"What exactly is your proposal?" Dominic repeated when there was a brief pause across the speaker.
For several seconds, only silence answered him. The faint static from the call hummed quietly against his ear while his expression hardened little by little.
Dominic was never a patient man, especially not when someone deliberately tried to play games with him.
Then finally, the woman spoke again. "It would be rude to discuss such matters across the phone," she said smoothly. "We should meet tomorrow at Royal Hotel by two in the afternoon."
Dominic's eyes darkened slightly at her composed tone. His grip tightened around the phone. "That's all?"
A faint smirk laced her voice as she answered calmly. "For now."
Dominic narrowed his eyes slowly. "Shouldn't it be easier to state your purpose now?" he probed carefully. "You went through the trouble of contacting me first, so why the mystery?"
Even as he spoke, he could clearly perceive how calculated the woman sounded.
