vital.

They might genuinely be running out of time.

Illaoi's expression also became grave.

Even she found the Black Mist difficult to handle.

If it became stronger than ever before, there was no telling what might happen.

As the Truth Bearer, stopping the Harrowing was one of the purposes for which she had been born.

Sarah had not expected that immediately after dealing with Gangplank, she would need to prepare for something far more dangerous.

After everything she had just learned, Gangplank was utterly insignificant compared to the Harrowing.

"The Harrowing normally resurges between September and October," Lucian continued. "That is when the Shadow Isles emerge and release Black Mist across the sea."

"No matter what happens, we cannot allow it to keep spreading," Illaoi said solemnly. "We must find a way to end this completely."

"I agree," Luke said.

"I was already preparing to gather every remaining Sentinel of Light. When the Shadow Isles appear again, we can attack them directly and see whether we can eliminate the source once and for all."

Lucian's expression was resolute.

"How many Sentinels of Light still remain?" Luke asked curiously.

"Probably not many. The Sentinels have outposts scattered throughout Runeterra, and their members serve different roles. Those capable of fighting probably number little more than a dozen."

Lucian sounded helpless.

"That few?" Sarah blurted out.

Illaoi shared her surprise.

"The Sentinels are relatively weak now. That is why I contacted Your Highness. Still, seeing that others share our goal puts me somewhat at ease."

Lucian glanced at Illaoi.

He could naturally sense that the Truth Bearer before him was extremely powerful. Even while seated, she radiated the steady presence of a mountain.

In other words, she made those around her feel safe.

With her assistance, fighting the Black Mist should become considerably easier.

After thinking it over, Sarah spoke as well.

"Tell me if there's anything I can do to help."

She had no desire to overthrow Gangplank, enjoy only a few days of triumph, then be swallowed by that sinister Black Mist.

"An ordinary person would have no chance against the Shadow Isles."

Lucian looked at Sarah, aware that she was merely an ordinary human.

She might be exceptionally capable by Bilgewater's standards, but she remained far too weak to fight powerful wraiths.

Sarah was displeased, but ultimately remained silent.

She had experienced the Harrowing and knew how troublesome those damned spirits could be.

And she had never even encountered the strongest among them.

Luke glanced at her and offered an idea.

"But if she became a Sentinel of Light, she would possess the power to fight the undead."

Sarah's eyes lit up.

"How does someone become a Sentinel of Light?"

"In the past, becoming a Sentinel required inheritance. An older Sentinel would pass down their mantle and weapons to an apprentice, generation after generation.

"Later, when that tradition risked dying out, the Sentinels created assessments to select new members. Those with the necessary qualifications could also become Sentinels. However, the selection process is extraordinarily strict. Perhaps only one person in a hundred thousand, or even a million, would qualify.

"I suspect that is one reason the strength of the Sentinels has continued declining."

Lucian explained the process.

Sarah nodded thoughtfully.

"Have you ever considered lowering the requirements for becoming a Sentinel?" Luke asked.

"That isn't really something I'm responsible for," Lucian answered.

His duty was to fight the undead. Other people handled the selection of new Sentinels.

"Then perhaps it's time you started thinking about it."

Luke looked at him.

"A handful of Sentinels will never be enough to fight the Shadow Isles. After meeting you, I began considering the possibility of expanding the Sentinels of Light and making effective use of their weapons against the Shadow Isles."

Lucian paused.

"I doubt many people would agree."

"They no longer have the luxury of refusing."

Luke smiled and patted Lucian on the shoulder.

"Lucian, I always knew you had potential. How would you feel about becoming the leader of the Sentinels of Light?"

"Lucian..."

He paused again.

How could he fail to understand Luke's intention?

Luke was a prince.

If Demacia decided to intervene in the affairs of the Sentinels as a nation, the organization would probably be powerless to stop it.

"Do you genuinely believe that the traditions causing the Sentinels to disappear are correct?" Luke asked.

"Well..."

Lucian considered the question.

"I believe Your Highness makes a reasonable argument."

Although Lucian's father had been a Sentinel of Light, Lucian himself had joined only later in life.

