A loud "bang" rang out.

It shattered the original silence of the night.

A large hole was blasted through the roof of Warabihime's room, and a figure leaped out from within.

Under the moonlight, Kael stood on the roof tiles with a look of helplessness.

He was draped in a bright red haori that originally belonged to Warabihime; underneath, he was completely naked.

"Where's your professional ethics? Even if you want to eat me, at least wait until I'm finished. Who changes their tune the moment the clothes come off? I paid for this, you know!"

Kael tightened the haori around himself and snapped at Warabihime—no, Daki—inside the room.

That sneak attack just now couldn't possibly have hurt him, but it really ruined the mood for the night, especially since his "little brother" was already locked and loaded.

He thought it was just a simple transaction of money for pleasure, but in the end, she was still after his body.

Why are female demons so pure-minded these days? Couldn't they be a bit more vulgar?

While I can't let you eat my flesh, it's not like I couldn't have given you some other form of nourishment.

Our Kael has never been one to take without giving back.

"Who on earth are you?"

Daki looked up. Having shed her oiran attire, her current clothing was somewhat revealing. Her long hair cascaded down like silk, and bandages formed by her Blood Demon Art were wrapped around her waist, giving her a truly bizarre and eerie appearance.

"What a question. Am I not your guest for the night?"

Kael met Daki's gaze. Seeing the words "Upper Rank Six" etched into her pupils, he couldn't help but chuckle.

It was a pity the Sound Hashira wasn't here. Otherwise, he would have loved to see an Upper Rank demon get their defenses broken and be roasted until they cried. Just the thought of that scene made him want to laugh.

"What are you laughing at?"

Daki shouted in annoyance. She caught a hint of mockery in his laughter, which made her very displeased.

"I just thought of something funny."

Kael suppressed the corners of his mouth.

"Then die!"

Beside herself with rage, Daki sent six sashes from behind her tearing through the air.

These sashes were essentially Daki's clones, capable of carrying her power and consciousness. Their texture was tougher than iron, yet they were exceptionally flexible.

For most members of the Demon Slayer Corps, every single one was a lethal threat.

Normally, Daki would take her prey to a large underground cavern to enjoy them slowly. That was her larder, used to avoid exposing her identity.

Daki had intended to do the same this time, but she really couldn't hold back.

Kael was simply too appetizing for a demon, to the point that she broke her own eating habits.

To her surprise, she found herself completely unable to do anything to Kael in close quarters.

Seeing that he was already pressing his body against hers, Daki lost her cool and erupted, using her Blood Demon Art and revealing her identity as a demon.

"I'm going to eat every last bit of you later!"

Just as Daki's furious voice fell, Kael's figure suddenly vanished. Before she could react, he heard a teasing voice from behind.

"Do you like me that much?"

Kael chuckled. What he said wasn't wrong.

Ordinary people weren't good enough for Daki's palate; she had high standards for the "color, aroma, and taste" of her prey.

"You bastard!!"

Just as Daki was about to turn around, her vision began to spin uncontrollably.

"Eh?"

Daki instinctively caught her head as it slid off her neck. For a moment, she couldn't process the situation, her previously fierce eyes now filled with confusion.

What just happened?

Daki was undoubtedly a beauty.

But she was also missing a few screws, a fact agreed upon by both the Hashira and the other Upper Rank demons.

Kael brandished his hand like a blade at Daki.

For some reason, it was coated in a faint blood-red hue, condensing into a blindingly sharp edge.

Although the world of Demon Slayer was in an era where the supernatural was receding, with the foundation of eleven worlds behind him, Kael had successfully unearthed a bit of his own extraordinary power.

This primarily drew from the blood qi system of the Goblin world and the sword-skill battle aura of the Jobless world.

In essence, it was an extraction and compression of life force.

There was no fundamental difference from Breathing Styles; both sought power from within.

It was just that Kael's life force was so overwhelming that it could interfere with reality to an extent, manifesting as a sort of life-field buff.

If the "Kael-content" kept increasing like this, he might actually become the source of some kind of supernatural power.

Much like Kibutsuji Muzan, who was the source of power for the supernatural creatures known as "demons."

The difference was that Kael's "Kael" spanned the multiverse, while Kibutsuji Muzan's "demons" were confined to his own world.

"Are you kidding me?"

