The Undercity.
As the hands on the clock moved second by second, the ticking sound made Sevika increasingly irritable.
She sat on the sofa. Because she had injected Shimmer, her body had recovered very quickly, and the injuries on her body were no longer a major issue.
Vi's face flashed through her mind, and her fist clenched unconsciously.
Wasn't she dead?
Why had she appeared again?
How would Silco feel once he learned about this?
Clearly, he did not know that Vi was still alive either.
At that moment, Sevika lifted her eyes and looked impatiently at the clock on the wall.
The time pointed to seven o'clock.
Concerts usually only lasted two hours. It had now been nearly two hours since the performance ended, but Silco still had not returned.
"Something's wrong."
Sevika frowned slightly, rose from the sofa, and paced back and forth.
Then she looked at the clock again as it ticked away by itself.
No matter what, after nearly two hours, Silco should have been back.
There was no reason for him to be delayed by anything in the upper city. If he still was not back in twenty minutes…
Thinking this, Sevika sat back down, her expression dark.
Time passed second by second in silence.
Twenty minutes later.
Sevika immediately got up, pushed the door open, and walked out.
"Something happened!"
That was her first instinct. With her understanding of Silco, he was never someone who let things slip.
Soon, she found the subordinates she could trust and gave orders.
"You, go gather information immediately. Ask our eyes whether anyone has seen the boss. Don't make a scene. Move quickly."
"Yes!"
"You, go check the mid-level district."
"Yes!"
"If there's any news about the boss, tell me immediately."
"Yes!"
In a short time, Sevika finished making arrangements and sent out all the people she trusted.
She did not stay idle either, quickly going to several places Silco usually visited. Every empty result made her steps a little more anxious.
Night slowly arrived.
The horizon was dotted with stars, and the bright moon hung high, giving off gentle light that spilled down like a blanket of snow.
The upper city.
The training base.
Vi briefly told everyone about what had happened between her and Jinx many years ago, allowing them to understand.
And from everyone else, she also learned what had happened here after Jinx came to the upper city.
She learned that Powder had now joined a band called Jan'ahrem as its drummer.
According to Caitlyn, this band seemed to be the most popular band in Piltover at the moment.
To be honest, this surprised Vi a little, because there were many things that were different from what she had imagined after getting out of prison.
But none of that mattered. To her, as long as her sister was all right, that was enough.
To celebrate the sisters' reunion, everyone specially prepared a banquet for them. Although the atmosphere here felt like a banquet every day, the meaning was definitely different this time.
Feeling the atmosphere of the banquet, Vi was sincerely happy that her sister had made these friends.
And they welcomed her warmly too. This left Vi somewhat at a loss, but she still actively responded to everyone's welcome.
Although they had only known one another for a short time, she knew that everyone here was very good.
After dinner, she took a comfortable bath at the training base.
In Stillwater Hold, there were only showers, and the water was cold.
Getting to soak in a bath like this for once made Vi feel a touch of happiness from the bottom of her heart.
The medicine His Highness had applied to her wound was very miraculous. After removing the bandages, she had to apply it once every half hour.
By now, she could barely feel anything anymore. Saying it had almost healed would not be an exaggeration.
So now, she could even soak comfortably in a medicinal bath.
She remembered often squeezing into the same wooden tub with Powder when they were little. Powder would mischievously splash water onto her face.
Although her mischievous nature had not changed much now, at a glance, she really had grown up a lot.
Soaking in the warm pool and feeling the warmth inside her body, Vi's tense body relaxed. She sat quietly, looking at everything in front of her.
Even now, she still felt a hint of unreality.
It was as if she were still living in a dream.
If this was a dream, she truly hoped she would never wake up.
"Vi! That girl splashed water on me! Help me get revenge!"
Powder's voice called her back from the dream. The little blue-haired girl came over angrily, asking her to make things right.
It seemed she had lost a water fight to that noble young lady named Lux.
Naturally, Vi could not get involved. She smiled and said, "I believe in you."
Seeing that no reinforcements would help her, Jinx turned back around in a huff and went to take revenge on Miss Crownguard.