His father had not chosen him as his successor. Instead, he had selected a girl named Senna.

After an unexpected incident, Lucian met Senna and eventually joined the Sentinels as well. The two later fell in love, only to be separated forever by a wraith.

For that reason, Lucian felt little attachment to traditions that had been passed down through countless generations.

Those rules did not hold much power over him now.

When he considered the matter carefully, increasing the number of Sentinels would naturally allow them to fight the Black Mist more effectively.

"Exactly. The world has to change. If the Black Mist sweeps across everything and destroys us all, none of those traditions will retain any meaning."

Luke was pleased with Lucian's answer.

"Even if the Sentinels wanted to expand, however, there is a limit to how many people we could equip," Lucian explained. "Our resources are scarce. The weapons used against wraiths require Relic Stone, and there isn't enough for everyone. Supposedly, it was a mineral found only on the Blessed Isles. The reserves at Sentinel headquarters are probably running low."

"They can't simply leave everything gathering dust in a warehouse, can they?"

Luke was certain that Sentinel headquarters had kept a few valuable things hidden away.

"In that case, we'll only select the very best of the best. Someone like her."

Luke gestured toward Sarah.

Sarah paused slightly.

She had not expected Luke to regard her as one of the best of the best.

After considering it, she immediately nodded.

"That's right. I consider myself quite capable."

"Miss Fortune is certainly strong. In my opinion, she possesses the qualifications to become a Sentinel."

Lucian fell into thought.

He was not some stubborn relic clinging to the past.

Finding powerful people and turning them into Sentinels so they could fight the Black Mist together was obviously a good idea.

"When the time comes, we can form our own unit of Sentinels of Light."

Luke had practically revealed his entire plan.

From the very beginning, he had intended to create a team of Sentinels.

Only elites would be selected.

And Luke already had a long list of elites in mind.

"That is indeed a good plan." Lucian nodded in agreement.

"Then it's settled. We are going to attack the Shadow Isles. I refuse to allow them to continue acting so arrogantly."

Luke delivered the final conclusion of their meeting.

"We'll split up and search for more allies. I'll also need you to handle matters with the Sentinels of Light.

"Here on the Blue Flame Isles, I'll build a Hexgate. That will save us a considerable amount of time.

"It's currently early April, which gives us five months to prepare."

He glanced at Illaoi.

Illaoi nodded.

"I will assist with the construction of the Hexgate and observe any changes surrounding the Shadow Isles."

"Leave the Sentinels to me," Lucian said with a nod.

He saw no reason to hesitate.

Everyone present shared the same goal of fighting the Shadow Isles.

Five months was enough time to accomplish a great deal.

Sarah watched Luke make the decision, and her eyes flickered slightly.

Did that mean he would soon be leaving Bilgewater?

Their discussion had essentially reached its conclusion. The plan to fight the Shadow Isles had been settled.

Lucian had spent a long time traveling across the sea and was already extremely tired.

Illaoi arranged a room for him within the temple, and he soon retired to rest.

Sarah had no desire to remain there any longer, so she left the temple with Luke and Yurna.

By then, the chaos in Bilgewater had gradually begun to subside.

The shock caused by Gangplank's death had not passed, but the situation had become relatively stable.

Many captains had intervened, creating a fragile balance that reduced the fighting.

Even so, it would not be an exaggeration to say that rivers of blood had flowed through Bilgewater that night.

As they walked, Luke looked at the silent Sarah beside him.

"What do you plan to do next?"

"Me?"

Sarah raised her head slightly and looked ahead.

"After hearing about the Shadow Isles, everything happening on the Blue Flame Isles suddenly feels insignificant. But I still intend to take control of this place. It has always been my greatest goal."

"That sounds good," Luke said with a smile. "Didn't Illaoi say she would have several veteran captains publicly support you?"

Sarah did not seem particularly concerned about that.

She raised her eyes toward Luke.

"What about you? Are you leaving the Blue Flame Isles soon?"

"Probably."

Luke nodded. When he noticed the trace of disappointment in Sarah's eyes, he added, "I won't leave within the next two days. At the very least, I'll stay until you formally become the ruler of the Blue Flame Isles."

