Chapter 10 - Chapter Ten-The first frame

Call time was 4:30 a.m.

No one complained.

Not because they weren't tired—

but because today wasn't something you complained about.

Arrival

The building was already awake.

Lights on.

Voices low but constant.

Staff moving like they'd done this a hundred times before.

"ROSIES?" someone called.

Their manager nodded. "They're here."

Bella slowed slightly as they stepped inside.

"…there's a lot of people."

"Stay close," Joanne said.

Not strict.

Just instinct.

An assistant approached quickly, clipboard in hand.

"Good morning. We'll start with makeup immediately—we're slightly behind."

Bella blinked. "We just got here."

The assistant smiled politely.

"I know."

Leah glanced around once.

Cameras.

Set pieces.

Lighting rigs.

Positions.

She was already mapping it in her head.

Makeup Room

The room felt warmer.

Softer.

Like a pause before everything began.

"Sit anywhere," a makeup artist said.

"You must be nervous."

Bella dropped into a chair.

"I'm trying not to think about it."

"That's usually best," the artist replied, laughing lightly.

Mili sat quietly.

"Close your eyes," someone said gently.

She did immediately.

"Relax your shoulders."

Mili exhaled slowly.

"…okay."

Across from her, Susu smiled faintly as her hair was brushed.

"You've never cut it?" the stylist asked.

Susu shook her head.

"It's beautiful."

"…thank you."

Joanne's chair was quiet.

"Turn slightly."

She did.

"Perfect."

Minimal adjustments.

Precise.

Then—

Leah.

The artist paused for a second.

Not confused.

Just… observing.

"We'll keep it natural," she said.

Leah met her eyes through the mirror.

"…okay."

Between Moments

Bella turned slightly in her chair.

"Are we actually ready for this?"

No one answered immediately.

Then—

Mili: "…I don't know."

Susu nodded softly.

Joanne looked at their reflections.

"We prepared."

Leah spoke last.

"…we'll adjust."

Bella let out a small breath.

"Okay… that sounds reassuring."

Getting Ready

Outfits came next.

Fabric sliding into place.

Zippers pulled carefully.

Staff hands quick but gentle.

Mili stepped out first.

She paused.

Looked at herself—

really looked.

"…this feels different."

Susu stepped beside her.

"It looks like you."

Mili blinked.

"…it does?"

Susu nodded.

Bella walked out next, spinning once.

"Okay—wait—I look good."

"You always say that," Joanne replied.

"And I'm always right."

Joanne adjusted her sleeve.

Everything in place.

Exactly how it should be.

Leah stepped out last.

No announcement.

No reaction.

Just—

stillness.

Mili lifted her camera slightly.

"…can I?"

Leah looked at her.

Then nodded.

"…okay."

click.

The Set

When they stepped onto set—

everything changed.

Lights brighter.

Space larger.

Voices sharper.

"Positions soon!" someone called.

"Camera check!"

"Lighting ready?"

Bella slowed.

"…okay. Now it feels real."

Joanne stepped slightly forward.

"Stay focused."

Susu nodded.

Mili adjusted her grip on her sleeve.

Leah looked at the formation marks on the floor.

Then at the camera.

Then at them.

Director's Brief

"Gather."

They moved closer.

"This is your debut," the director said.

No dramatic tone.

Just truth.

"You don't need to be perfect individually."

He pointed at them.

"You need to work as one."

Silence.

Leah's gaze didn't shift.

Joanne nodded once.

They understood.

First Take

"Rolling."

Music started.

Leah center.Movement—

not bad.

But not right.

Mili hesitated.

Bella rushed slightly. Susu lost timing for a second.

"Cut." No anger.

Just not enough.

"Again."Pressure Builds Second take.

Third.

Fourth.

Each time—

closer.

But not there.

Staff moved quicker now.

Less talking.

More fixing.

"Energy is dropping," someone muttered.

"Watch your spacing."

"Stay sharp."

Bella ran a hand through her hair.

"…why does it feel harder now?"

Joanne replied quietly.

"Because it matters now."

Midpoint — Cracks Show

Mili missed a step again.

"Cut."

"I'm sorry," she said quickly.

"It's fine," Joanne replied.

But her voice was tighter.

Susu stepped closer.

"You're okay."

Mili nodded.

But didn't look convinced.

Bella tried to smile.

"We've done this a hundred times."

Leah watched.

Not judging.

Not speaking.

Just—

seeing.

The Shift

"Again."

Music started.

Halfway through—

they fell out of sync.

Not one person.

All of them.

"Cut."

Silence.

The director exhaled slowly.

"Take five."

Break

They sat together.

Not planned.

Just—

naturally.

Bella leaned forward, elbows on her knees.

"Okay… I hate this part."

Mili looked down.

"I keep messing up."

"You're not," Susu said gently.

"I am," Mili replied.

Quieter.

Joanne inhaled.

"We don't have time to doubt."

That didn't help.

Silence stretched.

Then—

Leah spoke.

"You're thinking too much."

Mili looked up.

"…what?"

"You're waiting to get it right," Leah said.

"That's why you're late."

Bella blinked. "That's actually true."

Mili shook her head slightly.

"…but if I don't think, I'll mess up."

Leah stepped closer.

"You're already messing up."

The words landed—

but not harshly.

"Because you're not trusting what you already know."

Silence.

Susu watched her.

Joanne listened.

Bella didn't interrupt.

Leah's voice softened slightly.

"You don't do this in practice."

Mili's voice was small.

"…this isn't practice."

Leah nodded.

"I know."

A pause.

"But it's still you."

That—

settled something.

Mili exhaled slowly.

"…okay."

Final Take

"Ready?"

No speeches.

No overthinking.

Just—

positions.

Music started.

This time—

they didn't chase perfection.

They moved.

Together.

Mili followed instinct.

Susu flowed naturally.

Bella controlled her energy.

Joanne anchored everything.

Leah—

stayed with them.

Not ahead.

Not separate.

With them.

Final beat.

Pose.

Stillness.

"Cut."

A pause.

Then—

"That's it."

After

No cheering.

Just breathing.

Bella dropped to the floor.

"I survived."

Susu laughed softly.

Mili covered her face—

then smiled.

Joanne nodded.

"…good."

Leah stood still.

Then looked at them—

and smiled.

The Announcement

Their manager stepped in.

"Good work."

They looked up.

He continued—

"The debut single and MV release date will be posted today."

Silence.Bella blinked.

"…today?" Mili's eyes widened.

Susu held her breath. Joanne straightened slightly.

Leah didn't react immediately. But her eyes sharpened.

The cameras had captured their first image.

The song was ready.

The video was done.

And now—

the world would be invited in.They had done their part.

What came next was no longer in their control.

But for the first time that didn't scare them.

Because they knew whatever happened

they had already faced something harder.
