As a world-class literary work, the Ice and Fire mod was undoubtedly influenced by that book during its creation.
Whether the Dothraki actually existed in the Block World was hard to say, but Dragonbone Bows certainly did.
Dragon bones were the most abundant and versatile material harvested from a dragon's carcass.
Unlike other materials, although the color of dragon remains varied slightly between species...
...the dragon bone items obtained were identical regardless of the dragon type, meaning the crafted items showed no difference.
They could be fashioned into standard tools, instruments for dragon taming, specialized longbows, and even Dragonbone Swords that could be upgraded into elemental weapons.
The overall performance of Dragonbone tools surpassed those made of diamond.
"A dragon's entire body is a treasure, but standard wooden sticks can't support the weight if you want to use them," the Wandering Mage explained.
Regarding dragons, there was a specific book called the Bestiary.
It explicitly stated that due to their immense physical properties, wooden sticks could not be used to craft Dragonbone tools.
To make them, one first had to venture into a Nether Fortress and challenge Wither Skeletons to obtain Wither Bones.
Furthermore, unlike vanilla bows, a Dragonbone Bow dealt no damage on its own and required Dragonbone Arrows as ammunition.
Dragonbone tools weren't 'immune to fire' as some legends depicted, but overall...
...Dragonbone tools and weapons remained exceptionally powerful equipment!
"Dragon bones can also be made into special blocks like Dragon Bone Blocks and Dragon Bone Walls."
"Their common trait is that they cannot be destroyed by dragons. Dragon breath has no effect on these blocks, and a dragon's physical impact won't break them either."
"The Bestiary seemed to record other uses, but..."
The Wandering Mage paused, looking a bit sheepish.
"The book was destroyed before I could finish reading it. My memory of its contents is limited."
Legend had it that the book was written by a dragon-slaying hero and detailed many aspects of these mysterious creatures.
It once circulated through the various chunks, but as the Dragon Clan grew in power, it was hunted down and destroyed everywhere.
Thinking about it, it made sense. Since it was essentially a guide on how to dismantle their race, how could they allow it to survive?
Being able to remember this much was already impressive.
"From the sound of it, dragon bones are the most useful!"
"Only dragon bones can make that level of gear, but according to the Wandering Mage, we have to kill other mobs too!"
"The skull is just a decoration? It looked so cool, I thought it would be powerful!"
"It's probably like the Dragon Head. Look at what happened to the Ender Dragon—it's mostly for show!"
"As expected of a dragon, its heart is bigger than my face! It can even create magical artifacts!"
"Fire Dragon Meat sounds delicious. I wonder if it's better than Hydra Chops!"
"Definitely the Hydra Chops. Didn't you hear the mage? You'll spontaneously combust if you eat Fire Dragon Meat!"
"The Hydra can be roasted by its own magic, and Fire Dragon meat makes you spontaneously combust. Talk about prestige!"
"The Twilight Forest can't even compare!"
After hearing the Wandering Mage's brief description, the bullet chat was buzzing with discussion.
They were all boss-level creatures, and since the Twilight Forest currently held the record for most bosses, the Hydra was inevitably compared to the dragons.
As it turned out, a dragon was indeed a dragon—not something a mere serpent or python could match.
Just looking at the meat, the two weren't even in the same league!
'Bestiary?'
Hearing the Wandering Mage mention the name, Fries made a mental note.
It sounded like an incredibly useful item!
If they could get it early, it would be a massive help to their future development!
As for the Bestiary, Galen Yu didn't pay it much mind.
It was indeed an essential item for playing Ice and Fire, serving as the mod's guide manual.
However, you didn't get it at spawn. You had to craft it using three Dragon Manuscripts, which were found in Dragon's Nests or through limited villager trades.
It was fine to let the kids in the Alliance play around with it, but for him...
...there was no urgent need to make one for now.
Though his memories were a bit distant, he still had a general grasp of Ice and Fire.
He knew the Wandering Mage was right, but whether it was scales, hearts, or the highly practical dragon bones...
...none of those were his main focus.
"Since this Ice Dragon is female, how many eggs do you think we can find on her?"
Having finished looting the Fire Dragon, he walked over to the Ice Dragon.
Facing this question, the Wandering Mage frowned slightly.
"You even know about dragon eggs? You truly are knowledgeable. Oh, I see."
Looking at the Ice Dragon, the mage suddenly remembered the question Galen Yu had asked before the battle.
'Do you think any of those three dragons are female?'
Back then, he hadn't understood why Galen Yu asked. What did gender have to do with combat?
Now it was clear; Galen Yu had known all along that they would win.
He asked because female dragons had a chance of carrying dragon eggs!
Amidst his admiration, the Wandering Mage spoke hesitantly.
"You must know that dragons hatch from eggs and bond with the person who hatches them."
"We've known this for a long time, but to be honest—and please don't laugh..."
"We've known this for a long time, but to be honest—and please don't laugh..."
"No one has ever successfully hatched a dragon egg."
There were many reasons, the most critical being two-fold.
Each egg required a different environment to hatch depending on the species.
This required extensive experimentation, yet the Dragon Clan guarded every egg with extreme care, often keeping them inside their bodies.
There were only two ways to obtain a dragon egg.
They could drop in quantities of 0 to 3 from female dragons at growth stage 4 or higher.
Any dragon had the potential to breed. By feeding them the appropriate breeding food, two dragons of opposite genders but the same element would begin to reproduce.
Dragons were naturally exclusionary. Even different species of their own kind would turn on each other, just like the Fire and Ice dragons from before.
Let alone bonding with 'lower races' like Iron Golems, mages, or villagers.
Thus, the only way was to kill adult dragons, but adult dragons weren't exactly easy to kill.
Without even getting the eggs, how could they plan experiments?
Since no one had hatched an egg, no one knew the specific conditions required.
"Actually, the Black Mage mentioned once that he wanted to raise dragons to fight dragons."
"To unlock the secrets of the dragon egg, he specifically traveled to the dragon chunks. The result..."
He was discovered. The dragons were enraged and threw him into an Obsidian Prison, where he never saw the light of day again.
He only escaped thanks to Galen Yu, though it seemed he hadn't found freedom, only a new cage.
At this thought, the Wandering Mage couldn't help but sigh.
"I'm telling you all this to let you know that hatching an egg is incredibly difficult. If you fail, don't be discouraged."
So many predecessors and Master Mages had failed; it was no shame for a newcomer like Galen Yu to fail as well.
Knowing the Wandering Mage was giving a well-intentioned warning, Galen Yu nodded.
"I was just asking. We might not even find an egg anyway."
Just as the words left his mouth, a round object burst out from the Ice Dragon's corpse.
A dragon egg!
