The purple Byakugan, which had successfully assimilated the eyes of thirteen individuals, resembled a pair of pure white gemstones shimmering with a purple luster—a sight of breathtaking beauty.
At the center of these pristine gems, an intricate purple eight-pointed star pattern emerged. Through each interconnecting pathway flowed a chakra that felt simultaneously serene and remarkably potent.
Yet, deep within this exquisite creation, a faint trace of spiritual energy lay in wait like a venomous serpent, acting like a cancer as it crept along the optic nerves. It quietly unleashed a chaotic, disordered memetic virus—composed of the blended spiritual energies of those thirteen people—straight toward the brain of Hyuga Yu, who had just transplanted the eyes!
It was actively attempting to subvert Hyuga Yu's willpower!
However, with a mere thought from Hyuga Yu, a terrifyingly oppressive shroud of chakra instantaneously erupted from every inch of his body!
This negative spiritual energy, which had been lurking beneath a facade of tranquility, was immediately and forcibly ripped away from his ocular nerves by Hyuga Yu, who utilized his Tenseigan chakra—a fusion of the Wind, Fire, and Yang attributes.
From within that residual energy, Hyuga Yu distinctly felt a profound ambition rooted in the very foundational logic of these eyes: a desire to continuously consume and evolve until reaching the absolute pinnacle of power!
All power came with a price. Anyone who utilized this flawed Tenseigan chakra would inevitably fall under its corrupting influence, ultimately spiraling completely out of control.
At the same time, Hyuga Yu managed to analyze the exact nature of the power these purple Byakugan granted their host.
Closing his eyes for a brief moment, Hyuga Yu snapped them open once more!
The veins around his temples bulged prominently. As his chakra surged, it unlocked a panoramic, top-down perspective that vastly surpassed the visual threshold of a standard Byakugan. The range extended even further than what Hyuga Yu could perceive with his unevolved, normal Byakugan; he was now capable of surveying every single detail within a five-kilometer radius. Concurrently, he gained a kinetic vision that almost rivaled a fully matured three-tomoe Sharingan.
Beyond that, Hyuga Yu slowly raised his hand. A surge of purple chakra instantly erupted from the chakra points in his palm, manifesting on the surface of his skin as a tangible, solid shroud of purple chakra. Elite Hyuga powerhouses possessed the Hyuga Kekkei Genkai required to precisely expel chakra from all 365 chakra points simultaneously; by rotating this expelled chakra, they could execute "Rotation," a formidable defensive nintaijutsu.
Now, further amplified by the purple Byakugan, the quality of this expelled chakra was massively enhanced. Its defensive capability was practically on par with a Tailed Beast shroud. Furthermore, this layer of purple chakra could be reshaped into giant constructs, such as colossal hands or weapons, to unleash devastating attacks.
In fact, under this state, the sheer destructive output of the Hyuga clan's Gentle Fist and Eight Trigrams Palms would be elevated to an incredibly exaggerated degree.
Looked at from this perspective, a complete pair of purple Byakugan—fused from the eyes of twenty-five people—would be more than enough to grant an ordinary Hyuga Jonin the combat capabilities of an elite Jonin, perhaps even posing a threat to a weaker Kage-level shinobi. Should the user already be an elite Jonin to begin with, this added power could potentially allow them to breach the Kage threshold, securing a terrifying level of combat prowess.
Moreover, this was still nowhere near the absolute limit. As more Byakugan were consumed and an individual amassed a greater number of purple Byakugan, the baseline attributes of this power would skyrocket. It was highly probable that even more specialized abilities would manifest, culminating in the final fusion of the giant purple Tenseigan!
However...
It was painfully obvious that this power—predicated entirely on a temporarily constructed pathway system—was fleeting. It demanded both the user's own life force and the sacrificed Byakugan of others as its toll.
The moment the physical and spiritual energy within the newly formed "eight-pointed star" pathways became overloaded or entirely depleted, the pair of purple Byakugan would instantaneously detonate, unable to withstand the sheer mass of the Caged Bird chakra sealed within them.
Before long, Hyuga Yu realized another critical dilemma—
Fusing a single pair of purple Byakugan required twenty-five pairs of eyes, including the user's own. To achieve a complete fusion of a giant purple Tenseigan required 833 pairs of purple Byakugan. In other words, creating a single giant purple Tenseigan demanded at least 20,825 pairs of standard Byakugan; even if one were to create just a single eye, it would still require 10,423 pairs.
Given those numbers, how many members did the Hyuga clan currently have?
Based on what Hyuga Yu had observed in this lifetime, the number of active shinobi within the Hyuga clan hovered at only around five hundred.
Even if one factored in the ordinary civilians, the total population of the clan amounted to roughly four thousand people. This current population size was the result of a stable social order and increased birth rates established over the decades following the creation of the hidden village system.
Back during the Warring States Period prior to the village era, the total population of the Hyuga clan had consistently fluctuated around seven to eight hundred people.
This meant that even if Hyuga Yu were to physically liquefy and fuse every single member of the current Hyuga clan, he would still fall drastically short of the numbers required to forge a relatively stable giant purple Tenseigan!