Sarah fell silent and lowered her gaze toward the road ahead.

She knew that Luke's departure was inevitable.

Suddenly, becoming Bilgewater's pirate queen no longer seemed quite as appealing.

When she thought about it carefully, Luke was a prince of Demacia. Bilgewater itself held little that would make him wish to remain.

Had it not been for the Shadow Isles, he might never have come here at all.

Once he left, his next return would also be for the sake of fighting the Shadow Isles.

After that, he might never return again.

Her eyes dimmed slightly, and Sarah became even quieter.

From the moment Luke stepped forward for her inside the temple, he had left an indelible mark upon her heart.

Miss Fortune unconsciously clenched her fist, feeling her beating heart speak of an emotion she had never experienced before.

Neither of them spoke for the rest of the journey.

They eventually returned to the Syren.

The crew released sighs of relief when they saw Sarah return safely. She had been gone for quite some time, and tonight had been exceptionally dangerous.

Luke intended to remain for several more days so he could give Sarah one final push and ensure that her position as ruler of Bilgewater was secure.

Even with Illaoi's reputation and the public support of several veteran captains, Bilgewater had no shortage of reckless fools.

The captains of the newer generation might not accept Sarah either.

Gangplank, vicious and brutal, had once stood above them.

Were they now expected to allow a mere woman to rule over them as well?

The answer was yes.

Over the next two days, a new rumor spread through Bilgewater.

It was even more shocking than Illaoi's public support for Sarah.

According to the rumor, the pretty boy Sarah had supposedly taken as her lover was actually the second prince of Demacia.

At first, many refused to believe it.

Then Illaoi personally confirmed the information.

The entire Blue Flame Isles erupted in shock.

No one was more surprised than the crew of the Syren.

They had spent so much time with Luke without realizing how deeply he had concealed his identity.

They had assumed their captain was financially supporting a handsome young lover.

Now it seemed the situation might have been the exact opposite.

Whatever the truth, everyone believed they understood the relationship between Luke and Sarah.

Why else would the prince of an entire kingdom so forcefully support her and secure her position as ruler of the Blue Flame Isles?

During those two days, Sarah held a meeting with the various captains, restored order throughout the islands, and strengthened the existing restrictions.

At the very least, the worst criminals would no longer be welcome.

Everything else would continue as before.

Everyone understood that Bilgewater now had a new ruler.

The name Gangplank would disappear into history and probably be forgotten before long.

Meanwhile, every organization and individual who had once followed him would face Sarah's merciless pursuit.

Because of her new status, countless people eagerly volunteered to serve her.

Throughout those two days, Gangplank's former subordinates were hunted from one hiding place to another. One after another, they were dragged out.

Some had recognized the danger early and fled before the hunt began.

They probably would not dare return anytime soon.

At last, Sarah could hold her head high.

The nightmare that had tormented her for fifteen years was finally fading away.

That night, inside a private room at a casino called Fortune's Glory, Twisted Fate nervously stared at the man sitting across from him.

Several days earlier, they had sat at the same table and gambled against one another.

The pressure had not been remotely this severe.

The man's identity was now publicly known.

A prince of Demacia.

It was absurd beyond belief.

After narrowly escaping death, Twisted Fate had remained furious that Miss Fortune had manipulated him.

However, her meteoric rise over the past two days had left him and Graves completely outmatched.

They immediately abandoned any thoughts of disrespect and decided to leave this dangerous place.

They suspected that remaining in Bilgewater would only bring more trouble.

Before leaving, they had planned to win a fortune at this casino and disappear.

Instead, they discovered that the man who had nearly shattered Twisted Fate's confidence was already waiting for them.

Just as before, the two began another game across the gambling table.

However, the combined pressure caused Twisted Fate to perform terribly.

Even Graves, standing beside him, could tell that the man was unbelievably nervous.

To be honest, Graves was nervous too.

They were facing someone who could have them killed with a single sentence.

Compared to Gangplank, this man was a far more terrifying figure.

"I only want you to treat me like an ordinary person. There's no need to be nervous."

Luke sighed.

"I've always admired how approachable Your Highness is."

