"What position do you want us to try first?" he whispered.


My eyes snapped open, and I shoved him hard against the chest, taking a step back.


He barely moved from the push, only letting out a low chuckle as if my reaction amused him more than anything else.


"There she is," he said, straightening slightly. "I was wondering how long you'd keep that act up."


"That calm, composed little act you've been doing since morning," he said, tapping his temple lightly. "It doesn't suit you."


"And this—" I gestured vaguely at him, "—does?"


I rolled my eyes and turned away from him, moving toward the other side of the room.
