Chapter 85 - Chapter 85

As soon as I stepped into the room, I immediately removed the disguise I had been using earlier. A thin sensation, like a layer peeling away, briefly wrapped around my body before fading completely.

My appearance returned to normal.

I let out a soft breath before opening the wardrobe and changing into a white short-sleeved shirt and dark blue shorts. The fabric of the shirt felt far more comfortable against my skin—loose and light, perfect for resting.

After that, I left the room and returned to the living area.

Mei Mei was still sitting on the sofa just like before, her legs crossed casually. Her gaze was once again fixed on the television screen, as if the earlier argument had never happened.

I walked over and sat down on the sofa beside her, leaning back slightly to ease the tension in my body.

Not long after, Shizuka and Rika also came back from the room after putting the babies to sleep. Their expressions were calmer now, and their steps were light as they returned to the living area.

They then sat down on the sofa with us, restoring the relaxed atmosphere that had been briefly interrupted.

"By the way," Rika said, looking at me with clear curiosity in her eyes. "Did the enhancement of the Ten Gates Gauntlet really work that well?"

I nodded and raised the hand wearing the black gauntlet. Its surface looked ordinary, but the energy within it felt stable and dense.

"That's right," I replied. "Now I don't have to bother making movements like opening gates anymore."

I tapped the small black ring attached to the gauntlet with my finger. The sound was soft, almost inaudible, but enough to explain its function. "Just by tapping this ring, I can move from one place to another in an instant."

As I said that, I couldn't help but show a small smile. There was a hint of satisfaction that was hard to hide.

I had indeed found a new way to use my Innate Technique.

The method itself was actually quite simple.

I transformed my purple flame into the shape of a hammer. The fire was not only hot, but also solid, as if it possessed real mass when I held it.

That hammer was then used to enhance the Cursed Tools I had previously created, or even the ones I had bought from the market.

The process wasn't too complicated either.

It only required adding new materials or certain objects as additional components. These materials were first inserted into the purple flame, allowing them to merge and absorb the energy within it.

After that, the purple flame was reshaped into a hammer and used to forge the Cursed Tool that I wanted to enhance. Each strike of the hammer produced small dark purple sparks—compressed energy that was instantly absorbed into the tool.

With this method, a Cursed Tool could be enhanced directly without needing to melt it down and recreate it from scratch.

It was far more practical and significantly more efficient compared to the old method, which required much more time and effort.

Then I began testing it by gradually enhancing the Ten Gates Gauntlet, pushing its limits little by little until it finally reached a point where the Cursed Tool underwent a major change and evolved into the Ring of Thirty Dimensional Gates Gauntlet.

As the name suggested, its basic form still resembled the previous version—a black gauntlet that fit snugly around the hand, as if it had been specifically designed to match the user's hand perfectly.

However, after the enhancement, several parts of the Cursed Tool underwent noticeable changes, not only in terms of shape, but also in the aura it emitted, which now felt deeper and slightly oppressive.

One of the most striking changes could be seen on the index finger of the gauntlet, which was now exposed, as if it had been cleanly cut open on purpose.

The skin of the user's index finger could now be seen directly, no longer covered by any material. On that finger was a pitch-black ring that looked simple at first glance, but the longer one observed it, the more it emitted a strange aura that was difficult to describe—subtle, cold, and slightly unsettling.

The ring was clearly not just an additional accessory.

It did not stand alone.

On both sides of the ring were extremely fine black threads, so thin they were nearly invisible unless observed carefully.

Those threads were directly connected to the glove, as if the ring were an integral part of the entire Cursed Tool rather than something that could simply be removed.

Upon closer inspection, there was a small symbol engraved neatly on the top of the ring—a depiction of a Dimensional Gate.

The engraving appeared simple and unremarkable, yet from that very simplicity came a strong sense of mystery, as if the symbol held a mechanism or power that had not been fully revealed.

The functions and rules of the Cursed Tool had not been completely erased.

Most of its original functions and rules were still retained as before, unchanged in any drastic way and still usable as they always had been.

However, some rules had undergone minor adjustments, and several new functions had also been added to improve the flexibility and effectiveness of the tool's abilities, making it far more practical in various situations.

The most noticeable change could be seen in the way it was used.

Previously, the user had to create a transparent door as an intermediary before being able to move from one place to another. Now, that process was no longer required at all, making its usage significantly faster and more efficient without any additional steps that might slow it down.

Now, the user only needed to tap the ring attached to the glove.

Simply tapping the ring twice with a light motion was enough.

After that, without any meaningful delay, the user would be instantly transported to the desired location, as if the space between the two points had been folded in an instant without leaving any gap.

The destination itself could be determined in two fairly flexible ways.

The user could clearly state the name of the intended location, or simply imagine the place in detail within their mind—as long as that location had been previously marked by the user.

In the blink of an eye, the user's body would be transferred directly to the desired location, without any visible process that ordinary eyes could follow, as if their existence had truly vanished and then reappeared.

Another ability of this Cursed Tool had also increased significantly.

Now, the user could not only move their own body when using the teleportation ability.

They could also bring other objects of considerable size, as long as they remained within the tool's limits.

For example, objects such as a refrigerator, a motorcycle, or even a standard-sized car were still within acceptable range.

However, this ability still had certain limitations that could not simply be ignored.

Objects that were too large, such as buildings or very large vehicles like trucks, could not be transported using this ability, as if there were an invisible boundary preventing it.

The maximum size of objects that could be carried was roughly equivalent to that of an average car—no more than that.

Aside from inanimate objects, the user could now also bring other people while teleporting, making this ability far more useful in various situations, especially in urgent conditions.

However, there was one important rule that could not be overlooked.

That person had to be permitted by the user; otherwise, the ability would not activate.
