Chapter 162 - Chapter 162: The Madness of the Tennin!

Inexpressible, indescribable, imperceptible—it was even impossible to explain this suddenly acquired authority and power through any scientific theory.

Hyūga Yū felt like a lost child wandering in the quantum realm, who had blundered into a cross-dimensional fold and achieved quantum entanglement with some powerful entity existing outside the world.

At this moment, a sudden realization dawned upon him. He slowly raised his right hand into the air, closing four fingers while extending his thumb, as if measuring the size of a cloud in the sky. His pale blue eyes stared up at the heavens through the gap between his thumb and index finger.

This bizarre gesture immediately drew the attention of everyone present.

"What is he trying to do?"

"What is he doing?"

"That gesture isn't a hand sign, nor does it look like the prelude to a jutsu. But with that brat's combat IQ, he wouldn't make a useless move... So, what exactly is he up to?"

Han, who had been charging forward fiercely, slammed on the brakes. He brought his swinging, crimson fist to a sudden halt a mere two centimeters from Hyūga Yū's face, his expression filled with suspicion and uncertainty. On the other side, Rōshi leaped in front of Kitsuchi, spreading his arms wide to shield him. The scattered remnants of the Iwagakure elite, who had managed to survive the two rounds of saturated, map-wiping bombardments, belatedly gathered behind Kitsuchi with grim, tense faces.

Meanwhile, Black Zetsu, White Zetsu, Obito Uchiha, and Kakuzu—who were observing the battlefield's progression from the periphery—braced themselves with absolute focus, staring intently at the suddenly immobilized Hyūga Yū.

However, nothing happened...

In the eyes of the onlookers, Hyūga Yū—who seemed to have entered a more powerful state, stripped to the waist and enveloped in pale blue flames—should have slammed a heavy fist directly into the Five-Tails Jinchūriki's face, beating him into complete submission.

Instead, his brain seemed to have suddenly short-circuited. He stood there performing a gesture that no one present could comprehend, a move completely out of sync with the current atmosphere. He looked like a startled child who had just picked up a glass marble reflecting a brilliant kaleidoscope of colors.

In reality, at this very moment, Hyūga Yū was receiving intermittent, fragmented messages transmitted from the Giant Tenseigan on the Moon. It was a sequence of numbers recorded by the Giant Tenseigan:

$$1.1637\text{E}+15$$

$$1.1589\text{E}+15$$

$$1.1542\text{E}+15$$

Yū vaguely sensed that the unit for these numbers was kilometers. When converted using the suffix "E+15," the resulting distance exceeded three digits in light-years. Given that $1\text{ light-year} \approx 9,460,730,472,580.8\text{ kilometers}$, Yū did some quick math and deduced that these numbers represented:

123 light-years, 122.5 light-years, 122 light-years...

The sequence updated at a frequency of once every seven days. By the time this sequence counted down to zero, approximately 4.6 years would have passed in the shinobi world.

In other words, something from the depths of the starry cosmos was closing in on the shinobi world at a speed of 0.5 light-years per week, and it would arrive in four and a half years.

The Giant Tenseigan seemed to be operating under a pre-programmed function, broadcasting a warning to anyone capable of receiving its signal. In the face of this visible, looming threat, it had unlocked the full authority established at its creation to whoever was qualified to inherit it.

Combining this with the coordinates of the shinobi world and the lore of extraterrestrial visitors from the original series, it wasn't hard for Hyūga Yū to guess that this distance and timeline roughly represented the arrival of the Ōtsutsuki clan.

Yū had long been mentally prepared for the inevitable arrival of the Ōtsutsuki clan, but what caught him completely off guard was the timing... It had been moved forward!

According to the timeline of the original plot, the events of The Last: Naruto the Movie took place two years after the end of the Fourth Shinobi World War, which was the year 54 of the Konoha calendar. Naruto married that year, had a child the following year, and ascended to become the Seventh Hokage around the age of 27.

The extraterrestrial Ōtsutsuki clan members were supposed to arrive in the shinobi world when Naruto's son, Boruto, turned 12 and participated in the Chūnin Exams.

That would be around the year 67 of the Konoha calendar.

But today was February 17th, in the year 34 of the Konoha calendar.