Nevertheless, the moment an individual awakened these purple Byakugan, it would no longer matter what their personal desires were. Under the persistent influence of the purple Tenseigan chakra and the chaotic, lingering spiritual energies of countless harvested eyes, they would inevitably be driven to take action, obsessively forcing the creation of a giant purple Tenseigan by any means necessary!
Realizing this layer of reality, and connecting it to the string of anomalies that had recently plagued the Hyuga clan, Hyuga Yu felt a deeply unsettling premonition rise in his chest.
Beside him, Kakashi stood frozen like a wooden statue, his eyes wide with absolute astonishment. Even though he had personally witnessed Rin Nohara perform the Sharingan transplant surgery for Obito Uchiha and himself, seeing Hyuga Yu swap his own eyes with such fluid, effortless precision left him utterly floored. How on earth are your eyes functioning like a hot-swappable interface?!
It took a good while for Kakashi to snap out of his daze. Noticing the grave expression shadowing Hyuga Yu's face, he couldn't help but ask, "Lord Tennin... what's wrong?"
Hyuga Yu offered no reply. Instead, he instantly extracted the pair of purple Byakugan from his sockets and slotted his original eyes back into place. A standard Tenseigan might only represent a power at the absolute peak of the Super-Kage level, but a giant Tenseigan undeniably unlocked power scaled to the Six Paths tier. Even if the upcoming event only yielded a temporary, half-formed giant Tenseigan, the resulting catastrophe would vastly exceed anything the current shinobi world could possibly fathom.
If Hyuga Yu's deductions regarding the purple Byakugan were accurate, then this upcoming "Tennin Rivalry"—an event sparked entirely by the sheer arrogance of the Hyuga main house—would ultimately evolve into a horrific disaster capable of endangering all of Konoha, if not the entire shinobi world.
Fortunately—
Hyuga Yu possessed the power to abort this impending disaster right this second.
Moments later, Kakashi watched as Hyuga Yu raised both hands, performing a sequence of five hand seals: Rat—Boar—Horse—Snake—Water. The flame-like mark emblazoned across his forehead began to fade, while the Byakugan nestled within his sockets grew increasingly radiant. At the very center of his pupils, a brilliant, greenish-white luminescence spread outward like falling snowflakes, imparting a sense of nobility, majesty, and absolute veneration to Hyuga Yu's presence. "Tenseigan, Awaken!"
Hyuga Yu could no longer afford to suppress the evolution of his embryonic Tenseigan, nor did he care if this action exposed his exact location to the Otsutsuki clan on the moon. He straight away unleashed the power of his half-evolved eyes!
In the next fraction of a second, his line of sight soared exponentially into the heavens, granting him a godlike, omniscient view that overlooked everything within a twenty-kilometer radius.
Immediately following this, Hyuga Yu slowly turned his head. He compressed his godlike perspective into a singular, laser-focused line of sight. His vision spanned across seventy kilometers, locking directly onto the Hyuga clan compound located forty kilometers away within Konoha's residential sector.
His gaze bypassed his own cramped apartment, cut across the Konoha Tea District, navigated through the increasingly grand and luxurious wooden architectural structures, and finally settled upon Hizashi Hyuga's estate—the very location where the so-called "Tennin Rivalry" was scheduled to commence tomorrow.
Upon witnessing Hizashi Hyuga sitting cross-legged in a meditative stance inside a quiet room, his face masked in sheer coldness, and noting the exceptionally vivid purple chakra pulsating at the absolute center of his cranium, Hyuga Yu's brows knit tightly together. As I thought... this guy has already been mutated.
Staring at the man who had gradually become a stranger, Hyuga Yu recalled their very first meeting along the Kusunami coast. He also remembered how Hizashi had covered up the fact that he had killed Hyuga Tokumitsu, keeping the main house in the dark. Regardless of whatever personal agenda Hizashi Hyuga had been harboring at the time, from an objective standpoint, his actions had bought Hyuga Yu a highly valuable window of time to grow. Ultimately, Hyuga Yu still owed the man a debt of gratitude.
Thinking of this, Hyuga Yu let out a soft sigh. However, within the depths of his eyes, a serene yet absolute intent to kill instantly manifested!
Slowly lifting his palm, a highly concentrated Wind Style: Vacuum Blade materialized within his hand in the very next instant!
Amplified by three distinct streams of Tenseigan chakra—Wind, Yang, and Fire Style—this erratic, distorting blade of light, which resembled a silver serpent, instantly transformed from silver to azure, and from azure to a blazing crimson. Finally, the color deepened once more, turning into a golden beam of light that radiated as brightly as a miniature sun.
"Composite Jutsu: Vacuum Tenseigan Arrow!"
Hyuga Yu curled his index and middle fingers, pinching the tail end of the golden blade of light. As he raised his opposing hand, layers of repulsive force systematically structured themselves within his palm, forming an invisible bow of pure kinetic pressure.
He drew the bow, notched the arrow, and locked onto his target!
Hyuga Yu's gaze fell coldly upon Hizashi Hyuga, forty kilometers away, who remained entirely oblivious to his impending demise.
