Chapter 215 - Chapter 215: Lois Became a “Superhuman”

"What?"

After hearing Hela's explanation, Lucas felt slightly overwhelmed.

Only now did he realize that, from the very beginning, he had not chosen the easiest path—but the most difficult one.

Previously, seeing powerful figures accomplish this step with apparent ease, Lucas had assumed his own strength was simply insufficient.

Who would have thought that the real problem was that he had done too much?

"Will this… have any negative effects on Lois?" Clark hurried forward and asked nervously.

"There will definitely be effects," Hela replied, waving her hand casually.

"Both her body and soul now surpass those of ordinary humans. In fact, she is already comparable to an Asgardian."

"If this were the Midgard of the past, she would at the very least be considered a heroic-level individual."

Lucas's cheek twitched slightly.

In other words, he had unintentionally turned Lois into someone far beyond an ordinary human.

"…But,"

Lucas glanced at Clark, then at Lois.

On second thought, this didn't seem like a bad thing at all.

"You're called Clark, correct?" Hela suddenly asked.

"Yes. Clark Kent," Clark replied.

Hela lifted her chin slightly.

"You should thank Lucas. With his help, your woman now far surpasses ordinary Midgardians—not only in strength and spirit."

"She also possesses far greater resistance to disease and cosmic radiation, and her lifespan will be significantly longer than that of normal humans."

Lucas looked at Lois, who was still unconscious, and asked,

"When will she wake up?"

"Her soul has just been reintegrated," Hela replied.

"She should wake up soon. Still, I'll give her a little push."

As she spoke, Hela extended a finger.

A strand of green light shot out and entered Lois's forehead.

"I… where am I?" Lois murmured as she suddenly opened her eyes.

"Lois, you're awake!" Clark exclaimed in delight.

Although he already knew she had been revived, seeing her awaken in his arms made him finally breathe a sigh of relief.

"Wait—what about the baby?" Lucas suddenly said.

"When I used the Time Stone to return to the moment of Lois's death, I didn't see the child's soul at all."

He carefully sensed the situation and found that the child in Lois's womb showed perfectly normal signs of life.

"…?" Lucas frowned. He wasn't an encyclopedia, after all.

Hela explained calmly,

"That's normal. Midgardian bodies are weak, and so are their unborn children."

"She was less than four months pregnant. The child's soul had not yet fully formed, so when Lois died, the child's soul dissipated as well."

"In other words, when you revived Lois's body, the child was revived along with it."

Lucas frowned again.

"Wait—does that mean I also modified the child?"

Hela nodded.

"Yes. I observed Clark earlier. His physical body was enhanced through energy—it is not purely innate."

"So even if the child inherits his genetic traits, those traits still require specific energy to fully manifest."

"Baseline physical strength is the foundation. Energy absorption is a separate layer of enhancement."

Lucas understood immediately.

Just like how Clark could be weakened by kryptonite or a red sun—his base physique and his energy-based power were two different things.

"So even if the child were deprived of energy," Lucas asked,

"they would still possess an exceptionally strong physical foundation?"

Hela nodded and looked at Lois.

"That's why you and your child should truly thank Lucas."

"He risked spiritual exhaustion—and even damage to his spiritual core—to save you."

Lois had pieced together most of the situation by now. After Clark briefly filled in the rest, they both looked at Lucas sincerely.

"Thank you, Lucas," Lois said softly.

"Thank you," Clark echoed.

Lucas waved it off.

"No need. Between us, there's no need for thanks."

Hela looked at Lucas with a faint smile.

"I'm suddenly very curious how powerful the offspring we create together would be."

Feeling the intense gaze—one that looked as if she might swallow him whole—Lucas coughed lightly.

"Alright, I'll send them back to Earth first."

Hela smiled faintly.

"By the way, I should let you know—before long, I'll be leading Asgard's army to visit your world."

"It's been a long time since Asgard had friendly exchanges with Midgard."

Lucas sighed helplessly.

"Do whatever you like."

"When the time comes," Hela added lazily from her throne, resting her head on one hand,

"you'd better come greet me personally. Otherwise, this god-king will be very displeased."

"Fine," Lucas replied.

"Just give me some advance notice."

With that, he and Clark left the great hall together.

After returning to Earth via the Rainbow Bridge, Lucas and Clark agreed to meet again in a few days. Clark then took Lois home.

After all, while her body was fully restored, her mental state would still need time to recover—something Lucas understood well.

Psychological issues were hardly uncommon among humans.

"Before heading home…"

Lucas confirmed his direction, then vanished in a blur of motion.

Washington, D.C. — The White House

"So, in summary, I will step down from the office of President of the American Federation within one week and voluntarily submit myself to trial."

Standing on the White House lawn, Ellis finished his statement into the microphone.

Reporters immediately raised their hands to ask questions.

At that moment, a flash of light descended from the sky, and Lucas landed directly on the podium.

"Lucas? Why are you here?" Ellis asked in surprise, waving off the Secret Service agents who rushed forward.

"I'm here to tell you a few things," Lucas said, glancing at the reporters.

The reporters instantly fell silent and sat obediently.

"Since you're already holding a press conference, I'll say it here."

Lucas continued,

"Before long, Asgard's new God-Queen will personally visit Midgard for a friendly diplomatic exchange."

"Yes—Midgard is Earth."

"Since you're the President of America, you'll need to attend the reception."

Ellis felt a headache coming on.

"Asgard… that's the place where Thor comes from, right?"

Lucas nodded.

"Correct. More precisely, the Nordic gods of ancient mythology."

Ellis took a deep breath.

"That's… a massive piece of news. Is Odin dead? Who's the new God-Queen?"

"Odin isn't dead," Lucas replied.

"He simply abdicated the throne to Hela."

Ellis, being well-read, immediately reacted.

"You mean… Hela, the Goddess of Death of the Aesir?"

"Yes," Lucas said calmly.

"Her."
