Chapter 149 - CHAPTER 149

The sky did not close immediately.

It resisted.

The crack pulsed, like a living creature unwilling to lose its path. Energy from both the structure and the anomaly rubbed against each other inside it, creating ever-shifting pressure.

Aurelia stood directly beneath the center of the rift.

Her hand was raised.

The light around her no longer merely flowed.

It layered.

Spun.

Formed a large circle that slowly rose toward the crack.

"Maintain the rhythm!"

Kael's voice rang out sharply.

He stood on the right side, his hands moving to form complex patterns in the air. Invisible lines began to take shape, creating a supporting framework around the rift.

Orion on the left.

Silent.

Yet the space around him changed drastically.

Pressure was locked in place.

The direction of energy was restricted.

As if the entire world held its breath to keep from falling apart.

Ragnar.

For the first time, he did not attack.

He stood slightly behind Aurelia.

Energy gathered in his body.

Dense.

Focused.

Becoming a pillar that supported everything.

And on the other side.

The figure from the new system stepped forward.

Its fragments rearranged themselves.

More precise than before.

It was no longer just an enemy.

But part of the mechanism.

"Synchronize."

It said simply.

Aurelia nodded.

The light in her hand intensified.

Brighter.

Deeper.

"Now!"

Everyone moved.

Energy from four directions.

Uniting.

Not colliding.

But locking into each other.

The circle of light touched the rift.

And in an instant.

A reaction occurred.

The sky shook violently.

The crack resisted.

Energy burst out from within it.

Wilder than ever before.

Anomalous fragments tried to break through.

But this time.

There were no gaps.

Kael immediately strengthened the patterns.

"Don't give it room!"

Orion pressed deeper.

"Pressure is increasing!"

Ragnar exerted all his energy.

Holding back the waves that tried to destroy everything.

The figure reinforced the structure.

Sealing every small gap that appeared.

Aurelia remained at the center.

Light continued to flow through her body.

Binding everything together.

But the pressure from within.

Grew larger.

Stronger.

More… desperate.

"It's not enough!"

Kael shouted.

Aurelia realized it.

They were holding on.

But not yet closing it.

The rift was still open.

And from within it.

Something moved.

Not a creature like before.

But… a current.

Dark.

Chaotic.

It struck the layer they had formed directly.

The collision happened.

Hard.

The structure shook.

Small cracks appeared.

Ragnar growled.

"If this keeps up.."

Orion cut him off.

"We won't last long."

The figure stared at the rift.

Its fragments trembled.

Calculating.

Analyzing.

"We need to close it from the inside."

It said.

Silence fell.

But only for a moment.

Because everyone understood—

What that meant.

Aurelia turned slightly.

Her eyes met the figure's.

"You won't come back."

She said softly.

The figure did not answer immediately.

But a few moments later—

It stepped forward.

Closer to the rift.

"That is not a priority."

It said.

Aurelia frowned.

"This is no longer just about your system."

She emphasized.

The figure looked into the rift.

Toward the chaotic current that kept trying to escape.

"Precisely because of that."

It replied.

Silence fell.

But this time.

Heavy.

Yet clear.

It had chosen.

Kael sighed.

"If he goes in…"

Ragnar grinned faintly.

"…then we have to make sure it works."

Orion looked at Aurelia.

"The decision is yours."

Aurelia was silent for a moment.

Just one second.

But it felt long.

She looked at the rift.

At the threat inside it.

At the world behind her.

And finally.

She nodded.

"We do it."

The figure said nothing more.

It stepped forward.

Light and energy around it cleared a path.

It stood directly beneath the rift.

Its fragments rearranged.

Denser than before.

Stronger.

More… final.

Aurelia raised her hand higher.

The light around her intensified.

Locking all other paths.

"Once you go in.."

She said.

"We will seal it shut."

The figure nodded.

A small movement.

But enough.

And without hesitation.

It leaped.

Into the rift.

In an instant.

The pressure shifted.

Wilder.

More unstable.

But

The structure inside began to change.

From within.

The figure began to hold on.

Seal.

Lock.

Kael immediately strengthened the patterns.

Orion increased the pressure.

Ragnar exerted all his energy.

Aurelia—

Poured light into it.

Supporting from the outside.

The rift began to narrow.

Slowly.

But surely.

But.

The resistance from within.

Grew stronger.

The chaotic current did not stay still.

It struck.

Repeatedly.

Trying to escape.

The structure inside cracked.

But did not collapse.

Aurelia felt it.

She could feel the figure.

Still holding on.

But not forever.

"We have to hurry!"

Kael shouted.

The rift grew smaller.

Energy became more locked in.

And finally.

Only a small gap remained.

Aurelia raised her hand high.

Light gathered.

The entire network responded.

Ragnar.

Kael.

Orion.

All connected.

All flowing to one point.

"Now!"

The light was released.

Entering the gap.

And in one moment.

Everything stopped.

The sky.

Closed.

The crack was gone.

As if it had never been there.

Silence fell.

No tremors.

No pressure.

Only… quiet.