Daki clutched her head, unable to accept reality. Had she been beheaded just like that?

"Are you going to cry?"

Kael's eyes widened slightly; he loved seeing this.

Hearing this, Daki's nose twitched, but she forced back her tears and snapped back through gritted teeth.

"Who's crying?! What do you take me for? I am Upper Rank Six of the Twelve Kizuki!"

"Tch."

Kael curled his lip in disdain.

"Did you just 'tch' at me?!"

Daki immediately became flustered. Being Upper Rank Six was her proudest identity.

"What Kizuki? Being an oiran has a better future than that."

"..."

Daki blanked for a moment. Did that sound like a compliment?

How should she put it? She suddenly felt a little bit of joy. What was going on?

"Stupid sister, don't be fooled by this smooth-talking man!"

A low, raspy voice sounded from behind Daki.

At some point, under the candlelight, Daki's shadow had stretched out, gradually revealing another thin and deformed figure.

Kael tilted his head slightly, watching as a half-naked demon with black and green hair and a hideous, grotesque appearance crawled out from Daki's back.

"Brother."

Daki murmured instinctively.

At the same time, a flash of blood-red light appeared above Kael's head.

From Kael's perspective, that red light was actually a scythe-like weapon, seemingly formed from solidified blood and muscle, looking every bit as deformed as its owner.

However, this flash of blood froze in the next instant.

"Hmm?"

The green-haired male demon twisted his neck, his bloodshot eyes filled with confusion and shock.

His Blood Scythe attack had actually been pinched between the opponent's fingers?

"Your brother?"

Kael looked down at Daki.

"Yeah."

"Are you biological? How is he so ugly?"

"Don't talk about my brother like that! Even if he is a bit ugly, only I am allowed to say it!"

Daki was still very protective of her brother.

"Alright, sorry."

Kael also felt that attacking a demon's appearance was a bit impolite since it was natural, so he apologized.

"Good that you know better. I'll let it slide this time."

Daki felt that Kael was indeed a pretty good person; it would be even better if he were a demon.

"Stop talking to my sister!!"

The green-haired demon roared in fury, erupting with all his strength. Even the floorboards beneath him shattered, but the Blood Scythe in his hand remained motionless between Kael's fingertips.

"Don't be angry. I don't even know your name yet."

"Gyutaro."

Daki answered for him.

This made Gyutaro even more infuriated, his gaze toward Kael becoming increasingly twisted and hideous.

Setting aside his identity as a demon, as a brother, he could never accept such a frivolous man getting close to his sister.

His other hand condensed a new Blood Scythe, thrusting it toward Kael's eyeball.

However, this time, before the attack could land, Gyutaro's body was sent flying, crashing through several walls and landing on another street.

By now, the people outside had been awakened by the successive loud noises.

But before they could get close, the "Shadows," who had long since changed into security uniforms, began the work of evacuating the crowd.

Thanks to Kael's efforts, many members of the Demon Slayer Corps had infiltrated the government structure, gaining significant secular influence and securing "public service" jobs.

After parting ways with Kael, Ubuyashiki Kagaya had already used Kasugai Crows to send messages to the Demon Slayer Corps, planning ahead for tonight's battle.

Gyutaro surged up from the ruins, his upper body twisted and bent. His spine had been completely snapped in that one hit, and his chest was entirely caved in, with a clear palm print visible.

However, as long as they didn't see sunlight and their heads weren't cut off by a nichirin blade, such things didn't count as injuries for a demon.

"Your frame is quite sturdy. I thought I could blow you apart with just ten percent of my strength."

Kael offered a smiling compliment.

Gyutaro's torso quickly regenerated. Without another word, he hurled the Blood Scythes in his hands, which merged into a blood-red crescent in the air, slicing toward Kael.

Simultaneously, Daki's sashes lunged to entwine Kael.

Jokes aside, the combat synergy these two demon siblings had built over a hundred years was no laughing matter.

They hadn't become Twelve Kizuki from the start; they had risen through step-by-step slaughter, facing threats far beyond just the Demon Slayer Corps' subjugation.

Given the corporate culture of the "Demon" company, being a demon was no easy task.

Kibutsuji Muzan treated his subordinate demons like Kodoku insects, pitting them against each other.

The mortality and elimination rates were no lower than those of the Demon Slayer Corps' Final Selection.

