Chapter 414: The Wedding, Part 2
"Damn it! Everyone, attack him together!"
The remaining boys still refused to believe it. They were all the same age, so how could this one guy be so ridiculously strong?
Bang! Bang!
In the blink of an eye, the rest of the boys were floored as well.
Keigo sighed softly. "With this pitiful level of strength, you probably couldn't even defeat my younger brother."
"A younger brother? You have a younger brother? How old is he?" one of the young girls chimed in.
"He's one year old," Keigo replied calmly.
"No way! How could anyone lose to a one-year-old?" The girls didn't believe him for a second, assuming he was merely hyping up his baby brother.
However, because Keigo was so effortlessly cool, they didn't mind his boast in the slightest.
"Ouch, ouch, ow..."
The boys on the floor whimpered in pain.
Keigo added reassuringly, "Don't worry. I excel in both mathematics and human anatomy. Based on the precise angles of impact I calculated earlier, you'll feel a bit of pain at most, but your bodies are completely fine."
So cool!
The moment those words left his mouth, his young fan club swooned even harder.
Tsubaki listened carefully and used her own limited knowledge to calculate the impact trajectory according to human physics and anatomy. To her amazement, his math was entirely flawless. Her eyes sparkled with admiration; Keigo really did possess an astounding reserve of knowledge.
"I'm going to tell the teacher!"
One of the boys suddenly scrambled to his feet and bolted out of the classroom.
Boom!
Shortly after, the other boys stumbled out as well, tears and snot streaming down their bruised faces.
Keigo watched them leave, thoroughly speechless. They're actually going to snitch?
Outside the window, Tobitake Tonbo observed the scene, feeling equally speechless.
It seemed Keigo's upbringing had indeed run into a slight issue; his personality was leaning a bit too far toward arrogance. This made it even more vital that Keigo remain in school. He needed far more exposure to ordinary people to round out his temperament.
He was developing a slight superiority complex. Tonbo could distinctly perceive his son's underlying thoughts through his mind-reading capabilities. Growing up in a hyper-intellectual environment overflowing with advanced research had clearly warped his perspective on the world—just as Ayame had worried.
Fortunately, the boy was still very young. The habit was still easily correctable. Had he been allowed to continue down this path much longer, he might have ended up completely alienated from society later in life.
"Ah, whatever. Children forge their own destinies," Tonbo thought, electing not to intervene directly. "A slight nudge in the right direction will suffice; there's no need for drastic measures. Everyone has their own way of thinking."
Tonbo didn't plan on micromanaging. Given Keigo's exceptional intellect, he would likely calibrate his own behavior before long without letting his pride run completely wild. At worst, he would simply continue to secretly think everyone else's IQ was a bit lacking.
...
As time quietly slipped by, the children continued to grow.
Two and a half years later.
On the outer edge of Konoha, within a colossal residential estate, countless fireworks burst across the sky, displaying the glowing silhouettes of two newlywed couples: Tianyu and Hinoko, alongside Maki and Wataru.
Both couples were officially getting married. At eighteen years of age, they stepped onto the wedding altar with radiant smiles. The lavish celebration was something Tonbo had personally prepared for them.
On the grand screens inside the venue, various sweet moments of the two couples were being broadcasted. Petals crafted from specialized ninjutsu fluttered through the air, while advanced scientific shinobi tools provided mesmerizing visual effects, giving the entire ceremony a distinctly futuristic, high-tech aesthetic.
"Whoa, Dad! Is this Captain Tonbo's house? It's huge!"
A little boy with bright yellow hair, holding Naruto's hand, walked through the Tonbo estate, taking in the surroundings with wide, awe-struck eyes.
It was massive. Along the paths, there were countless exciting gadgets that instantly caught his eye—especially playthings designed for young children, as well as classic shinobi gear like kunai that ninja used to favor in past eras. High-tech displays lined the hallways, and automated signposts were stationed along the walkways to guide guests through the expansive layout. Guests could easily navigate the estate by following the directional displays, ensuring no one lost their way.
