After separating from the main group, Luminarie rode towards the Woodland Realm to meet with Thranduil and Tauriel to talk about Thorin's company. If all went well , they would pass through without any incidents, but knowing their lack of luck and her own forgetfulness in not giving them trinkets to protect themselves from the mind illusions of the forest, that was probably not possible. Still, maybe her letter would at least give them a bit of leeway. She just hoped that Legolas wasn't an asshole like in the movie and didn't take Orcrist from Thorin , but on this, she could say it was a gamble like 100,000 to 1.
'Well, maybe I will take some time with Tauriel to check on her skills; after all, it has been many years since we saw each other , ' Luminarie thought as she rode into Mirkwood on Strider. After just a few minutes of journey into the forest, she noticed some webs above. 'Heh, they will have to be more secretive about their ambushes. Those spiders are not like their ancestors. Well , I think I can take some time to play with them and send Strider ahead. The elves know him, so they will send someone here , ' she thought and jumped from her mount.
" Ride to the capital, Strider. Bring them here!" she shouted as she drew her swords. " Well, it has been a long time since I killed some of your kind , but now I can do it even faster and without a scratch , " she said with a bloodthirsty smile on her face when she heard rustling above her. " COME HERE, YOU UGLY MAGGOTS!!!" she roared as her hand with her Ring Íta channeled lightning towards her blades . When she swung them in a crosswise movement into the forest where she heard the spiders, yellow crescents of energy were unleashed from her swords, scorching everything in their path. After about 200 meters of travel, they exploded in a storm of electricity, creating a circle of about 150 meters that was attacked by lightning for a few seconds. When Luminarie looked at what she had done, she whistled and smiled.
" Well, now I know that I can attack Smaug with this, hehe," she said and ran into the forest to chase after the rest of the spiders, but she couldn't find even one, which surprised her. After about an hour of searching, she surrendered to the fate that she wouldn't find any spiders on her way and headed towards the direction where Strider had gone . Two hours later, she met with twelve elves who were following Strider to meet her. She looked around and didn't find her student, which took her by surprise, and asked them where she was .
" Miss Tauriel with Prince Legolas followed the dwarves that escaped from the dungeons," one of them told her. 'Well, it is close to Durin's Day, so I need to move too.'
" Well then, there is nothing I need to do in your Realm. Tell your King to move his ass if he doesn 't want to lose his son in a war with dark forces under the Lonely Mountain, and that he doesn 't need to be anxious as my troops are moving around Mirkwood in numbers greater than ten thousand, so we will have good numbers. Now I am going towards Erebor myself , and if they really awaken that flying lizard, then I will kill it like that thing before my vanishing from history. He will know that I can do it when you say that. Now go , and I will ride towards Esgaroth , " she said, took the reins of Strider, and jumped on him, then went east.
3rd of October, 2941 of the Third Era, Esgaroth, house of Bard
Kili, with his arrow wound from Morgul , was in his bed, pained and feverish. Tauriel looked at him and sighed.
" Even athelas isn't working as much as I thought. He doesn't have too much time at this rate. If only my master were here , " she said, thinking about her secret love, which she buried deeply when she heard that Arwen became Luminarie 's partner . 'Ehh, I was too late to notice my feelings. I just felt them when I saw that they were together, and now I don't have the heart to tell this dwarf that his love would never be reciprocated .' While she was thinking, she heard howling, which made her face pale.
" Wargs ! We need to move, or we all will die. Fili, take the kids with you; we need to move. Oin and Bofur, take Kili; I will fight when they show up. You need to move . " As she was speaking, she heard the door open and saw Legolas.
" My Lord? What are you doing here?" she asked, remembering the fact that Thranduil had exiled her because of his love for her.
" I was following you when I noticed the Orcs and Wargs. Everyone needs to move quickly as they are almost here , " he said while he drew Orcrist, which he took from Thorin when they were in the dungeons. After they went outside and maybe moved about 50 paces, they heard movement behind them. They looked back, and Sigrid screamed when she saw seven wargs and Orcs approaching them. One of them was Bolg, son of Azog, who recognized Legolas and smiled, which made almost all of them shudder. When Legolas looked at Tauriel, they nodded to each other, and Legolas shouted while running towards Bolg ,
" Run from here ! We will buy you time!"