Even if the extraterrestrial Ōtsutsuki invaders were to arrive in the summer or autumn of the year 38 of the Konoha calendar, it was still nearly 30 years earlier than in the original timeline!

What had happened in the interim?

Why was the Ōtsutsuki clan arriving so many years ahead of schedule?

Had the coordinates of the shinobi world been exposed? And if so, how?

Was the data provided by the Giant Tenseigan accurate, or could there be an error?

Why did this crisis occur right when he had just awakened the embryonic form of his Tenseigan?

Had the previous "Tennin" of the Hyūga clan resonated with the Tenseigan in the exact same way when they reached this stage?

And what, exactly, did they see?

Countless doubts and endless questions flooded his mind. Even though Hyūga Yū could now gaze across a distance of 80,000 meters—seeing further and more clearly than anyone else in the shinobi world—at this moment, he only felt a profound, directionless blindness, as if he were a sightless man staring into an endless void.

A sense of extreme urgency gripped his heart. Simultaneously, he finally understood the source of the unease he had felt on his way to the peace talks venue. It hadn't been his own intuition; it had originated from the ultimate weapon of the Moon's Ōtsutsuki clan—the Giant Tenseigan.

This ultimate weapon, forged from the combined Byakugan of the entire lunar Ōtsutsuki clan and carrying their collective will, was not as simple as Yū had previously thought. It wasn't just a tool meant to crash into the shinobi world and destroy the reality created by the Sage of Six Paths.

It was far more than just a weapon!

The closer Hyūga Yū came to the threshold of resonating with the Giant Tenseigan, the more acutely he could feel the frantic, anxious emotions bleeding through the connection!

Countless thoughts flashed through his mind in the span of a single heartbeat, causing him to furrow his brows. It was true that the Giant Tenseigan had automatically granted him authority, but this biological weapon synthesized from human eyes also carried a colossal amount of spiritual energy. Under its influence, an immeasurable quantity of Yin Release chakra had been generated.

Yū had previously harbored suspicions. The Byakugan, unlike the Sharingan, was not supposed to have the side effect of constantly stimulating the user's emotions and driving them toward extremism. Yet ever since he had gouged out and transplanted a Main House Byakugan, the combined chakra of the Byakugan and the Caged Bird seal had consistently warped his emotions. It was manageable during daily research, but once he entered combat, the intense friction of battle would always cause him to exhibit extreme emotions that ran entirely counter to his usual calm demeanor.

Now, Hyūga Yū had found the root of the problem.

Even across the 460,000-kilometer abyss separating the Earth and the Moon, the Giant Tenseigan could still project its massive Yin Release chakra to influence its users, and even affect potential heirs on Earth.

With that in mind, it wasn't hard to understand why the lunar Ōtsutsuki were always screaming about destroying the shinobi world...

After all, living in such an environment, it would be hard for anyone to remain sane.

By directly resonating and establishing a connection with the Giant Tenseigan, Yū physically experienced this harrowing side effect. As the numbers transmitted from the Giant Tenseigan steadily ticked down, an extreme sense of frantic anxiety began to wash over him. It made him feel profoundly tense and unsettled, filling him with an urgent urge to act immediately.

Physically, a nauseating wave of panic gripped his body. His heart rate skyrocketed, restlessness set in, his limbs trembled slightly, his muscles tensed and twitched to the point of near-cramping, and his breathing grew so rapid that he felt a stifling sensation of suffocation!

At this moment, Hyūga Yū snapped his head up to glare at the world before him—at his "enemies." His eyes bloodshot, thin veins spiderwebbed across his sclera, and the prominent veins around his temples and eyes throbbed violently. His face contorted into a monstrous expression!

Within his mind, a hypnotic voice seemed to whisper: "Hyūga Yū, you are the new generation's Hyūga Tennin. You inherit the ultimate desire of our ancestor Hagoromo and our clan. You cannot stagnate. You must do something!"

The moment Yū's gaze locked onto the partially tailed-beastified Five-Tails Jinchūriki, Han, an utterly twisted, bloodthirsty killing intent erupted without restraint!

The voice in his mind, synthesized from countless overlapping human echoes, cheered, rejoiced, and roared in fury, as if pushing him into the very center of a gladiatorial arena!

"Kill!"

