Before Chris could investigate further, Gabriel sat next to him.
"You should be thanking me for keeping your secret all this time," Gabriel whispered as he glanced at Alexander.
Chris frowned subtly as he could not remember the secret he was talking about. "What do you mean?"
Gabriel gasped dramatically. "So this is what people meant when they said do not bite the finger that fed you."
Chris only looked at him, waiting for him to continue, so he could spill the so-called secret.
"I'm so disappointed in you right now, I thought you were a righteous person. That is why I did my best to keep this secret, because I knew hell would break loose if I said it. Especially someone who has always wanted to take you out of the picture will get the real reason to.
And seeing how frail you are, you have little to no chance of surviving…"
Chris sighed, mentally blocking his ears from the unending ranting.
