Chapter 333 - Chapter 333: The Festival in Twinleaf Town: Exchanging Gifts

The entrance to Twinleaf Town.

Gothitelle and Lilligant were standing on the snow, looking at the group of troublemakers before them and constantly scolding them.

Lucas and the others also hung their heads, not saying a word.

"Gothitelle!"

Especially you two!

Gothitelle specifically singled out Lucas and Gengar.

Lucas cast a pleading look at Lilligant, but Lilligant turned her head away, refusing to meet his eyes.

As more and more people entered and exited Twinleaf Town, Gothitelle finally let Lucas and Gengar go.

Lucas and Gengar grinned. Then Gengar sat back on the carriage, while Lucas mounted Ninetales and slowly made his way into Twinleaf Town.

"Lucas."

A familiar voice rang out. Lucas turned around and saw Officer Jenny riding an Arcanine.

"Sister Reese, you're still on duty for Christmas?"

Lucas greeted Officer Jenny as she rode her Arcanine over to him. Officer Jenny nodded, "That's right, but I only have to work a half-day shift. I can go help out at the Breeding House in the afternoon."

"Help? Helping to eat or helping to make a mess?"

Officer Jenny gave Lucas a playful punch. "You guy."

Then she noticed Shauna and Gengar sitting on the carriage. "Is this Santa Claus? Gengar's outfit..."

Gengar reached out and stroked its beard, nodding slowly, then took a gift out of the bag behind it and handed it to Officer Jenny.

Looking at the carefully wrapped Candy, Officer Jenny smiled warmly. "Thanks, Gengar. That's a very cute outfit. And little Shauna, you're so kawaii~"

Gengar and Shauna both grinned.

"I won't bother you guys then. Once I'm off work, I'll go find Linnea and we'll head to the Breeding House together."

Officer Jenny said.

"Okay."

After Officer Jenny left, Lucas turned back to look at everyone from the Breeding House. "Everyone, I believe you're all quite familiar with Twinleaf Town by now. From here on, you can go wherever you want to play. If you see something you want to eat or buy, you can write an IOU to the shop owner. I've put the IOU slips in your bags, and I'll settle the bills all at once later."

Lucas said.

"Well then, I wish you all a Merry Christmas. Thank you for all your hard work during this time."

As soon as Lucas finished speaking, a large group of Pokémon went their separate ways.

Alcremie sat on Rhyperior's shoulder and headed towards a Dessert Shop.

The other Pokémon also headed to where they wanted to go.

Only Gengar and the others remained by Lucas's side.

"Aren't you going to look around?"

Lucas asked the invisible Latias beside him.

"No, I'm going out to sea in a bit to play with Lapras for a while."

"Alright, remember to come back for dinner."

"Got it."

Lucas continued walking towards the Central Plaza of Twinleaf Town.

Rhyperior brought Alcremie to the front of the Dessert Shop. Alcremie picked out a few desserts, and then Rhyperior pulled out a Voucher and handed it to the owner.

The owner curiously took it and saw a line of text written on the Voucher: The cost of their purchases will be paid by the Breeding House later.

There was also Lucas's signature at the end.

The owner suddenly understood—so they were Pokémon from the Breeding House. After taking out a small notebook to record it, he handed the Voucher back to Rhyperior.

"Take care."

Rhyperior took back the Voucher and looked at the small card in confusion, not understanding why this little card meant it didn't have to give money.

But seeing Alcremie sitting on its shoulder looking very happy, it was happy too.

"Roar!"

Let's go, what else do you want to buy? I'll buy it for you.

At this time, another customer from elsewhere in front of the shop saw that Rhyperior didn't have to pay and asked curiously, "Boss, do those Rhyperior not have to pay?"

The owner smiled and replied, "They do, someone will come to settle the bill for them later."

So the Trainer will come by later to pay.

The customer thought.

However, he continued to ask, "But is it really okay to let such a scary Rhyperior walk around in such a crowded place? Aren't you afraid?"

Hearing this, not only the Dessert Shop owner shook his head, but even the surrounding shop owners shook their heads. One of them said with a smile, "Them? They won't go on a rampage. After all, the delivery services we order all rely on them to be delivered to our doors."

The customer looked completely confused.

The Dessert Shop owner said with a smile, "They are Pokémon from the Breeding House, and the Breeding House's Pokémon are our best friends in Twinleaf Town. The Breeding House owner is also our benefactor. Actually, we didn't want to take their money at all, but the Breeding House owner said it wasn't appropriate, so we can only take their money at a discount."

The customer wanted to say something more, but the owner had already gone to attend to other customers.

At this moment, he saw a Zoroark come to the stall next to him, looking at the Cotton candy on it.

The owner made a Zoroark-shaped Cotton candy for the Zoroark. The Zoroark also pulled out a Voucher, and after the owner recorded it, it left.

Just as Lucas arrived at the Central Plaza, he heard a deep voice calling him.

"Lucas!"

Lucas got off Ninetales' back and looked at Grandpa Yask, who was greeting him.

"Grandpa Yask, Merry Christmas."

"Hahaha, Merry Christmas, Lucas."

Lucas was still looking for Teddiursa when he suddenly heard a deep voice ring out.

"Lucas!"

Then Lucas saw a huge figure rushing towards him.

Seeing an Ursaring at least two meters tall rushing towards him.

Lucas: (>_<)

"Don't come over here!!!"

In the end, Ninetales stepped forward and stopped the Ursaring.

Lucas finally breathed a sigh of relief and looked at the tall Ursaring in front of him.

"Have you evolved, Teddiursa? No, Ursaring."

Ursaring scratched its head and kept smiling.

Grandpa Yask stood by and said, "Last time we went to the forest to steal honey and got caught, Teddiursa evolved into Ursaring to protect me."

Hearing this, Lucas first scanned the area with his eyes and didn't see Vespiquen, then he felt relieved and reached out to pat Ursaring's big belly.

It felt a bit rough, but also quite comfortable.

Looking at that batch of Pokémon who had been emotionally scarred and received treatment at the Breeding House, Ursaring should be the first one to evolve, right?

Among the batch of Pokémon that stayed at the Breeding House back then, some were adopted, like Teddiursa; some stayed at the Breeding House, like Heracross; and some were missing, likely having left on their own, like that Misdreavus that liked to follow Gengar around.

"You're quite sturdy, Ursaring."

"Roar."

Ursaring happily let Lucas pat its big belly.

Soon after, Lucas's acquaintances all approached: Rhys, Grandpa Manny and Grandma, as well as other grandparents, uncles, and aunts.

Gengar had slipped off to play somewhere, Gothitelle and Zoroark were following behind Mime Jr. and Zorua, and Lickitung had gone off to eat somewhere...

Only Ninetales remained by Lucas's side.

After finishing lunch together and exchanging gifts, Lucas headed back to the Breeding House with a huge pile of gifts to prepare tonight's dinner.

After Gengar and the others had played enough, they also followed Lucas back.