Tauriel, in the meantime, took her bow and jumped onto the roof of the nearby building to shoot at the rest of the orcs, as they were still riding towards the group. In quick succession, she shot five arrows, which made their mark, and two wargs and one orc dropped onto the ground, but she knew that she didn 't have time to shoot them all, as a few would still ride toward the group. So she drew her sword , which was made by Luminarie, and struck one of the wargs , killing its rider in the same motion. The beast wanted to throw her off, but she jumped toward the next target and killed the orc there too, which made them furious. They changed their target from the group, which, even if they left, they could still track, and attacked her. She looked around at her enemies and counted three orcs and four wargs. It could be worse, but it wasn't good either, as she now noticed that all of them were Black Orcs, who were elite among the Dark Forces. If she remembered correctly from lessons with her Master, every Black Orc could kill an untrained elf, so they were dangerous , and in this group, if she didn't make her escape quickly, she could die before Legolas finished off Bolg , if he even could. 'Well , everyone has to die in their time, right, Master ?' she thought and took her stance. 'I just want to see her one last time and feel her hand on my head while she talks to me with a warm voice,' and with this thought, she charged at one of the wargs, which should be quicker to kill than the orcs, as they could defend themselves with their weapons. After a few minutes of fighting, she killed three wargs and one orc. The last warg was whimpering with its front leg cut off, and one of the orcs had his right arm cut off too. Tauriel had claw marks on her left thigh and sword cuts on her left hand and right side of her ribs . She was exhausted, and only her firm will kept her standing. She heard Legolas, who took a horse to hunt down Bolg, who ran off on his warg after being injured and didn't see her state. She wanted to call out to him for help, but she didn't have the strength to do it and almost collapsed when she heard the hard tapping of hooves running in her direction. She looked toward it and saw a black horse with a blonde woman on its back, which was the last thing she saw before collapsing .
Luminarie POV
I was riding at a moderate speed when I heard howling in the direction I was headed, and my face paled. ' An attack when Kili was injured, and now with my training, Legolas wouldn't help Tauriel because he would believe she would be okay alone, but she isn't one for a long fight with a sword when she doesn't even have small pauses in skirmishes.' she thought, urging Strider to ride at full speed. On her way, she saw the silhouette of Bolg and Legolas riding northwest from Esgaroth. When she saw that, she took her bow and nocked an arrow for the fight that she knew was ahead . Riding through the city, she noticed Fili, Kili, Oin, and Bofur with three kids hiding , and she heard the clash of weapons, so she rode toward the sound. What she saw froze her blood, but she didn't stop her movements. She felt behind her that one of the dwarves was running after her, but she didn't look to see who it was. She glanced at her disciple, who just then fell from exhaustion , and she drew her bow, shooting faster than ever, launching ten arrows in two seconds . She started with the closest orc, shooting him in the knee to throw him off balance. The next arrow made its way into his heart, and the last into his head. The second target was a warg that wanted to jump on Tauriel . The first arrow went into its right front leg, the next two arrows hit its chest to strike at its heart, and the last struck its skull. The last orc heard Strider and started to look in her direction, which made him a lesser target, so two arrows struck him in his right ribcage with such strength that they penetrated until their feathers , and the last, like in both enemies before, went into his head. Every arrow was shot in two seconds, and the last hit on the fourth second. Luminarie arrived before Tauriel in the next ten seconds and jumped from the back of Strider. She quickly assessed her condition and almost had a heart attack from fright.
" No, no, you can't die, you foolish child. I didn't give you my permission, do you hear me?! I don't allow it!!!" she roared and started to heal her with everything she had, but life was still leaving her disciple . " No, please, no, you can't leave me like this . Not you too," she began to cry as she increased the input of her magic into the spell, but life was still slipping away from her disciple. 'No, no, no, what can I do that I still haven 't done? Think , think, Stupinarie , think!!!' she thought while she fought with death for the life of her disciple.