Naruto stood there, completely dumbfounded. "Y-Yeah... it's huge! I haven't been here in a while, but I never expected Uncle Tonbo's home to become this advanced and massive. Without these signposts, even I'd end up completely lost!"
In the past, Uncle Tonbo's house had been so modest, situated right in Konoha's standard residential district, and Naruto used to visit all the time. Now that he had relocated out here, the property seemed even larger than the Ninja Academy itself.
They were utterly loaded. Then again, it was only natural—the Tobitake family operated a vast network of commercial enterprises, ranging from the early Ichiraku Ramen franchise to modern publishing houses handling novels and magazines. The family's wealth had expanded exponentially, easily establishing them among the richest entities in the entire Shinobi World.
And that was merely under their relatively low-key public operations. Beyond standard commercial goods, countless shinobi tools and technological innovations engineered by Tonbo were continuously funneled into Konoha's infrastructure development. Otherwise, their personal fortune would be even more staggering.
"Whoa! Can I come play here often in the future?" Boruto ran over to a small coin-operated kiddie ride stationed by the path and tapped the screen.
The ride immediately chimed with a cheerful automated voice: "Daddy's daddy is called Grandpa; Mommy's daddy is called..."
Boruto was thoroughly captivated. The place was an absolute treasure trove of toys.
Hinata, gently cradling her pregnant belly, smiled warmly as she watched Boruto. "You can come over whenever you like. If I wasn't so busy, I'd be visiting frequently too; your father and I are very close with Uncle Tonbo."
Boruto's eyes sparkled. Still, he didn't quite grasp the sheer scale of the village; even a distance of a few blocks could feel like a world away to a child. Even if Tonbo welcomed him warmly, he probably wouldn't be able to visit as often as he wished. After all, the estate was situated quite a distance from Konoha's central district.
Even with the newly operational Thunder Rail system, it was still a bit of a trip. Under the development of the Kaminarimon Company, Konoha had recently implemented a village-wide Thunder Rail transit system, connecting virtually every district in the village. It was precisely how Naruto's family had traveled over today.
"Whoa, Uncle is here too!"
Suddenly, Boruto spotted Neji and Tenten landing gracefully from above, holding the hand of a young boy roughly Boruto's age.
"Boruto, long time no see!" the little boy greeted him with a bright, friendly smile.
"Tonbo, long time no see! Wait... why are you named Tonbo too?"
Boruto suddenly paused as a realization hit him. Why did his uncle's son share the exact same name as Grandpa Tonbo? Wouldn't that make his social standing feel several tiers lower by comparison?
Neji chuckled softly. "Because I felt that Captain Tonbo is a figure truly worthy of emulation, so I named him after him."
Hyuga Tonbo possessed an adorable face, his Byakugan glowing with a subtle, bluish hue—a sign he had inherited a portion of Neji's unique ocular talents.
"Hehe, what are you even playing with? That's so childish! Playing on a kiddie ride?" Hyuga Tonbo teased.
Tenten puffed out her cheeks and scolded loudly, "Tonbo! What kind of way is that to speak? Where are the manners I taught you?"
Hyuga Tonbo quickly reined in his attitude and straightened up.
"Neji, long time no see! Tonbo is looking cuter than ever," Naruto greeted them warmly.
Everyone was a family man now, no longer at an age where they could live without responsibilities. Consequently, they didn't have as many opportunities to gather as they used to, even though the world had transitioned into an era of absolute peace free from battle.
Neji replied, "Yeah. I finally carved out some time to attend Tianyu and Maki's wedding."
In truth, Neji possessed quite a bit of free time; after all, he could fly, and he rarely bothered himself with the opinions of others. Coupled with his natural genius and vast arsenal of jutsu, his daily routines were quite manageable.
"Ah, this wedding is truly grand! To think Tenyu and Maki are getting married in the blink of an eye," Naruto remarked with deep emotion.
His mind drifted back to the years when Tenyu and Maki had handed him the essential training handbooks for aspiring shinobi. Back then, he had been completely led in circles by those two little rascals.
