"President Pei you've been looking checking your watch for some time now, do you have somewhere else to be?" The minister of defense asked
"No I don't, I was just wondering why can't they cut the crap and get straight to the point or do you think that I'm here to listen to the organizer read a speech out loud" Pei Qianhao snarled shoting him an impatient look.
"If you're here for the speech then what are you here for" the minister of defense thought to himself but he didn't dare to say his thoughts out loud
"President Pei it's just a formal procedure that is being followed in every award ceremony" the minister of defense said in a fawning manner. Pei Qianhao wasn't the only one impatient the Mu's were also feeling impatient, Mu Xiu was already used to it so she picked up her phone and busied herself. The organizer was still talking when they spoke to him through the earpiece, he looked at Pei Qianhao who was looking gloomy and impatient
"So may we welcome Commander Mu to the podium" the organizer announced, Mu Xiu who was engrossed in her chat with Hong Li didn't hear her name been called.
"Mu Xiu you've been called to go the podium" Mu Xiao said snatching her phone
"What! Why's everything happening so fast" she asked in a surprised tone. The organizer repeated himself when he saw that nobody was walking to the podium , Mu Xiu hastily stood up she took a deep breath and walked confidently to the podium as she walked to the podium her aura changed from the cheerful girl into a heroic and strong girl who emitted a dangerous vibe. When she got to the podium she gave a salute and stood up straight, the higher ups also came on stage and congratulated her . Her mind was so occupied that she didn't notice Pei Qianhao's deep gaze, it was like a hunter looking at his prey.
"The president himself will be the one to award you personally for your excellent work, so may we invite the president to present the award" a round of applause echoed. The president then came on stage when Mu Xiu saw his face she was stunned as a member of the special forces she quickly regained her composure and gave him a salute without any expression . Pei Qianhao was still surprised as he looked at her from a closer view, she had really changed over the years he could remember vividly how she was crying miserably the last time they met, now she looked more mature and she is now a successful lady. He placed the medal around her neck then he added one more star to her millitary uniform every body clapped "Congratulations Commander Mu" he said bringing his hand for a handshake
"Thank you Sir" she replied shaking his hand. Wu Ling who was standing beside Pei Qianhao was shocked beyond words when he saw Mu Xiu
"Isn't she the same woman from six years ago but she looked so different from before with her short hair making her look energetic and her beauty had blossomed and she now had a strong and oppressive aura around her now" so many questions were running through his mind but he now understood why the president chose to attend the event personally, it all made sense to him now. After receiving the medal she came down from the podium her platoon of soldiers that she commands started chanting her name she gave them a salute then they all clapped and whistled , then she walked to her family as Mu Linfeng saw his daughter in a millitary uniform walking up to him he was so proud of her even more than his sons achievement.
Mu Xiu walked up to them and gave them a millitary salute " You silly child" Ling Rui said slapping her lightly, Mu Xiu giggled and hugged her mother
"Mom I did it, I made you and Dad proud. Now I'm worthy of being the name Mu" she said becoming emotional
"Xiu thank you for making I and your father proud, but always remember that even if you were a loser you would always be our baby" Ling Rui said smiling gently.
