Chapter 1 - 1. The Will

Well, here I was.

Passing out after drinking some alcohol and then getting into a fight wasn't a great ending to my life at all, now at the helm of death itself and in my death bed. I was alone as usual in the hospital, lying down with the monitor beeping every second at my racing heart.

My life was quite pathetic, I was born into Earth as a bright boy, but with my mother passing away at birth and my dad being a dead beat, it wasn't ever going to end well. My life went downhill since, constant failing grades, failed job interviews and homelessness at the end of it all. I was lucky enough to be invited back to the high school reunion party despite my situation, but even then it wasn't what I expected it to be.

My name was Suon, a boy with dreams like any other. I was quite a scrawny boy for a period of my life, often bullied for my malnourish appearance. My latin background also caused more issues and the overall face structure was quite unappealing, as I rarely interacted with females in general or had the experience of love, well for most of my life.

Now I'm currently dying and compeletly alone, can't even be given the will to move.

"I can't even move, just great. I need something to do to pass the time." I decided to try and move my hand, but failed. Everything was just going wrong.

I felt tears welling up, my life never got going even once, the life I wished for, or any of my dreams. I wanted to be someone inspiring, like my idol was. I always admired Luffy from One Piece, someone who can go anywhere and be free and do what he wants and achieve his dreams and have fun, his life was something I craved for.

Soon after, the tears started coming out, as I croaked in pain whilst lying compelled still and unable to move, my life would never be the same again.

"If God is real, please save me.." My voice sounded quite sniffled and broken, as I made my last cry for help.

Suddenly, the whole world turned completely black, I got startled and immediately tried to stand, but failed again.

"What the hell is going on?" I looked up and saw a towering light figure looking down on me, it looked… amazing.

"Hello, human." The voice filled the room, it sounded so angelic that my heart felt relieved form just hearing it.

"I am the one you called for, and it seems like you have passed away…"

"But do not worry! I will give you what you want, the freedom to do what you want and the wish you wanted, to make others happy."

I still looked heavily confused, my eyes couldn't believe that this was even real in the first place, the world didn't even look real anymore.

"I-I have so many questions, is this real? The voice just chuckled quite loudly before stopping and answering,

"Yes, human, but may I know your name to address you?

"My name? It's Suon, that was my name, but who are you?" The voice chuckled loudly.

"I'm a certain God you always seem to dream about, I call myself the Sun God, Nika." The light shone brightly, as I slowly realise and smile for the first time in a long time.

"Nika?!? Like from One Piece??" The voice didn't answer before sighing.

"You humans believe anything, I was more than a fictional character but I won't bother you with my backstory, I'll be sending you to a certain world with my essence and power."

I smiled brightly "What's your power, if I may ask?"

The voice didn't answer the question outright with a hint of amusement in his voice, "Human, you'll see when you rebirth into the world, the power won't be fully yours and you'll have to work hard to unlock the true potential of it in itself."

I nodded before asking another question, "Is this what you meant by freedom?"

The light ignited into a certain form, where he was now looking at my continued paralysed body. His features were not much, he still had the light essence but took that light essence into a human form, now looking down and holding a sort of hat, something made of straw.

"Human, you'll realise what I mean soon enough, it's your life from now on. Follow the will to wherever you want, this is your gift for struggling all those years."

I started gawking before suddenly being pulled into another trance as I blacked out completely into darkness once again.

———-

I woke up suddenly as a baby, my small arms looked quite weird and I couldn't move again, my mind drilling into myself that I haven't moved in a while and it was getting annoying.

But I suddenly noticed a certain woman holding me, she didn't look familiar at all but she looked at me like Iw as her world, completely indifferent towards anyone else and only focusing on me, with a tired dragged smile on her face, her thoughts were quite clear when looking at me. I tried to speak but it sounded like blabber when it came out.

"Congratulations, ma'am. It's a healthy young boy!"

"Thank you, doctor. Is there a reason why he isn't crying?", I didn't realise I wasn't crying as I looked more tired than crying, and suddenly fell asleep again, hearing faint voices as I fell into a trance.

The next moment, I was in the back seat of a car, looking forward to two people in the front talking quite loudly, almost sounding like an argument.

"He's not normal, Betta! He's not crying not even speaking, even the doctors said he might not be right in the head!", the man speaking was, by my guess, the father. He didn't seem quite pleased at all, as I watched on in silence.

"Listen, it's fine. We aren't going to act like our son isn't okay. Maybe he's just.. different?" And I'll assume that's my mother, her smile still echoed in my mind as I looked at her. That was the first time I had someone smile at me in a very long time.

My father sighed before speaking up, "Well, I rather he is someone special. He's our first son, we have three daughters in a row but I finally have a son, I just… want him to be someone who can enjoy life..", the mother seemed hurt before comforting him as we parked outside the house, my eyes started to close again and fell into another trance.

Darn this life…
