The call was shut down by a woman standing alone in a closed dark room, but it didn't even take a second before she called another number.
"I'll be home tonight. Tell her that she should be there; I have an important matter that I need to inform her about."
She didn't wait for a reply before ending the call and just moved toward the windows, dialing a strange number with another phone.
saying softly, "It's been a long time..."
She got silence for a while, only listening to the other end of the phone. Only when she ended this call did she finally realize the noise outside.
She turned, removing the curtains, looking at the crowd outside. The atmosphere was so lively; so many people were running as if they were going to be late for something.
Seeing this, she also turned to change her cloth and leave.
"REGIS"
This place is what we can call a prestigious college, but it's a bit more open, since anyone can get in as long as he has the abilities and, of course, passes the entrance exam. These rules were never broken until recently; that rule was broken for a certain student. Because of that student's status, the school had to enroll him.
But to ensure that student's safety, the school had to come up with a new strategy in which all identities of students enrolled that year will be concealed, and the students aren't allowed to reveal themselves to each other or even the teachers; only the board of directors at the university are allowed to know.
In addition, all students will have to sign an agreement stating all this; the teachers as well signed a confidential agreement that nothing can be leaked.
But this farce reached an end; no matter who you are, you can't prevent nobles' vanity, so the school had to release them from the agreement sooner or later, so in the second half of their graduation year, this agreement would be over.
Right now is the first day in which the students are allowed to reveal themselves, although not everyone did since some of their identities are quite sensitive; they choose not to, mainly to avoid the headache afterwards.
But in general everyone is happy because this day also happens to be the university's 964th anniversary. In addition to the ceremony, the rest of the day is off to do whatever they want.

At such an event there is no doubt students are bound to gossib especially that this place enroles a large portion of commoners who have never seen such a grand selebration in their life,
"This banquet is really something; they sure paid a lot."

"That's a surprise for sure after yesterday's events."
"I heard it too; that woman fell into the lake and almost died."
"I've never seen such decorations in my whole life; rich people surely know how to squander their money."

At a remote corner of the seconf floor of the banquet hall there stand two students in the shadows who seem indifferent to all that's around them, just peacefully chatting.
"These kids haven't really seen the world," a red-haired boy with a well build up physique said while squatting on the floor, to be met by a young woman's voice mocking him from behind .
"Are you sure they are the ones who know nothing about the world? In my eyes, you are the one."
The woman's figure was hiding in the shadows but her eyes that was glowing beautifully in the darck was hard to ignore but that man seemed unbothered shooting words at her face,
"What do you mean, old hag?"
The girl was fuming with anger and instantly stomped on his feet even fought back with words showing off her nice figure,
"Who is the old hag? You brainless, perverted teenager. I am clearly a stunning beauty."
fighting throughout the pain in his feet ,veins about to burst from his forhead as his face turned red from anger ,the man didn't hold back on his words
"A flatty tomboy like you dares to brag about herself, aren't you ashamed?"
"Pervert "
"Flatty"
"Pervert"
"You!"
The atmosphere between the two of them tensed, their eyes glaring at each other seemed like it was shooting arrows non stop ,and they seemed about to hit each other.
A girl came rushing trying to talk them out of it and separate them if possible.she spoke with a gently voice successfully capturing their attention,
"Sylv, Dan, please stop fighting. There are a lot of people today. Just for today, can you please not fight?"
Dan shoved Sylv aside, straightened his hair put a flower in his mouth out of nowhere, leaned towards the girl and didn't hesitate for a second to flirt with her,.
"Beauty, how about we have a din—"
He got slapped to the ground before he even finished what he was about to say.
"Keugh"
He was bleeding on the ground, and people around him just laughed it out ; It was a sight they were used to seeing daily for a whole three year
Sylv clenched her fists lectureing the beaten dan ,"You deserve it, you pervert. Who told you to harass Mariana?...can't you have some decency for even once?"