"Kill him!"

"Obliterate every obstacle standing in your way!"

"You must grow stronger! You must become powerful enough to master the Giant Tenseigan! The enemy is coming!"

"Advance, Tennin! Advance! Advance!"

"Slaughter the entire world! Forge your throne from their corpses!"

"Absorb all your enemies! Let them all become the nourishment for your growth!"

Yū snapped his head up fully, his eyes wide and his gaze slightly warped. It was as if the person standing before him was no longer a living Iwagakure shinobi with things to protect and an iron will, but a helpless animal pinned to a slaughterhouse table—looking up at him with terrified, trembling eyes, begging and wailing like a hog or a sheep awaiting the blade!

In that exact instant, Han also felt the suffocatingly dense killing intent radiating from Hyūga Yū!

It brought with it a sudden, crushing sense of powerlessness, an realization that it was absolutely impossible to oppose the person before him. Moving forward, he wouldn't even possess the right to beg for mercy.

He felt that he should wail—and the louder he wailed, the more his agonized screams formed a beautiful symphony to satisfy the youth before him, perhaps reducing the agony he would have to endure by a fraction or two.

Because... within the memories passed down to him by the Five-Tails, the generations of Tennin she had witnessed throughout history were precisely like this!

Once a "Tennin" awakened that god-like power, without exception, they would descend into absolute madness!

Han gritted his teeth, suddenly throwing his head back to let out a furious roar: "I won't let you take another step forward! Tennin!"

In the next fraction of a second, Hyūga Yū abruptly raised his head, a tyrannical ferocity painting his contorted face. From his beautiful, pale blue eyes, two icy beams of light shot forth—a terrifying weave of absolute, piercing calculation and extreme, savage bloodlust!

On the edge of the basin, Black Zetsu exhaled a long, heavy breath, his expression tightening slightly. "It's finally beginning."

"What... is beginning?" Obito Uchiha stared intently at Hyūga Yū in the center of the battlefield. His expression froze as he watched the pale blue flames erupting from Yū's body and felt that terrifyingly familiar aura of despair. A terrible premonition instantly reared its head in Obito's heart.

Black Zetsu let out a cold laugh, his voice dropping into a deep register. "The true Tennin... is about to descend upon this world!"

"Wait? The true Tennin? What exactly does that even mean?"

Black Zetsu narrowed his eyes, watching Hyūga Yū as the youth's body trembled in the center of the crater, seemingly fighting with everything he had to maintain control. Intentionally mimicking Madara Uchiha's tone in front of Obito, Black Zetsu spoke:

"Just as I once told you, in this world, wherever there is light, there will always be shadows. Humanity pursues peace yet craves war; they are merely two sides of the same coin. If you wish to gain something, you must be prepared to pay a price."

"For instance, that eye of yours."

"Obito, have you truly never wondered how a weak, pedantic, and stubbornly unyielding clan like the Hyūga—one that clings so dogmatically to ancient, obsolete traditions—has managed to survive all the way into the modern era?"

Obito froze slightly, raising his head as the ominous premonition in his heart grew heavier. "Wh-why?"

Black Zetsu sneered. "If the ordinary members of the Hyūga clan, who live their lives obeying rules and constantly compromising, represent the peaceful facet of the clan..."

"Then, when the clan is pushed to an absolute dead end, the flipped side of that coin is called—"

"The Hyūga Tennin!"

The Mangekyō Sharingan in Obito's solitary eye contracted violently.

Black Zetsu looked at him, letting out a cold grunt before continuing, "Prepare yourself to welcome a future forged from mountains of corpses and seas of blood. That kind of lunatic is far more terrifying than you can possibly imagine... Turning on their own kin and slaughtering everyone in sight is nothing more than a daily routine to them."

Hearing such horrifying information, Obito's expression instantly stiffened. He pressed further, "Then Hyūga Yū... what will happen to him?"

"Since ancient times, the so-called Hyūga Tennin have been destined to be tragic creatures. Without exception, every single one of them falls into a state of madness far more absolute than those who awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan!"

"Born in despair, dying in madness!"

"No exceptions!"

"However..." Black Zetsu chuckled softly, offering a hollow word of comfort. "There's no need for us to worry. That brat will soon walk the path of self-destruction."