As for everyone else, they had long since grown used to these two making a scene every day.
After the bath, Vi saw that the considerate maid named Yurna had already prepared a change of clothes for her.
The aura Yurna carried made even Vi unable to help sighing inwardly. As expected of a royal maid.
In truth, the clothes belonged to Quinn.
Because Vi and Quinn were close in build and height, they could be used directly.
As for Vi's original outfit, naturally, it did not look good and was not very practical either.
Before anyone realized it, deep night had arrived.
In the room, Vi and Jinx were on the same bed. Vi leaned against the headboard, while Jinx lay on her side, her head resting on the pillow, her gaze fixed on Vi beside her.
Her eyes sparkled, and she said happily, "I never thought we'd see each other again. I never thought we could sleep in the same bed like before either."
Vi was not the only one who felt today was dreamlike.
Jinx felt the same.
The sister she had thought was dead had suddenly appeared alive and well in front of her.
After so long, she had really missed her.
And when Vi appeared beside her again, Jinx knew that sure enough, Vi was still the one she loved most.
"To be honest, I never thought it would happen either."
Vi raised a hand and gently stroked Jinx's hair. "It feels like so, so much has happened. But luckily, we weren't separated forever."
"Mm." Jinx nodded softly and looked at Vi. "I have so much I want to say to you."
"Me too."
Vi chuckled softly.
"Do you still remember the stories I used to tell you when I was getting you to sleep?"
"I remember all of them. I didn't forget a single one."
"I actually prepared so many more. Back then, I thought I'd tell you a different one every night, all the way until you grew up."
"Sometimes, when you didn't want to sleep, I would cover your eyes and count to one hundred. Then you'd fall asleep."
"Back then, we folded paper airplanes together and competed to see whose plane could fly farther. I could never beat you."
With nostalgia in her eyes, Vi softly spoke about their childhood.
Jinx quietly listened, the corner of her mouth curved in a lovely smile.
When they talked about funny moments from their childhood, the two sisters would even look at each other and smile.
This stretch of time seemed like the happiest time of all.
Just like that, one spoke while the other listened. Gradually, Jinx's eyelids began to droop, then slowly closed, as if she had fallen asleep.
Looking at her sleeping face, Vi also quieted down. Her gentle, smiling eyes simply watched Jinx, as though she could never see enough.
After counting to one hundred in her heart, Vi put away her smile and quietly got out of bed. Then she silently left the room, her gaze narrowing slightly.
Today, she had not talked to her sister about Silco. Not even one word.
But she knew that Sevika might have been right.
Her sister had been with Silco all these years.
Naturally, Vi had not forgotten this matter.
After coming out of prison, there were only two things she absolutely had to do.
The first was to find her sister.
The second was to find Silco and settle the score.
Now, her sister had already been found, and Vi had confirmed that she was safe.
But the matter between her and Silco was not over yet. Back then, because of him, Vander, Mylo, and Claggor had all died.
Vi could not let this matter simply pass. No matter what, she was going to make Silco give her an explanation.
For this reason, she had deliberately avoided her sister.
She had to completely end all of this before Powder faced it.
However, Vi had not considered that after so many years, people changed, and people grew up too.
After going downstairs, she saw Caitlyn already waiting below.
Caitlyn was investigating the matter of "C," so naturally, this matter was not over for her either.
"Let's go."
Vi looked at her. The two exchanged a glance, then walked outside.
And not long after she left the room.
Jinx, who had been wearing a peaceful sleeping expression, opened her eyes all at once. Her eyes were completely clear, without the slightest trace of drowsiness.
She sat up in bed and glanced at the empty space beside her.
She had already guessed what Vi was planning to do.
Silco's face flashed through her mind, and Jinx felt a faint pain in her heart. In truth, during the concert today, she had felt something bad the entire time.
That was why she had missed the beat.
As for the fact that he had lied to her for so many years, Jinx did feel angry, but she had not forgotten how she had survived all these years either.
If Silco had not chosen to take her in back then, she might have already died on the streets of Zaun.
Now Vi had returned, and Vi was the sister she loved most.