"Ugh....that definitely hurts " dan pulled his face away from the floor his head slammed hard to the ground that his nose already started bleeding.
He stared at the blood stains on his hand and snapped at sylv right away,
"What the hell is wrong with you? I only asked her for a dinner ,you didn't need to use force, did you?"
She clenched her fists ready to throw another bunch at him, but Mariana held her hand, crying.
"Stop fighting!"
Sylv got flustered seeing her cry; not knowing what to do, she just hugged her, saying, " It's okay " while patting her head.
Dan shouted angrily at Sylv,
"Look what you did; you made her cry."
"This is also your fault, you pervert," she shouted back at him.
But suddenly the atmosphere went silent, and everyone around them was looking at the entrance of the venue. There was a girl wrapped with mysterious aura wearing a black dress with long messy black hair and red glasses, not like the others who were wearing the uniform.
When she entered, everyone was hostle clearly displeased with her pressence as they all started whispering and badmouthing her while giving her strange looks as she walked ahead; even when she sat on her chair, they didn't spare her the humiliation.
"Again with this nonsense," Dan angrily said.
"I really pity her," Mariana said, looking sad, but Sylve patted her head
She said, "You're just so kind, Mari; a woman like her doesn't deserve your sympathy."
She removed her hand from over Mari's head and almost instantly her forhead frowned as she kept talking,
"Everyone has been faking it for years now, but it's not like we are idiots or something. I really get furious every time I see that girl; I just wish I could punch her."
"Careful there, that's a mine you are stepping on." Dan said after switching to a serious face diffrent from his previous playful personality ,"While I agree with some of what you said but you shouldn't forget; we signed an agreement.... and even if we didn't, she is not someone either you or I can easily touch. Don't forget who she is."
Sylv gave Dan a side-eye before saying,
"Sometimes I really forget that you are not actually what you pretend to be"
Dan's lips curled a polite smile saying nothing.
"..."
She only smirked and rotated her gaze twards serenity speaking with a hint of helplessness hidden in her voice,
" but you are right that she is not someone we can mess with since...after all that happened added to this agreement.... this whole mess was done to protect her."
" I thought it was so obvious who she was; I just don't get it. What was the use of the agreement in the first place?!...holding a secret known for almost everyone?!! Is this just a curse for those like us?" Sylv's eyes had a look off disappointment on them as she turned her gaze to the croud.
Dan noticed her mood and immediately had a bitter smile,
"It's disgusting isn't it..., some people managed to uncover the fact that the agreement was hiding her; from that moment on, they didn't hesitate to give her the cold shoulder."
Dan leaned on the chair behind him feeling a little amused ,
"For most people, she is just a spoiled person from an influenced family; little did they know the truth is far more terrifying, either they are stupid or we are the ones who are overly smart"
Sylv smirked upon hearing his evaluation but couldn't help but agree with him,
"When you say it like that, I wonder how those who bullied her will react when the truth is finally known...when she will expose the truth . I don't want to finish this year without seeing it,that would be a waste"
Dan smiled politely as he nodded. "I am actually looking forward to it....the day of the truth i mean."
Maria standing between the two scratched her head feeling annoyed,
"It's not important because we didn't really get affected ,the problem of the identities wasn't really a problem.....how do i put it?...ah..we're on the same track"
Dan and sylv looked each other in the eyes then back at Marianne giving her a strange look
She was taken back by their sudden behavior that she suddenly felt a chill down her spine,
"Wh...what?!"
"I think i told you this before but i will say it again ...some things aren't just for anyone, got it" the way dan said it made it sound like a threat especially that intimidating look in his eyes
She was taken aback after seeing him like that but was saved by the sudden shut down of the lights , announcing the beginning of the celebration.
