Chapter 296 - Chapter 296: Thresh’s Most Wanted Soul

Purple Prison Mountain.

Logan narrowed his eyes. To be honest, deep down, he was still a little afraid of Thresh.

But when Logan looked back and saw the group of Spirit Blossom deities following behind him, he puffed out his chest.

It was not an explosive chest like Thresh's, but it was a chest full of confidence, pride, and triumph, completely different from before.

"Why are you puffing out your chest?" Ahri was curled up on Logan's left shoulder. When Logan puffed his chest out, her body moved with him, and her big tail unconsciously swept around to his right cheek, brushing across his face.

His face itched. Logan reached up, grabbed Ahri's fox tail, and said, "I just remembered what happened when I first met Thresh."

"I was the one who helped you!" Ahri hurriedly said.

Logan laughed, then raised his hand and scratched the little fox under the chin.

Ahri was clearly fishing for credit, and Logan understood what she meant.

Seeing every deity in the Spirit Blossom realm watching Logan, Ahri naturally got jealous. She was worried that Logan might grow close to the other Spirit Blossom deities, and then he would stop bringing her things and spending time playing with her.

Ahri absolutely did not want that!

They walked through the familiar Purple Bamboo Forest and saw Moonwatch Lake, where Logan had been before.

The giant serpent that had scared Logan out of his mind back then was gone, but one thing still made the corner of Logan's mouth twitch.

In the bamboo grove beside Moonwatch Lake, there was a purple pavilion. In the center of the pavilion stood a stone platform, and on it sat a cage. Inside the cage was a handful of fresh soil. With Logan's eyesight, he could clearly see the mark in the dirt. It was a footprint, and beside the dirt was a line written in Ionian, The person I want most.

Logan's pupils shrank. The corner of his mouth twitched, and his earlier high spirits turned back into terror.

The Spirit Blossom deities who had come with Logan were just as shocked.

The only one who did not understand what was going on was the silly fellow floating behind them with a big trumpet in hand. He was curiously examining this world, and his gaze also settled on Logan.

He seemed a little confused.

And Logan?

He was already cursing at the top of his lungs inside his heart!

You motherfucker!

Are you ever going to stop?!

No, Logan really wanted to ask Thresh what the fuck he was trying to do by being this obsessed with another man.

And Riot, aren't you people a little too free with this stuff?!

Do you absolutely have to force inclusivity into everything?

But after thinking about it, Logan realized he was overthinking.

When the Spirit Blossom skin line first came out, in the client minigame, Logan had entered Spirit Blossom from a male player's perspective. That meant that, among his choices, there simply had not been an option to romance male characters.

As for what happened later, when he had casually made some choices because he wanted the Yasuo and Yone icons, and then somehow Yasuo ended up kissing him and making him blush, that had been purely an accident!

Clearly, those romanceable male Spirit Blossom deities had been prepared by Riot for female players. After all, League of Legends had a pretty good male-to-female player ratio for an online game, with no small number of female players.

But understanding that setting did not mean Logan could accept that setting right now!

Thresh's constant fixation on him had very clearly already caused him harm, okay?

What normal man would ever want a bare-chested, muscular grown man constantly obsessing over him?

Thinking of that, Logan could not hold back anymore. He raised his head and shouted,

"Thresh!"

The purple bamboo forest rustled. A moment later, a figure carrying a lantern appeared.

Seeing Logan, purple fire danced in his eyes, and desire was born along with it.

That desire even made Cassiopeia, a deity who represented Akana desire, break out in a cold sweat.

"You came."

Logan looked at Thresh and watched him walk out of the Purple Bamboo Forest. The lantern in Thresh's hand showed an aggrieved expression, and Thresh continued, "Unfortunately, I can no longer let you attain bliss."

"?"

"Can you act normal?" Logan took a deep breath and looked at Thresh.

"Normal?" Thresh tilted his head slightly. Right now, the face he showed was that of a demon, not the handsome man Logan had seen back then.

"What would count as normal? I am an incarnation of obsession. If I did not act according to my obsession, that would be abnormal." Thresh shook his head.

He looked at Logan and continued, "But now, I can no longer do anything to you. Your soul is constantly growing stronger. It will not be long before you are no longer someone I can control, not to mention they are helping you."

Thresh's gaze swept over all the Spirit Blossom deities. Then he shook the lantern in his hand, purple fire flickering calmly in his eyes, and said softly, "So, you have come to cause me trouble?"

"No, Thresh. I need your help. I came to invite you."

When talking to a lunatic, you absolutely could not act like a riddle-spouting cryptic weirdo. That was the experience Logan had gained after years of interacting with lunatics.

The kind words you thought were considerate, the lies you told for their own good, would only make them even crazier.

So Logan spoke directly to Thresh.

"My help? You came to invite me?" Thresh looked puzzled. He stared at Logan, the purple flames in his eyes flickering. But from them, it was clear that Thresh held no hatred toward Logan, and no apology either.

Even though he had nearly imprisoned Logan and killed him back then.

Because just as Thresh had said, he was an incarnation of obsession. That was his duty. If he did not do that, then that would be abnormal instead.

"A war is about to break out in Runeterra. This concerns a crisis facing Runeterra, and I need powerful combat strength." Logan looked at Thresh and spoke seriously.

"You already have help from many people," Thresh said calmly. "Every one of them wants to go outside. Even the Kanmei are the same."

"They keep claiming they have let go of their obsessions, but once they gained the hope of going outside, were they not no different from us?" Thresh's voice carried a trace of mockery.

Ahri immediately shot back, "Shut up, Thresh. Who's the same as you?"

"Heh." Thresh sneered.

He truly did not hate Logan, because all he had for Logan was admiration. He wanted Logan. That want was a sick kind of cherishing. But Ahri?

This creature, who had ruined his perfect opportunity and turned Logan into what he was now, was naturally someone Thresh hated to the bone.

"That's enough, Ahri." Logan soothed the little fox, whose fur had bristled.

Then he looked at Thresh again and said seriously, "Right now, I can only bring a few deities out at once. Although everyone here is powerful, Thresh, you and Ahri are the strongest deities in this world. If I bring you out, the help I receive will be greater."

Behind Logan, none of the deities objected.

Ahri and Thresh were indeed the two most special deities in the Spirit Blossom realm.

To put it this way, when spirits from the outside world entered the Spirit Blossom realm, the first test they had to face was Ahri and Thresh. Thresh would first tempt the soul, and then Ahri would interfere and guide the soul.

Thresh raised his head. "Then, Logan, can you give me a reason to help you?"

"Or are you planning to use yourself as the trade?" The crimson demon face vanished, replaced by a fair-skinned face with handsome features, sharp brows, and striking eyes.

Licking his lips, Thresh even took a step forward as he spoke.

"Stay where you are!" Ahri shouted.

Logan quietly looked at Thresh. After a moment, he said with a strange expression,

"Give you a reason?"

"If Runeterra is lost, then you will completely lose a great many beautiful souls. Can you endure that situation?"

"Thresh, you wouldn't want the Spirit Blossom realm to lose its main world after Runeterra is destroyed, and never have any souls left to capture, would you?"

Thresh froze in place. A trace of shock appeared in his beautiful eyes.

Right.
