Chapter 110: Giving Kiba a Cheat Code
Konoha.
The Inuzuka Household.
Hana and Kiba Inuzuka reported the matter of Tonbo Tobitake to their parents. Kiba's eyes were brimming with anticipation. In his mind, an illusory scene had already begun to play: he was sitting in the Hokage's seat, and Akamaru, as the King of Dogs, was receiving the worship of a massive pack of dogs below.
Because of this vision, he was more enthusiastic than anyone about hiring Tonbo as a private tutor.
"I see. Since Kiba is so motivated, let's give it a try," his parents agreed.
Although the Inuzuka clan had no shortage of Jonin, no one was free enough to act as a private tutor for Kiba. Even as parents, their duties kept them away from home more often than not. They knew Tonbo Tobitake—the Captain of the Intelligence Analysis Squad—and his capabilities were beyond doubt.
They were just puzzled as to why he would offer to be a tutor. Was the Analysis Squad that bored? Or was he short on money? Tutoring for cash? He hadn't charged anything when he taught Hana before.
They couldn't figure it out, but they knew it was a good thing for Kiba. They had witnessed Hana's growth under his guidance; Tonbo was indeed an exceptional teacher.
"Yay! I'm going to be the Hokage!"
Woof!
Kiba and Akamaru descended into their own fantasies. Their parents were left scratching their heads—What does the Hokage have to do with you? In their eyes, the personality of the Inuzuka clan wasn't exactly Hokage material.
Hana quickly pulled her parents aside and recounted how Tonbo had "persuaded" Kiba. Only then did they realize what had happened. They were impressed; Tonbo's teaching ability was even stronger than they imagined if he could make Kiba this motivated.
A few days later.
At Tonbo's home, Kiba followed his parents, carrying gifts to pay a visit. His small face was flushed with excitement; he was about to start his path to becoming Hokage and was full of fighting spirit.
When he saw the babies, Tianyu and Maki, he got even more excited. These were his future "little brothers," after all!
"You're Tianyu, and you're Maki. From now on, I'm your Big Bro. Call me Big Bro Kiba!" Kiba sniffed the air, memorizing their scents.
Tianyu and Maki looked at him: "Brother..."
"It's Big Brother, not just brother!"
" Big Brother."
"Wow, so smart! Don't worry, I'll be looking after you from now on." Kiba was satisfied and played with the two children for a while.
The moment Kiba turned his head, Tianyu and Maki simultaneously showed expressions of disdain. They clearly weren't thrilled about calling him "Big Brother." But as soon as Kiba looked back, they flashed their innocent baby smiles.
Wa-ee~!
Meanwhile, Tonbo and Kiba's parents reached an agreement: 200,000 Ryo per month. That was nearly half the base salary of a Jonin. However, Kiba's parents felt they were getting a bargain. Not only was Kiba receiving the influence of an elite Jonin, but they were also dropping off their high-energy son so they didn't have to watch him constantly—much like parents in another world feeling relieved after dropping their kids off at kindergarten.
After seeing the Inuzuka family off, Tonbo returned to his room. The tutoring would start tomorrow, and he wanted to use this opportunity to perform a Ninjutsu experiment on Kiba.
A "Power Leveling" token appeared in his hand, spinning between his fingers. After several days of research, his understanding of Genjutsu had made massive strides. Whether it was "Illusory Taijutsu" or the theory of "Illusion Influencing Reality," he had progressed significantly.
Genjutsu: Iron Body.
Through his recent research, he had successfully removed the side effects, but he had also resolved its excessive power. At the cost of reduced potency, the jutsu had been downgraded from a Forbidden Technique to an A-rank, but it could now be used as a standard attack.
As for the ability of "Illusion Influencing Reality," he was working on the ratio of physical energy to spiritual energy, gaining new insights into nature transformation. Just like Mind Transfer or the Shadow Possession Jutsu, these were all different nature transformations of Yin Release. This was a very clear direction. Once he finished this research, he could develop Genjutsu that influenced the weather.
However, it would take time. Even Naruto, with over two hundred shadow clones, took over a week to master Wind Release nature transformation. Tonbo considered himself talented, but developing a new nature transformation would likely take at least a year. He estimated he would finish it around the time Naruto and the others started school.
This nature transformation differed from his "Eye of the Creator" but would be much more practical in combat.
But that wasn't his current task. His focus was on the "History Insertion" Genjutsu he had been theorizing about. After obtaining the Kurama records, he finally had a breakthrough. Acting as Kiba's tutor gave him the perfect chance for a practical experiment.
"Kiba, be my guinea pig. It won't be dangerous," Tonbo thought, his lips curling into a smirk.
It was all too perfect. He happened to be free, he happened to run into Kiba, he happened to become his tutor, he happened to get the Kurama research, and he happened to have an idea.
Kiba, accept your fate!
It's not like I'm doing this on purpose; this is a gift from destiny.
Naturally, as someone who grew up with modern values, he wouldn't let Kiba be in any danger. Research into "Inserting History"—which was essentially "Inserting Memory"—would be fine as long as he adjusted it to fit the capacity of Kiba's brain. Of course, since Kiba was one of his own, he wouldn't do anything reckless. As the Captain of the Analysis Squad, even if there were fewer enemies caught in peacetime, he still had some subjects. Whether he was reading memories or implanting them was up to him. That was the power of his position.
The version he wanted to study now was for education.
Like using his "Power Leveling" token, he would use Ninjutsu to create a Genjutsu space containing specific insights. This would allow Kiba to experience "genius-level comprehension" during different stages of learning.
This was his research direction. Whether it would succeed and how effective it would be remained to be seen in practice. Compared to combat use, this direction was clearly more suited for education. His research couldn't match Kurama Yakumo's ability to influence entire eras, so it was inferior for direct combat. If changing one person's cognition could change the cognition of everyone associated with them, then it would be worth pursuing for combat, but clearly, it couldn't.
One-to-many vs. Many-to-one; it was like the difference between nuclear fission and fusion. The difficulty was on a different level.
He pulled out his notebook and changed the concept of "Inserting History" to a Support type.
Meanwhile, "Five Senses Manipulation" would be the Combat type.
He added one more: "Deceiving the Body."
"So, for Kiba, I can't just transmit memories directly—that would make a person lazy. I can only transmit different directions of 'thinking logic' for various types of knowledge. I hope the results are strong. Man-made genius... I really am a genius."
Tonbo was very satisfied with his idea. Memories were just data; only comprehension truly mattered. Otherwise, he really would have preferred to just solve everything once and for all.