Daniel stared at her for a few seconds then rolled his eyes away making her feel suffocated inside
'what was this all about?...that disgusting look in his eyes ...what was it for?' Mariana thought
"Oh ! It's about time this celebration finally starts " sylvi said focusing her gaze at what was happening in the first floor
Everyone turned their gazes over to the stage. The principal entered the stage wearing a fiery red veil covering both her head and face,
but from the way she walks,her domineering aura and the eyes that looks slightly upturned at the outer corners convey grace and elegance, you could tell she was a strong, noble lady ,a presence that commands respect
Everyone stood respectfully to greet her all in one steady voice.
"Greetings, lady. 'FEAR' the 9th-cycle magician."
She simply raised her hand and the noise in the room were subdued instantly,
And with that she finally opened the ceremony,
"Welcome everyone from all over the nine worlds...welcome to Regis University's 964th anniversary celebration ,It's a joyous event and also a reminder for us to keep fighting for a brighter future ahead....for the new generation and for ourselves. You all honored us with your pleasant presence. "
The moment she said that the hall erupted with cheering and clapping,

Frar raised her hand signaling them to stop then she continued her speech,
"Today we are only here to celebrate and to compete... 'CUP OF GLORY,' will shine as our stage and the championship will begin starting tomorrow. Everyone is welcome to participate or watch since it's a place were only those who are really strong ...those who can continue till the end ...only those can come out victorious iam looking forward for tomorrow's performance.....the celebration my keep going . That's the end of my speech."
The entire venue exploded with cheers and congratulations, but only one person was nowhere to be seen.
At another place the mysterious girl in black was being led somewhere throughout a long corridor by a group of maids; when they reached a huge door at the end of the corridor, they got stopped by the person at the door, who looked like a maid but seemed of a higher status.
"Only the princess is allowed in; the rest of you wait outside." She said
Then she turned to the girl bowing slightly but her expression seems unwilling as if she was forced into this, she pointed at the door with both hands, saying,
"Please come inside; her majesty is waiting for you."
"Okay," she replied.
The maid opened the door for her; once she got in, the door was sealed shut behind her, and the maid stood at the door again like before.
'What a waste of space, even i am more dignified than that so called princess.....she truely doesn't stand a chance against lady Ellia' the maid thought
Inside the room there was only two people: one is an elf with straight sky blue hair, cold eyes, and fair white skin wearing a crown her presence itself sent the whole room into the ice ages
She was going through piles of documents ,her tone of voice as she talked was so hard and cold deprived from all emotions,
"Speak"
while the other is a male elf with a darker skin tone, black hair, and eyes,with a body covered with tattoos, handing her the documents one after another while carefully observing serenity's every move.
Serenity didn't bow to anyone instead she greeted them with simple cold emotionless words,
"Queen Mother, Assistant Liu."
The pen in the queen's hand broke on the spot as she couldn't help but raise her head to look at serenity ,
"What did you just call me?"
The queen glared at her with a cold stiff expression. She unintentionally released a strong freezing aura that filled the room with blocks of ice.
Assistant Liu calmly said and turned to glance at the princess to check on her,
"Please calm down, your majesty,"
She was surprisingly standing in her place and didn't even flinch,her face was well hidden under her long bangs but you can tell she is still looking her mother dead in the eyes.
Her majesty took a deep breath, melting the ice, and then asked,
"What do you want this time?"
"Queen Luna, I want nothing from you," she said.
Her answer honestly shoked the queen you could feel the trembling in her voice,
"What?!"
Serenity didn't chicken or back down ;she delivered every word with full confidence,
"I already told Assistant Liu on the phone I'm here to inform you, not ask from you. I don't need your opinion nor permission"
Assistant Liu's jaw dropped at that moment he couldn't help but turn his eyes at the queen's direction ,'what kind of a mother-daughter conversation is this?'
He saw the queen's anger flaring up, so he hurried to warn serenity,
"Princess Serenity, I advise you to be careful with your choice of words."
