"He apologized right until his final breath," Kayden began softly, leaning his weight against Rhys and comfortably placing his head on his shoulder. Rhys immediately wrapped an arm around him. "I made sure that he fully understood what it's like to lose someone like me before he went. Seeing him die in front of me should have felt heavier, I guess. After all, I had spent years wishing for that man to drop dead. But honestly? I just felt entirely free. It felt like I was finally broken away from the chains of my past."
Leo clapped his hands together excitedly, a proud grin breaking across his face. "Now that is exactly what I am talking about. Executive closure. Have you called Mom and told her the news yet?"
Kayden nodded on screen.
"Well, I guess we can officially say good riddance to bad rubbish. Goodbye to him, then."