If it hadn't been for Gyutaro's protection, Daki would have been eaten alive by other demons long ago.

(Got him!)

Daki shouted triumphantly in her heart.

Yet, before the joy in her heart could blossom into a smile on her face, she saw Kael wave his hand and tear her sash clones to shreds.

Even if they were real silk, they shouldn't have been that flimsy.

Before Daki could make another move, Kael had already reached out and grabbed her head.

"Wait—"

As the single syllable faded away, Daki's head collided with the Blood Scythe in mid-air, intercepting it.

That hit was quite heavy; Daki's head disappeared into the night, leaving only a headless body kneeling before Kael, looking exceptionally bewildered.

Of course it was bewildered; it couldn't even find its own head.

"How dare you toy with my sister's beautiful head like that!!"

Gyutaro fell into a complete frenzy, his sharp fingernails clawing bloody gashes into his own body.

"Don't talk nonsense. Can you really call that toying? At most, it's desecration."

Kael pointed at him, correcting his terminology.

"..."

Gyutaro might not have been well-educated, but even he knew that "desecration" was worse than "toying." Who was the one talking nonsense here?

After a brief silence, Gyutaro erupted with a roar.

(Blood Demon Art: Flying Blood Sickles!)

He transformed his own blood into razor-sharp blades and launched them toward Kael.

These blades were highly poisonous; an ordinary person would not survive a single breath if even slightly grazed.

At the same time, their destructive power was immense.

In the blink of an eye, the Kyogoku-ya where Kael was located was reduced to ruins.

However, there were no casualties, as Kael had intercepted a portion of the Flying Blood Sickles in advance.

Looking at the trembling proprietress behind him, Kael offered a word of comfort.

"Don't worry, I've bought this place."

He couldn't let the girls lose their home because of him.

Kael was kind-hearted and couldn't bear to see such things. He'd arrange for them to work as hospital nurses later.

What does it mean to be a role model for our generation?

Allow me to strike a pose for a moment.

Although those words sounded reassuring... Sir, who on earth are you?

The proprietress felt like crying but had no tears.

She was sleeping perfectly fine when the roof was suddenly ripped off. This turn of events was simply too abrupt.

But she soon had no time for melancholy, as a man-like demon descended from the sky, a storm of blood blades swirling around him, threatening to grind the entire street to dust.

Seeing this, Kael's gaze narrowed slightly, and he took a deep breath.

He raised his hand, pressing his index and middle fingers together.

Then, like a clap of thunder, a flash of lightning sliced through the blood-red haze of the sky.

The already-formed Blood Sickle art dissipated along with Gyutaro's severed body.

"Thunder Breathing, First Form: Thunderclap and Flash."

Kael drifted down from the air, rubbing the sparks from his fingertips. Aside from his somewhat improper attire, there was nothing to find fault with; he was so handsome it made the girls' legs go weak.

"Kael."

Shinobu Kocho's voice called out from behind him.

The reinforcements arranged by Ubuyashiki Kagaya had arrived.

Besides Shinobu Kocho, there were also the Sound Hashira and the Wind Hashira.

It wasn't that Ubuyashiki Kagaya didn't believe in Kael's strength, but in hundreds of years, the Demon Slayer Corps had never had a victory against an Upper Rank. He needed to ensure absolute certainty.

If it weren't for the limited manpower and time at the moment, he actually would have wanted to call all the Hashira together.

"You're here."

Kael waved a greeting.

"Mr. Sakuragi, what is with this outfit? It's a bit too flashy, isn't it?"

Uzui Tengen looked Kael up and down, his voice sounding a bit envious. Why hadn't he thought of it? Women's clothing was indeed usually flashier than men's.

Wait, women's clothing?

Uzui Tengen almost couldn't stop himself from laughing out loud.

"Hmm?"

Kael shot him a cold look. Uzui Tengen immediately shivered, his body nearly freezing. He was in no mood to enjoy the joke anymore.

"Why are you wearing that?"

Shinobu Kocho asked suspiciously. She could smell the scent of a woman on it, a fragrance that was unfamiliar and strong.

"It's all that demon's fault. She had no sense of honor and launched a sneak attack while I was sleeping. I had no choice but to take her clothes."

Kael explained with a straight face. What he said wasn't technically wrong.

I mean, he was technically "sleeping," wasn't he?
