Chapter 262 - Chapter 262 If the League doesn't abandon me, I'm willing...

"Let's go take a look together. I didn't bring anyone with me today, so I need you to lend a hand."

Officer Jenny finished speaking and turned to walk out the door.

Lucas followed behind. A large truck was parked at the entrance. Officer Jenny opened the trunk, revealing row upon row of pokémon eggs.

"Forty-two in total. Well? Satisfied?"

Officer Jenny leaned against the truck, arms crossed, raising an eyebrow at Lucas.

Lucas rubbed his hands together and blew a breath of air onto them.

"Hehe."

Lucas grinned widely.

Officer Jenny rolled her eyes. "Look at you."

She then climbed onto the truck. "Lend a hand, help me move them to the Breeding House."

Lucas watched as Officer Jenny handed him a pokémon egg. He froze for a moment, took it, and then said, "Um, Sister Reese, actually, we could let Gengar and the others do this."

Officer Jenny looked at the pokémon egg in her hands, then looked at Lucas with a smile.

"Next time there's something like this, remember to say so in advance."

She then jumped down from the truck holding a pokémon egg, and Lucas called Gengar and the others out.

Gogoat used Vine Whip to carefully move the pokémon eggs off the truck one by one, then handed them to Gengar and the others.

Gengar, along with Lilligant and the others, took the pokémon eggs, carried them back to the Breeding House, and gently placed them in the incubation room.

Although there were many Pokémon at the Breeding House, for something like moving pokémon eggs, Lucas still had Gengar lead the Pokémon that were usually gentle in their work.

After all forty-two pokémon eggs had been moved into the incubation room, Officer Jenny called out to Lucas.

"Besides the pokémon eggs, the League also selected some items that are quite suitable for the Breeding House for you."

Lucas went over to Officer Jenny's side and watched as she handed him several bags of seeds.

"A person in charge at the League heard that you like planting berries at the Breeding House, so she asked me to give these Berry seeds to you."

Lucas looked down at the descriptions on the seeds; they were all rare and special berries.

For example, Salac berries, which can increase a Pokémon's Speed in a crisis; Liechi berries, which can increase Special Attack in a crisis; and other rare berries.

Such as Yache berries, Kebia berries, and so on.

Lucas pursed his lips, forcing himself not to laugh out loud.

"Oh, right, I also applied for some seeds that you might like."

Then Officer Jenny pulled out another bag of seeds.

Lucas took a look at the description and finally couldn't help but let out a 'wow.'

The Eastern Huang League's very famous tea was said to be grown from these seeds and then processed. He had originally wanted to buy some to see if he could grow them at the Breeding House, but he hadn't been able to find a place to buy them for a long time.

He didn't expect the League to be able to find them for him.

"Thank you, Sister Reese, I love these so much."

Lucas's grin was almost reaching his ears.

Officer Jenny waved her hand, and then she also gave Lucas some Evolution Stones. Lucas only took one look before handing them to Gengar.

"I don't know why you like these seeds so much, when clearly those items are more important for a Breeding House."

Hearing Officer Jenny's words, Lucas didn't mind. "You don't understand. Farming is already etched into the genes of us Eastern Huang people."

"Putting in sweat and harvesting fruit—there's nothing more joyful than that. Especially when the harvested fruit can be processed into delicious food. Then you make it into a feast, invite your good friends, and with your favorite Pokémon gathered around a table, eating, chatting, and watching the Pokémon play with each other... that's the kind of life I like."

Hearing Lucas's words, Officer Jenny laughed. "True, during my time at the Breeding House, I've come to like this kind of life too."

Then she clapped her hands. "Let's go, let's go see those pokémon eggs you've been pining for."

Lucas handed the seeds to Gengar beside him, instructing it to protect them well. Gengar patted its chest, guaranteeing it would protect the seeds.

Only after Lucas and Officer Jenny walked into the Breeding House did it sneakily look around. Seeing only the Pokémon going in and out of the Breeding House and the occasional passerby, it put the seeds into its four-dimensional pocket.