" enough." Queen Luna leaned forward resting her head over her hands while saying with a mix of anger and amusement, "I wonder what those things are that I need to know and have no say in?!"
Serenity answered without hesitation ,"Cancel the engagement with the Right family."
"That's not possible." The queen's respons arrived just as fast
The whole scene left assistant liu stunned for words,'that was fast...i mean super fast...continue...part of taking this job is enjoying the gossip..continue, continue'
Serenity stared at the queen emotionless every word comes out like wond that reopened on her body,
"You talked right away. I guess even if I told you that because of him I almost died, you still won't back down. Well, okay,i never expected anything from you anyway and that's also why it's just informing you,"
Queen Luna slammed the desk with all her strength smashing it into half, saying with rage,
"Canceling the engagement is impossible."
She brushed her hands and adjusted her posture to sit down again talking with the same arrogant tone,
"If he wronged you, we can talk it out, but it can't end."
Serenity tilted her head tonge as shatp as a knife as she blow her mind on her mother all at once,
"Why are you that afraid your daughter Ellia might marry him if I backed out? You don't want to ruin her future, but what about mine? Have you ever thought that I might live a miserable life there?"
"Still you can't," the queen's mind was stubbornly set on that engagment tht her attitude alone made the break up seem like nothing more than a dream .
Serenity let out a big sigh ,the disappointment in her voice is as clear as daytime ,
"I guess you don't get the informing thing. I never asked what you think, nor do I care. Got it?"
"This is a marriage between families; you can't simply back down because you want to. That's not how it works," the queen said.
Sermity tilted her head saying a few harmless words that seemed innocent but in reality a dagger that went straight into the queen's heart,
"Strange, that wasn't the case with you."
Queen Luna released a killing intent aimed at Serenity strong enough it caused a deep wound on her face, but the queen realized it too late.
Serenity reached out to her cheeks, where she felt something dripping; her hand got soaked with blood instantly. She looked at her hand with blank eyes, then looked at her mother again.

At that moment words meant nothing tje silence between tje mother and daughter meant more that any words could ever convey.
Assistant liu standing on the side didn't move or show anything but from inside he couldn't stop questioning their actions ,'what in God's name is wrong with this duo?..at this rate they might actually do it and kill each other'
The queen who saw serenity simply brushing the blood on her face as if it was some kind of dirt felt as if she was pierced with thousands of swords.
she said in a faint voice first time showing her weakness or rather a motherly fear,
"Yo...are you okay?"
Serenity didn't care or respond she kept talking about her business as if she heared nothing,
"Let's go to the second thing...I am leaving," .
"What do you mean leaving? Where do you want to go?!" Those words stunned the queen she failed to process them in time but the moment serenity stated her destination the queen flew into rage instantly
"ALKANA"
"How dare you!? Just a weak human dares to talk to me like that. Who do you think you are?" This time the queen didn't loose control over her killing intent but still the rage and fury in her eyes couldn't be hidden
Serenity looked at her emotionless,
"Isn't it your precious step son's fault i ended up like this?.....Don't give me that betrayed look , you made your choice and It's time for me to make mine "
"Serenity, I didn't mean it like that." The queen seemed concerned about what she said; she got the feeling of opening a wound that's long been healed and forgotten or so she thought.
"Enough!" Serenity coldly snapped her awake from her guilt trap , "i didn't ask for anything just telling you I already talked to my father; from now on I am moving with him."
"No! You can't; I don't agree with that." Queen Luna seemed panicked after she heared her daughter's words , a daughter that is familiar yet foreign at the same time,'It's frustrating '
"You have no say in this matter" she coldly said stopping her mother's every attempt to keep her before it even bgan ,"you already signed long ago. From now on I am an Alkana...a Voldemort no more."
By saying this, Serenity turned and left , leaving them stunned, to start that new chapter of her life without any burden or regrets.
'That was an intertaining gossip for real....but will both of them still be okay after today? ' assistant liu thought