Aurelia slowly lowered her hand.

Her breath was heavy.

But steady.

Ragnar sat on the ground.

Laughing softly.

"Crazy…"

Kael wiped his face.

"It worked…"

Orion looked at the sky.

Empty.

Calm.

But his eyes were deep.

Aurelia remained standing.

But her gaze did not rise to the sky.

But forward.

To where the rift had been.

She felt something.

Very small.

But present.

A trace.

Not a threat.

But… a remnant.

She closed her eyes for a moment.

And in that silence.

She knew one thing.

This was not the end.

But a pause.

Because something that had been opened.

Could never truly be forgotten.

And somewhere.

Beyond their reach.

Something still waited.

To return.

The silence felt strange.

Not because there were no sounds.

But because the world seemed not yet used to this peace.

Aurelia still stood in her place.

Her eyes stared at the empty space in the sky, exactly where the crack had been. No fissures. No distortions. Everything was back to normal.

But she knew.

Not entirely.

"The energy… it's still there."

She whispered softly.

Kael turned.

"Do you feel it too?"

Aurelia nodded.

"Not from the outside."

She continued.

"From within."

Ragnar, who had been sitting, stood up again.

He stretched his shoulders.

"Then we just find it and destroy it."

Orion shook his head slightly.

"It's not that simple."

He stepped closer.

His gaze was sharp.

"This is no longer something that stands alone."

Silence fell again.

Heavier.

Aurelia closed her eyes.

Connecting herself to the network.

But what she felt.

Was different from before.

The network was still there.

Still connected.

But… deeper.

Wider.

As if after everything that had happened.

It had not only become a connector.

But the core part of the system itself.

And inside it.

She found something.

Very small.

Very deep.

But… real.

"That trace…"

She murmured.

"…has merged."

Kael understood immediately.

"With the network?"

Aurelia opened her eyes.

Slowly.

"Yes."

Ragnar frowned.

"So we brought the enemy's remnant into our system?"

Orion answered softly.

"Not brought."

"But… formed."

Silence.

Colder.

Aurelia looked at the ground.

She could feel it.

Like a thin shadow hidden among the currents.

Not active.

Not attacking.

But… present.

"If it grows…"

Kael began to say.

Aurelia cut him off.

"It won't be like before."

She looked forward.

Her gaze was deep.

"Because now… it is no longer separate."

Ragnar sighed.

"Meaning it's more dangerous."

Orion nodded.

"And harder to detect."

Aurelia stepped slowly.

Light reappeared in her body.

Softer.

More focused.

"I have to go deeper inside."

She said.

Kael immediately turned.

"The risk is high."

Ragnar grinned.

"Since when did we play it safe?"

Orion said nothing.

But his gaze was clear.

He knew.

This was no small step.

Aurelia closed her eyes.

Her breathing was steady.

She did not move immediately.

She prepared herself.

Because this time.

She would not only touch the network.

She would enter it.

Deeper than ever before.

And perhaps.

Not everything would be the same again.

"I'll hold the line from the outside."

Kael said.

"Maintaining the structure."

Ragnar raised his hand.

"If anything comes out, I'll take it down."

Orion added.

"I'll keep the space stable."

Aurelia opened her eyes.

Looking at each of them one by one.

No more words were needed.

But everything was already clear.

She nodded.

Then.

She stepped forward.

But the step did not move her body.

Instead, it moved her consciousness.

The world around her slowly faded.

Replaced by streams of light.

The network appeared again.

Larger.

Deeper.

More… alive.

Something was different.

Among the currents.

There was a shadow.

Thin.

And moving.

Aurelia did not approach immediately.

She observed.

Felt.

And slowly.

The shadow began to react.

As if aware of her presence.

"So you're here…"

Aurelia said softly.

The shadow did not answer.

But moved.

Avoiding.

Going deeper into the network.

Aurelia followed immediately.

Not chasing forcefully.

She flowed.

Adjusting.

But the shadow.

Was not like the other parts.

It did not follow the current.

It created its own path.

And the deeper Aurelia went.

The clearer one thing became.

This was not a remnant.

This… was a beginning.

Something new.

Formed from the meeting of two systems.

And now.

Growing.

Aurelia stopped.

Not going any further.

She realized.

If she kept going without understanding.

She could be pulled in.

She opened her eyes.

Back to the outside world.

Her breath was slightly heavy.

But steadier.

Kael immediately asked.

"What did you see?"

Aurelia looked forward.

Then said softly.

"Not an enemy…"

She paused for a moment.

"…but something that is learning to become one."

Silence fell.

This time.

Not out of fear.

Because they knew.

What that meant.

Ragnar grinned faintly.

"So we have a new problem."

Orion looked in the same direction as Aurelia.

"Not a problem."

He said softly.

"The next phase."

Aurelia nodded.

Light shone again in her eyes.

"And this time…"

She said.

"…we won't just fight."

She stepped forward.

Her gaze was sharp.

"…we have to understand."

Because what was to come.

Was no longer something that could be easily destroyed.

Something.

That could become the future itself.