However, just as Hyuga Yu was about to loose this golden blade of light from the Foundation's headquarters—sending it tearing across forty kilometers to directly assassinate Hizashi Hyuga before he could trigger an uprising—something shifted. Forty kilometers away, inside the quiet room of the estate within the Hyuga compound, the meditatively resting, ice-cold Hizashi Hyuga seemed to sense something. A look of sudden, extreme agitation washed over his features. He grew completely restless, feeling an unexplainable surge of terror seize him in a vice grip. His forehead broke into a cold sweat, and every single strand of hair on his head stood completely on end.
Abruptly snapping his head upward, he stared blankly at the ceiling of the quiet room, his eyes wide with a frustrated, bewildered expression. "Strange... what on earth is this sensation?!"
Within the sockets of Hizashi Hyuga's wide-open eyes, a pair of abnormally swollen, pure white eyeballs revealed themselves. The eyes appeared as though they were being squeezed from within, bulging out unnaturally beneath his eyelids. His pupils were easily twice the size of a normal human's. Deep within those eyes, a dark purple, eight-pointed star pattern unfurled like a blooming flower, and within the core of that very star, successive rings of even smaller eight-pointed stars gleamed.
The number of corners... had actually shattered the twenty-four-point threshold of a standard purple Byakugan, reaching an astounding forty-eight points!
This meant that Hizashi Hyuga had already successfully fused forty-eight pairs of Byakugan into his own eyes.
Driven by a restless anxiety, Hizashi Hyuga instinctively gripped a scroll resting beside him. Contained within that scroll were even more Byakugan that he had systematically plundered from the main house's ancestral shrine.
It was as though only this scroll could provide him with a shred of security.
Right at that moment, a flurry of hurried footsteps echoed outside the quiet room. A member of the Hyuga branch house dressed in butler attire hurried over, his voice laced with urgency. "Lord Hizashi, it appears the Mistress is going into labor! Won't you please come and see her?"
"Labor?" Hearing those words, Hizashi Hyuga abruptly lifted his head, staring at the silhouette outside the room. A look of sudden realization softened his distorted features. "So... it is time for Neji's birth..."
He couldn't help but display a warm, gentle smile befitting a loving father, though the sudden, piercing agony in his eyeballs quickly contorted his face back into a sinister grimace.
Ultimately, Hizashi Hyuga propped himself up against the low table, struggling to his feet as he spoke. "Give me a moment. I shall put on a mask and come out..."
Back at the Foundation's headquarters, inside the subterranean corridor, Hyuga Yu's gaze swept imperceptibly over the scroll held in Hizashi Hyuga's hand forty kilometers away. Having witnessed this scene unfold, his focus gravitated toward Hizashi's highly swollen eyeballs, which flaunted the forty-eight-point eight-pointed star pattern. The fingers Hyuga Yu used to pinch the repulsive force locked in place. He knit his brows, falling into deep contemplation for a brief moment. Ultimately, he shook his head and let out a soft sigh. "I was a step too late after all. To think he has already progressed to this point..."
"Forget it. Though it complicates things... I still owe this guy a favor, in the end."
With that thought, Hyuga Yu dissolved the massive bow of repulsive force and the golden blade of light in his hands. Slowly turning around, he began walking back the way he had come.
Standing before him, Kakashi Hatake felt the suffocating, indescribable pressure in the air instantly lift the moment the golden blade of light vanished. His breathing, which had stalled since the weapon's manifestation, finally flowed smoothly again. Watching Hyuga Yu turn back, walk toward him, and then pass right by him, he found it rather peculiar. "Lord Tennin, Elder Danzo's office is this way. Aren't you going to work?"
Hyuga Yu shook his head, letting out a mocking scoff. "Not anymore!"
Thoroughly bewildered, Kakashi asked, "Then... what are we going to do next?"
Without bothering to look back, Hyuga Yu simply offered a flat response. "Save the world!"
"Huh?"
Hearing those words, Kakashi grew even more perplexed. He had no choice but to quicken his short steps to keep pace with Hyuga Yu.
Before long, he followed Hyuga Yu right back to the front of Orochimaru's office. Knock, knock, knock!
Hyuga Yu rapped firmly on the door.
The office door cracked open slightly, and Orochimaru's elongated golden pupils peered out from the gap. A flash of eccentricity flickered in his eyes as his gaze locked directly with Hyuga Yu's pair of brilliant, gemstone-like Byakugan, which were actively shimmering with a cyan radiance. "Tennin? You..."
Hyuga Yu cut him off, staring straight into his eyes as he spoke plainly. "I've come to ask you for something."
Orochimaru found the situation increasingly intriguing. "What thing?"
"The Curse Mark of Heaven!"
Orochimaru couldn't help but raise his eyebrows. "Who are you planning to kill?"
Hyuga Yu shook his head, responding flatly, "It's for my own personal use."
Orochimaru failed to grasp his true intentions. Yet, visibly, a gleam of pure amusement danced within his eyes—the precise look of someone who had just stumbled upon a fascinating new toy. "Hehe~ Please, come in!"
