Chapter 89 - Chapter 89: A Man Like a God

Bang!

The impact sounded different from before. Orm's vision went black as a single punch nearly knocked him unconscious.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Punch after punch landed without mercy. Lucas kept beating Orm down, faithfully carrying out exactly what he had promised.

"Heh—still alive?" Lucas frowned slightly as he looked at Orm, who had gone limp in his grip like a dead dog.

'Did I overdo it?'

At that very moment, Orm—who looked completely powerless—suddenly erupted with energy, wrenching himself free from Lucas's grasp.

Then he turned and fled like the wind, sprinting back the way he had come.

Lucas raised an eyebrow and chuckled.

"Interesting. Playing dead to fool me, huh?"

---

Orm was running for his life.

Tears and snot streamed down his face, but he didn't dare care. He had only one thought:

Get back to the ocean. Now.

Why had no one ever told him there was a monster like this on land?!

If he had known, he would never have strutted onto the battlefield like that.

No—he wasn't running.

This was a strategic relocation of the battlefield.

After all, land was humanity's home turf. Fighting here was unfair to a sea king like him.

As Orm desperately soothed his shattered pride, he clung to one belief:

'As long as I retreat to the sea, I will still be the invincible Ocean Master.'

---

Lucas didn't chase immediately. Instead, he waited a few seconds.

Whoosh!

Kara flew in and tossed him a fist-sized device.

"He ran?" she asked, surprised.

"Yeah," Lucas replied, pocketing the device.

Kara looked puzzled. She had heard countless stories about how terrifying Orm was—yet he'd been beaten into retreat this quickly?

She wasn't the only one stunned.

Everyone watching felt the same shock.

Orm's strength had already been carved into their minds—just look at his fights with Deadshot and Iron Man.

But the moment Lucas appeared, that devil-like Ocean Master looked no stronger than a child before him.

When the thunder gathered, the entire world held its breath.

And when Lucas stood bathed in lightning like a god—when his fists shattered Orm's thunder armor—

The world erupted into cheers.

Yes—cheers.

Neither Iron Man nor Deadshot had ever made them feel like this.

"Look—he's about to run into the Atlantean army!"

Everyone turned back to the screen.

They saw Lucas hovering before the vast Atlantean host, gazing down at the densely packed troops below.

"Lucas," Kara said gently, "they're still a civilization. You don't need to go too far."

Lucas turned to her.

"Kara—if they conquer the land, what do you think humanity becomes to them?"

Kara fell silent.

"I know you respect life," Lucas continued, "but mercy today means they'll never stop coveting the surface."

"Why do humans create laws? Prisons? The death penalty?"

"To teach consequences."

He smiled faintly.

"They need a lesson so deep it kills any thought of returning."

Kara nodded, understanding at last.

"Thank you, Lucas."

"Wait for me," Lucas said—and flew straight toward the Atlantean army.

---

As he approached, soldiers raised their weapons and opened fire.

Energy beams filled the sky.

"Seriously," Lucas muttered calmly. "Pain really is the only language you understand."

The barrage struck him—yet couldn't even disturb the thin layer of protective energy around his body.

Lucas raised his palm.

Light flickered—and countless energy orbs formed, raining down into the Atlantean ranks.

Explosions bloomed like fireworks. Screams and shockwaves merged into a symphony of destruction.

For the Atlantean soldiers, it was hell.

Their toughest amphibious war vehicles and towering jellyfish turrets couldn't even hit Lucas.

Before they could fire again, they were swallowed whole by violent blasts.

Suddenly, Lucas sensed a massive surge of energy.

He turned.

A super sea conch several hundred meters away had locked onto him—its body glowing like a star-filled night sky as it charged a devastating attack.

Boom!

Lucas accelerated instantly.

The sudden speed caused the conch's targeting system to lose him, forcing it to fire blindly in a desperate area bombardment.

Lucas didn't even look back.

Energy beams slammed into him—but his speed didn't drop by even a fraction.

CRASH!

Lucas plowed straight through the super conch's body, blasting out the other side in a shower of debris.

The legendary deep-sea alloy armor shattered like paper.

Sparks erupted as the conch spiraled out of control, crashing into a half-destroyed skyscraper and collapsing into silence.

Lucas continued forward.

Ahead, massive mechanical crabs formed a defensive line, combining their power into a faint energy barrier.

"An energy shield?" Lucas smiled. "Interesting."

He raised his hand.

A point of light formed—then expanded into a serrated, spinning energy disc.

Hummmmm—

With a flick of his wrist, Lucas released it.

The disc became a streak of light.

The crabs tried to retreat—but the disc sliced through the shield instantly, causing it to collapse like bursting foam.

Their armor—thicker than the super conch's—was cut apart like tofu.

In a single breath, six mechanical crabs were cleaved in half, collapsing lifelessly.

Lucas pressed on toward the coastline, smashing the Atlantean army into total collapse.

No soldier.

No war machine.

Nothing could stop him.

Their attacks meant nothing.

His casual strikes meant death.

This was no longer a battle.

It was absolute domination.

"It's… it's like God himself has descended."

"He's our guardian!"

"Humanity is saved!"

Cheers erupted in the White House command room as Lucas's unstoppable advance filled the screens.