Twisted Fate forced a smile, though the hand holding his cards trembled slightly.

He was not a good man.

People said that those with clear consciences had no reason to fear ghosts knocking at their doors.

Unfortunately, Twisted Fate's conscience was anything but clear.

He remembered that years ago, he and Graves had stolen treasures from a Demacian vault before escaping.

Not even the kingdom's knights had managed to catch them.

If the prince knew about that incident, then the two of them...

"Show your cards. It's time to finish this."

Luke calmly placed his hand on the table.

His three cards were ace, ace, and five, giving him a pair of aces.

Twisted Fate revealed his own cards.

He had only a pair of sixes.

The moment he saw Luke's hand, he sighed.

"I lose."

Graves looked confused.

He knew how skilled Twisted Fate was.

There was no reason he should have lost so miserably.

He had gone all in with a pair of sixes despite knowing that Luke probably held two aces?

Twisted Fate saw Graves's expression and immediately understood what the fool was thinking.

He cursed Graves for being an idiot.

Did Graves actually expect him to win?

How could he possibly dare to win?

"You don't have any money left, do you?" Luke asked.

"That's right."

Twisted Fate's expression turned bitter.

"In that case, let's discuss a transaction."

Luke smiled as both men looked at him in confusion.

"You may take all the money on this table. I'll also overlook the matter of the treasure stolen from Demacia."

Luke had merely asked around and easily learned about the incident.

There was no need to guess who had committed the theft.

Still, it had happened more than ten years ago, so he had little interest in pursuing it.

He had another objective now.

Twisted Fate and Graves both paled, and cold sweat began running down their bodies.

He really knew.

But how had he discovered it?

Neither man understood, but denying everything now would probably be pointless.

"What transaction does Your Highness have in mind?" Twisted Fate asked with resignation.

"It's very simple. I'm interested in your card techniques and would like you to teach me."

"My cards?"

Twisted Fate paused.

"This ability isn't something other people can learn."

"Just teach me. If I can't learn it, then so be it."

Luke spoke casually.

He now possessed unparalleled aptitude and wanted to see whether he could learn the ability.

If ordinary methods failed, he had another way.

Twisted Fate began teaching him slowly.

He had no experience instructing others and only knew that this power belonged exclusively to him.

It might have been inherited. As far as he knew, only members of his ancestral bloodline had ever possessed it.

Regardless, he explained every insight and technique he used when activating the power of his cards.

Luke held a card between his fingers and experimented.

As expected, it did not work.

This truly appeared to be an ability exclusive to Twisted Fate. It could not be learned through ordinary means.

Luke spoke silently.

"System, use the Skill Copy Card."

Since arriving in Bilgewater, he had received little of value from his check-ins.

However, with only two days remaining before his departure, he had obtained a Skill Copy Card.

Its function was exactly what the name suggested.

It could copy an ability.

Luke had once used the same kind of card to copy one of Taric's abilities, Bastion.

[Use successful. Congratulations, Host. You have acquired the advanced skill, Destiny LV3.]

The system immediately responded.

A vast amount of information concerning the ability Destiny appeared within Luke's mind.

In simple terms, he could infuse cards with spiritual power to produce different effects.

The ability included red, yellow, and blue cards, each possessing a different effect.

However, Luke was most interested in its most unusual function.

Teleportation.

By channeling power through a card and visualizing a destination, he could obtain information about its location and then teleport there.

Different skill levels allowed teleportation over different distances.

Without wasting time, Luke used the Skill Cards stored in his inventory and raised Destiny directly to LV7.

Advanced Skill Cards were extremely rare, so Luke rarely had any saved, but he possessed reserves of beginner and intermediate cards.

After Destiny reached LV7, Luke immediately felt its power improve tremendously.

Meanwhile, Twisted Fate and Graves continued watching him meditate with his eyes closed.

The experience was both dull and agonizing, yet neither man dared move.

Twisted Fate knew that only he should be capable of inheriting the ability.

How could an outsider possibly learn it?

Just as that thought crossed his mind, Luke opened his eyes and smiled.

The card held between his fingers began radiating magical light identical to Twisted Fate's.