Coming to the incubation room, Lucas put on a stethoscope and began checking the batch of pokémon eggs sent by the League one by one.

[Abra Egg] [Hatching Progress: 1/30]

[Horsea Egg] [Hatching Progress: 8/30]

[Munchlax Egg] [Hatching Progress: 10/30]

"They're all quite rare pokémon eggs."

Lucas said after checking a few eggs.

Then he continued his inspection.

[Scyther Egg] [Ralts Egg] [Vulpix Egg]—

There were also some relatively common pokémon eggs.

Coming to the last group, Lucas pressed the stethoscope against one.

"A Dratini egg, huh? That's quite rare."

"A Piplup—wait, what's this?"

Lucas thought he had mischecked. He put the stethoscope back onto the previous eggshell and narrowed his eyes to feel carefully.

[Dratini Egg] [Hatching Progress: 1/30]

It really is a Dratini?!

Lucas looked at Officer Jenny with his mouth wide open.

"There's actually a Dratini pokémon egg?"

Officer Jenny shrugged.

"Originally there wasn't. Later, I heard that Champion Lance thought it could be handled by you, and Champion Cynthia also agreed, so the League gave this pokémon egg to you. Anyway, the League had this preparation from the start."

Lucas took a sharp breath.

Dodo-bird, I swear I won't call you Dodo-bird in my next life. If anyone dares to call you Dodo-bird, I'll have a bone to pick with them. You are the one and only Kanto Region Dragon-type Elite!

Lucas spoke up for justice in his heart.

This life? Let's keep calling him that until the next life.

With this unexpected pleasant surprise, Lucas continued checking the remaining pokémon eggs with great joy.

[Piplup Egg] [Chimchar Egg] [Turtwig Egg]—

Several were Starter Pokemon, and there were even two Starter Pokemon from the Johto Region.

Like the one in front of him, [Totodile Egg] [Hatching Progress: 9/30]

And the very last one gave Lucas another big surprise.

[Larvitar Egg] [Hatching Progress: 2/30]

There were seven Starter Pokemon eggs in total, one Dratini egg, one Larvitar egg, and the others were also relatively rare pokémon eggs.

They would have been very rare for Lucas's Breeding House normally, but compared to the last group of pokémon eggs, they didn't seem quite as rare.

Lucas contentedly put away the last pokémon egg, the smile on his face never fading.

"By the way, the League recently destroyed a Team Galactic base and rescued some pokémon eggs from it. Also, there was an avalanche at Mt. Coronet a while ago, and some pokémon eggs were rescued there too. They're planning to sell them to breeding houses , so the League asked me to ask you if your Breeding House needs any. If you do, they'll allocate some to you."

Lucas agreed without even thinking.

Although he really wanted rare pokémon eggs, they weren't necessarily easy to sell because the prices were too high. Relatively common pokémon eggs, on the other hand, actually sold more.

Besides, the League gave his Breeding House discounts. Buying them and keeping them at the Breeding House wouldn't be a loss. If they hatched, they could be raised at the Breeding House to play with Shauna and Mime Jr.

"Alright, they won't even be sold to you at a 90% discount; they'll just be given to you for free. I'll report it when I get back. However, the quantity might be quite a bit smaller compared to this batch of pokémon eggs."

"I'm not picky."

Lucas grinned and continued, "If the League does not forsake me, I am willing to work myself to the bone for the League."

Mainly because the rewards were just too good; they weren't stingy at all.

Rare items, Evolution Stones, seeds, rare pokémon eggs, and even the rights to sell Starter Pokemon and extremely rare eggs like Dratini were being given to him to sell.

It was just too good!

Officer Jenny waved her hand. "Hurry up and pack some good food for me. I want to take it back to eat with Reese."

"You're not eating here?"

"No, I still need to keep an eye on things over at Twinleaf Town. Besides, it's finally a bit quiet here for you, so get some good rest."

"Understood."

"Gengar, light the fire!"

Gengar gargar!

Roger!