But on the other side was Silco.
With her understanding of Vi, Jinx knew that she would definitely go looking for Silco.
Toward Silco, what surged up in Jinx's heart was a complex feeling, one that made her restless, uneasy, and pained.
But no matter what, Jinx knew she had to see Silco before Vi did.
Tonight was destined to be a sleepless night.
At the training base.
Luke walked out of his room. There was no one around. He turned on the living room light, heated some water, then poured himself a cup of hot tea.
Sitting in a chair, he gently blew on it while taking small sips.
Before long, several more people suddenly appeared in the living room.
"Looks like nobody's asleep. Going to bed early and getting up early is good for your health."
He spoke while leisurely drinking tea.
At the moment, aside from Annie, who had drunk two cups of milk before bed and was now sleeping soundly, everyone else had come to the living room.
"Aren't you awake too?" Lux had not even changed into pajamas. She said, "With things like this, anyone who can fall asleep must be a ghost."
She looked left and right, and sure enough, three people were missing.
Everyone else had clearly noticed as well.
At this moment, Seraphine said softly, "I heard Caitlyn leaving from my room just now."
Today, from Vi's account, they had learned that such things had happened to her and Jinx when they were children.
The matter also involved someone named Silco.
Now, the three of them were gone. With even a casual guess, everyone could figure out what the three had gone to do.
They had one hundred percent gone to the Undercity.
Luke asked leisurely, "So what do you want to do?"
Lux clenched her little fist and said aggressively, "Launch an operation, of course! This involves Caitlyn and the little blue-haired girl. As friends, we obviously have to lend a hand! And although I usually find that little blue-haired girl annoying, for the sake of keeping the band from being affected, we must act!"
The second half was her personal opinion.
However, the first half of Lux's words received everyone's approval.
After all, this matter involved Caitlyn and Jinx.
Although they had not asked for help, as friends, taking the initiative to help at a time like this was only right.
Luke had no intention of stopping them from thinking this way.
It was not as though everyone was a god like Janna, unable to easily interfere in mortal affairs. If a friend was in trouble, offering help was perfectly normal.
Thus, after making some brief preparations, Lux and the others quickly formed a small team, preparing to set out for the lower city, Zaun.
Looking at their bustling backs, Janna emerged from behind Luke and asked, "You're not going?"
"I am. If I don't go, wouldn't I become a lonely old man?"
Luke finished the last sip of tea in his cup and prepared to follow along to take a look.
"If you go like that, I'm afraid you won't even find a single hair," Janna suddenly said at this moment.
Luke could not help looking at her, puzzled. "What do you mean?"
"Since it's you, I'll just say it plainly." Janna looked at Luke and blinked. "Silco has been kidnapped. And it's been a while."
Hearing this, Luke fell silent for a moment, then said, "Looks like you've been keeping up with the drama too."
"Of course!" The corner of Janna's mouth curved up, and she said with a smile, "What in Zaun could be hidden from me?"
"Do you know who kidnapped him?" Luke thought for a moment, then asked.
"That costs extra."
Janna shook out the hem of her skirt and lifted her chin, her begging attitude extremely obvious.
Luke said, "Two desserts of your choice."
Janna assessed it for a moment, then reluctantly said, "This group has been plotting for a long time. They formed a team and set their sights on him very early on. Because he came to watch the concert, his movements were exposed, and the other side caught his opening."
After listening, Luke nodded slightly in realization.
Silco had even come to watch the concert. That was something he truly had not expected.
However, with Jan'ahrem's popularity, it did not seem strange for some people in Zaun to pay attention to them, then for word to reach Silco.
What he cared about more was the other group.
From Janna's tone, it seemed this group was not simple.
Vi and Caitlyn might run into a tough problem this time.
No matter what, he had to go take a look.
In truth, getting involved in this matter did have benefits.
Luke's next plan was to open up the market on Zaun's side, and contacting Zaun early would also allow him to influence this underground city.
If he wanted his future goal to be achieved, then the divide between the twin cities had to be erased.
And now, it seemed this was a very good opportunity.