Mysterious energy rippled through the air.

"What?"

Twisted Fate and Graves widened their eyes simultaneously, staring in disbelief.

"The money is yours."

After leaving those words behind, Luke vanished from his seat.

Graves stared at the empty chair.

Twisted Fate stared even harder.

Both men remained frozen for a long moment before finally recovering.

Graves swallowed.

"Was that the same ability you use?"

Twisted Fate looked lost.

"I think so..."

His emotions were anything but calm.

It felt as though countless horses were stampeding through his mind, and he had an overwhelming urge to start swearing.

What the hell?

What kind of monster was that?

It was an ancestral ability, and Luke had learned it in less than half an hour?

What the actual hell?

"I think the two of us should avoid dealing with him in the future."

Graves was not particularly intelligent, but even he could not stop himself from saying it.

Twisted Fate nodded in complete agreement.

"Grab the money and leave. From now on, we go the other way whenever we see him. He's terrifying."

His body was drenched in cold sweat.

He remained completely shaken and could not begin to understand what had happened.

For Luke, however, the scene merely flashed.

He had already appeared inside his room aboard the Syren.

The vessel was now openly docked at a private stretch of coastline that also served as Sarah's residence.

"Very nice."

Luke smiled as he examined the room around him.

The teleportation distance was already remarkable.

With the skill's current level and his powerful spiritual strength, he could teleport nearly twenty thousand meters at once.

The ability could still be improved, so he should eventually be capable of traveling even farther.

Its only flaws were that activation required time, magical guidance, and meditation. He could not use it instantaneously.

It also failed if his spiritual power was too low. He could not bring other people with him, and repeated activations multiplied the spiritual energy consumed.

Perhaps there would be room to improve those limitations in the future.

For now, Luke was extremely satisfied.

At the very least, he finally possessed a means of teleportation.

Tap, tap, tap.

The sound of footsteps came from outside his door, like high heels striking the wooden floor.

The door soon opened.

Sarah stood in the doorway wearing nothing but a white shirt and black trousers.

Even beneath such simple clothing, her full and shapely figure was outlined to perfection.

"I heard something and guessed you had returned."

Sarah looked at Luke as she spoke.

"Yeah, I just got back." Luke nodded. "I'm leaving tomorrow."

Lucian had already departed.

He had rested for only a single night before boarding a ship and leaving the next morning.

Luke had given him a Secret Key so they could remain in contact at any time.

Lucian had been quite shocked by the device.

"I see."

Sarah was not surprised, though something flickered within her beautiful eyes.

"Would you like a drink? We can consider it a celebration and my way of thanking you. A sincere thank-you."

"Sure."

Luke smiled and accepted.

Before long, bottle after bottle of fine liquor had been placed on the table.

For some reason, Sarah was less talkative than the previous time they drank together.

Instead, she simply continued raising her glass and drinking with Luke.

It did not take long for her entire face to turn red. A drunken flush spread across her cheeks as her beautiful eyes gazed at Luke with seductive warmth.

"I never imagined I would share such a strange and wonderful connection with a prince."

She paused.

"No, not with a prince. With you."

Sarah leaned lazily against the table. Her full chest pressed against its surface as she murmured the words.

"This world is filled with countless connections waiting for people to discover them."

Luke had also drunk quite a lot.

His mind remained relatively clear, although he was now slightly intoxicated.

"I kept thinking that Bilgewater doesn't have anything that would make you miss it. Once you leave, even if you return, it won't be because of anything here."

Sarah watched him closely.

"That isn't necessarily..."

"So I thought I should leave you with something worth missing."

Sarah interrupted him and rose from her seat.

"At the very least, something that will prevent you from forgetting this place. Something that will make you remember it forever."

She moved closer and sat directly on his lap, wrapping her slender arms around his neck.

Her eyes were heavy with desire as she gazed into his.

She was clearly drunk, yet somehow also seemed completely aware of what she was doing.

A faint fragrance drifted from her body.

"Didn't you once dream of becoming the man who conquered the pirate queen?"

Her lips curved into a seductive smile.

"Now you can make that dream come true."