"How about it, Obito? Do you feel a sense of relief?"

Obito's face darkened as he stared unblinkingly at Hyūga Yū. Under Black Zetsu's chilling words, he felt a suffocating pressure chest.

It felt as though a dark haze had blanketed his mind. The tiny flicker of hope that had suddenly sparked in his heart was now wavering unsteadily like a candle in the wind, flickering between light and darkness.

At this moment, he suddenly felt like laughing—laughing at his own naivety, laughing at the fact that he had actually harbored such unrealistic expectations. Heh... So this is what the true shinobi world looks like?

I should have known long ago.

This place... is hell.

Meanwhile, back on the field.

His face completely contorted in a mask of rage, Hyūga Yū took a deep, shuddering breath. Then, he made a move. Facing the Five-Tails Jinchūriki, Han, who stood stubbornly before him and was ready to strike at any moment, Yū suddenly thrust his hand forward, snapping his fingers wide open!

"Shut up!"

A savage, frenzied roar—sounding as if he were spitting blood and chewing on raw iron nails—echoed across the entire battlefield in that instant!

Four chakra beads instantaneously coalesced in Yū's palm, fusing together into a highly unstable, glowing green sphere. Without a moment's delay, Yū slammed his hand forward, driving the green orb directly into Han's body at a speed the Five-Tails Jinchūriki couldn't possibly react to!

"Yang Release: Organic Reanimation!"

Immediately following that, he formed a hand sign with his index and middle fingers extended, lashing out with a swift tap!

A colossal volume of Wind Release chakra scalpel blades manifested as tangible, pale blue wind needles. In a single instant, they shot out simultaneously from all 360 degrees, piercing cleanly into the three hundred and sixty-five chakra pathway system nodes across Han's entire body.

"Wind Release: Gentle Fist Style – One Body Blow!"

In the next fraction of a second, everyone present watched in utter horror as Han, who had been in his partial tailed-beast form, crashed heavily to his knees! The crimson tailed-beast cloak enveloping his body dissolved entirely, and the Boil Release chakra he possessed as a shinobi was instantly locked away. The 2.3-meter-tall giant slammed face-first into the dirt, losing consciousness instantly, his entire chakra network completely sealed to the point where he couldn't even manage to crawl.

Behind him, the Four-Tails Jinchūriki, Rōshi, and Kitsuchi—who was still shielded behind him—swallowed hard, staring at the scene in absolute disbelief.

Only now did Rōshi realize that the battle had effectively ended the moment Hyūga Yū first revealed his sealing jutsu and his self-created Wind Release Gentle Fist.

An imperfect Jinchūriki stood absolutely no chance against Hyūga Yū; this was a fundamental mechanical breakdown and a total stomp from start to finish.

But... if that was the case, why did Hyūga Yū feel the need to use his ultimate trump card earlier... that absurdly massive, pale blue giant sword?

It completely defied the pragmatism and combat style expected of a shinobi. If it was done merely to flex his power, it seemed entirely too theatrical and overblown.

While Rōshi was trembling with fear, his mind spiraling into a chaotic mess of anxious thoughts, the very next second, he, Kitsuchi, and every single soul remaining on the battlefield witnessed a scene that defied all comprehension—a sight so utterly shocking it left them completely speechless.

After incapacitating Han in two swift moves, Hyūga Yū—who had truly transformed into the "Hyūga Tennin"—suddenly extended his right hand. Tucking his thumb, index, and middle fingers away, he aligned his ring and pinky fingers, and drove them straight into his own eye sockets!

Pfft!

Blood sprayed violently!

With his bare hands, Hyūga Yū gouged out his own two Byakugan—the very eyes that had been flashing with a pale blue brilliance, radiating that peculiar, snowflake-like hexagonal pattern!

Finally—Bang!

Yū closed his fist, a mask of cold, unfeeling cruelty on his face as he violently crushed the two Byakugan that had originally belonged to the Main House's Hyūga Genko!

In that instant, the entire world fell into a dead, suffocating silence!

Everyone's eyes bulged out of their heads as they stared in absolute disbelief, entirely unable to comprehend the self-destructive act Hyūga Yū had just committed!

"What the... what the hell is he doing?!"

"Has the Tennin gone completely insane?!"
