Chapter 338 - Chapter 338: The Sleeping Giant Awakens

While Lucas was busy helping care for the Pokémon left by other Trainers at the Breeding House, Gary arrived in Snowpoint City to prepare for the upcoming Lily of the Valley Conference.

Today, Snowpoint City experienced a rare clear day; the snow-capped peaks of Mt. Coronet shimmered with a dazzling golden glow under the sunlight.

Gary arrived at the entrance of the Snowpoint City Gym; he had come specifically to ask for guidance on using Ice-type moves today, so that Blastoise could perform better at the Lily of the Valley Conference.

"Leader Candice, sorry for the intrusion during this time."

Gary looked at Candice before him and spoke politely.

Candice saw Gary; he had put on a brilliant performance during his battle against her Gym, so when he asked if he could come to learn the release and use of Ice-type moves, she had agreed without hesitation.

"Gary, I need to go somewhere next. If possible, I need your help."

Candice looked at Gary and said.

Gary nodded. "Alright."

Without even asking why, Candice smiled upon hearing Gary's answer and explained, "Do you know Mr. Brandon? He came by a while ago and said there might be unusual activity at the Snowpoint Temple recently. The legendary Pokémon Regigigas might be reviving, so we need to go there to take precautions and be fully prepared."

The legendary Pokémon Regigigas?

The Pokémon legendary for dragging continents? If it really revived, wouldn't it completely smash Snowpoint City to pieces?

Thinking of this, Gary's expression turned serious, and he looked at Candice, saying, "I will do my best."

Candice gave a light smile. "No need to be so worried; it's just a guess."

After saying that, Candice took the lead toward the Snowpoint Temple. Gary released Arcanine, mounted its back, and followed closely behind.

Along the way, Gary noticed that the streets of Snowpoint City seemed much more deserted than the last time he came to challenge the Gym; no, it should be said that there was almost no one left in Snowpoint City.

Aside from Nurse Joy at the Pokémon Center and Officer Jenny, Gary didn't see a single pedestrian on the way until he reached the Snowpoint Temple.

"Mr. Brandon, Mr. Riley."

Candice greeted the two serious-looking men before her. Gary also dismounted from Arcanine; he had also seen an acquaintance at the Snowpoint Temple.

"Gary, you're here too?"

Ash saw Gary get off Arcanine and greeted him with a question.

"I came to follow Leader Candice for some training and learning. Why are you guys here?"

Gary asked.

Ash scratched his head. "I originally thought about looking for Mr. Brandon for battle training and then going to the Grand Festival together once it starts. Later, Mr. Brandon said the legendary Regigigas might appear here, so we followed along."

Burning flames blazed in Ash's eyes. "Regigigas, a legendary Pokémon. I really want to try fighting it. Right, Pikachu?"

"Pika pika!"

"Is Gary thinking the same thing as me?"

Gary: ————

"While that's true, this is a Pokémon capable of dragging continental plates. I feel like we need to call for backup first."

Gary said.

"Speaking of which, will the League arrange for someone at the Elite level to come?"

Riley, who was followed by a Lucario, asked.

Candice nodded. "The Elite is on the way."

"I wonder which Elite it is, but with an Elite here, our chances of stopping it increase by a few more points."

Mr. Brandon crossed his arms and said while looking at the snowy mountains ahead.

"Will Regigigas really awaken?"

Seeing that everyone believed Regigigas would awaken, Gary asked a question.

Riley looked toward Gary and sensed the Aura on him; it was actually on par with Ash's.

Who was this genius young Trainer?

He then spoke up, "I've predicted it through Aura; the probability of it awakening is as high as ninety percent."

Gary: "And you are?"

"I am the Aura Guardian of Iron Island, Riley. I also came to protect the Snowpoint Temple at Mr. Brandon's invitation."

Gary felt the Aura suddenly emanating from him. It was very similar to the Aura after his Blastoise's Mega Evolution, so he became even more convinced that Regigigas would awaken.

While everyone was still talking, Gary quietly went to a corner and took out his phone.

"Awooo."

After an unknown amount of time, a howl rang out. Brandon's group turned to look and found another Arcanine running over, stopping in front of them. Immediately after, a man with a fiery red afro and a man with green hair dismounted from the Arcanine.

"Elite Four Flint, Elite Four Aaron."

Candice gave a polite greeting.

Riley said in surprise, "The Sinnoh League actually sent two Elites?! It seems they really believed our words, Mr. Brandon."

Brandon narrowed his eyes as he looked at the two arriving Sinnoh Elites; his confidence increased a few points more.

"Elite Four Flint, Elite Four Aaron, let's have a battle!"

As soon as they met, Ash started requesting a battle.

Before Flint and Aaron could speak, Ash was dragged away by Gary.

"The most important thing right now is to conserve our energy, don't you understand?"

Gary said to Ash.

Ash gave an 'oh', feeling somewhat aggrieved for some reason.

"The League actually sent two Elites over."

Candice was also a bit surprised. Although she was the one who reported to the League and suggested having the residents of Snowpoint City evacuate temporarily, she didn't expect the League to take this matter so seriously as to send two Elites directly. One had to know this could very well be a false alarm.

"Champion Cynthia was originally planning to come, but it seems something happened over at Mt. Coronet as well. She went to investigate and can't make it for now. As for the strongest Elite, Lucian, the League has many affairs that need him to handle, so the League sent us this time."

Aaron explained.

"I'd rather come here than continue handling League affairs."

Flint said.

This time, Lucian was originally supposed to be sent, but Flint raised his hand and said he could make the trip. The League sought Lucian's opinion and then let Flint come.

Flint had conveniently dragged Aaron, who was staying at home, along with him.

Back at the League, Lucian looked at the message Flint sent on his phone, saying he and Aaron had arrived.

After the events of Poplar Town, the League seemed to care even more about these matters involving legendary Pokémon.

This time, they even turned a blind eye to two Elites setting out together.

Lucian looked at the mountain of affairs before him and took a sip of the herbal tea Lucas gave him for hair care. "Damn Flint, actually taking Aaron away. Just you wait until you get back, you're dead!"

At the Snowpoint Temple, Flint sneezed several times in a row.

"Strange, is someone thinking of me?"

Flint wiped his nose and muttered.

"Maybe it's Lucian complaining because you dragged me out."

Aaron said while standing to the side.

Flint: "Aiyoh, you have to believe Lucian can handle it alone. Wasn't it always like that before?"

Deep in the Mt. Coronet range, the magnitude of a certain peak's shaking grew larger and larger.

Snowpoint City also began to shake along with the shaking of this peak.

Immediately after, multi-colored lights began to flicker in front of this peak, like a machine starting up.

Until these flickering lights began to stabilize, this peak began to slowly—stand up."

"Regi—" a thick voice rang out, sounding like it was stuttering.

"Regi!"

The sleeping giant began to slowly awaken. The earth trembled along with it.

At the Breeding House on the other side, a figure suddenly soared into the sky, then streaked across the air, heading straight toward Snowpoint City.
