MONICA's POV
Monica lounged in the backseat of the Maybach, her eyes glued to her phone as she waited for Chadrick to pick up. However, to her disappointment, Chadrick only ignored her call.
Frustrated, Monica tossed her phone onto the seat, then picked it up and called Chadrick again. The phone rang without answer, testing her patience.
"Why won't he answer?" Monica exclaimed, her voice echoing in the car.
Mr. Shaw kept his attention on the road but glanced back with a quiet sigh. Monica had been fretting since entering the car and had not provided a destination. He finally asked, "Where are you going, Miss?"
Monica shot him a sharp look. "To the Murray Group," she replied curtly.
"Got it, Miss."
Monica ignored Mr. Shaw, her blood boiling at the sight of him. He always smiled around Jessica, making her suspect they were related. But her mother, Yolanda, insisted Jessica and Mr. Shaw were not.
