"First of all, I am strong as hell, so the human would probably never be killed by those cursed spirits," Akira replied to Yaga with a chuckle, shaking his head.
The strongest cursed spirit he ever sensed is Rika, and even then, he could fight back against her. He doesn't think other cursed spirits as strong as Rika exist.
"And second of all, if this is a what-if scenario, and the human dies anyway, then I'll just kill those cursed spirits after, not me who killed the human anyway."
Yaga sat in silence, staring at Akira for a few seconds before letting out a sigh. He resumed sewing his dool, while Akira stared at him in confused silence, with an amused Gojo next to him.
Suddenly, Yaga spoke up.
"You certainly passed the test of whether you are suitable to be a sorcerer... But I have a question for you. Do you care about human lives, or not at all?"
"Because Jujutsu Sorcerers came into existence to kill cursed spirits, saving humans in the process. If, as sorcerers, we don't save humans, then what reason is there for sorcerers to exist?" Yaga finished his words with another question.
Akira felt his lips twitch.
'Didn't know I was speaking with a Modern Socrates over here...' Akira thought with annoyance.
"Of course I care about human lives... As long as they are close to me. Besides, humans die every day from accidents or murder on the news, but I don't see people worrying about them."
"And for your second question... Get a life, I guess. Your life doesn't revolve solely around sorcery, unless you make it revolve around sorcery, you know," Akira held back from laughing as Yaga's lips twitched.
Gojo, on the other hand, was not generous.
"Pfft! He got you there. You do sit in this building sewing dolls every day. I also think it's time you get another hobby. How about playing chess? Old people are into that, right?" Gojo spoke with a grin.
"You little brat! Speak respectfully to your teacher! And as for you, Akira. You passed the test, now get your two asses out of here!"
Akira and Gojo quickly left the room, heading to the entrance of the massive compound, connected to a road that led directly into Tokyo, with Maki already waiting there.
Watching Maki from a distance, Akira sighed in distress.
"I'll send someone called Ijichi to get you to the mission location in a few minutes. I'll leave you to talk with that lioness, bye!"
Swoosh!
Gojo vanished from the place with teleportation, and Akira took a deep breath as he walked to the gate, standing right next to Maki, who didn't take a glance towards him at all.
[10 Minutes later...]
"..."
Akira looked to the side, his gaze landing on a quiet Maki with crossed arms, waiting for Ijichi to arrive with the car and take them to the mission site.
Her expression was calm, and her eyes did not seem to give off anything. Still, a dark and annoyed atmosphere was constantly swirling around her, causing Akira to look a few more times.
"Is my face that interesting to look at? Or do you have something you want to say?" Maki looked at Akira with raised eyebrows. She stared straight into his eyes, waiting for his reply.
"Uh... Did I do something to make you mad?"
"Why would you make me mad? It's not like you could do anything to make me mad," Maki huffed as she looked away from Akira, not wanting to look at his face anymore in case her anger started to increase.
Though she was angry that he didn't even know why she was angry at him, she understood that she had no right to get angry at him for being with Yuka, since they were nothing more than friends.
But that doesn't mean she has to accept it either.
"Well, ever since this morning, you haven't spoken to me, nor have you looked at me... What's wrong?" Akira asked with an apologetic smile, raising his shoulder in question.
He, of course, knew why she was mad at him, but he wanted to make up with her, so Akira decided to just let her rant about why she was mad; maybe it would make her feel better.
"Tch! I told you I'm not mad, so drop it already. Besides, don't poke your nose into my business, it's not like we're THAT close!"
Akira looked at Maki and knew instantly to back off. He sighed in exasperation as he turned quiet, standing next to Maki with his crossed arms on his chest, waiting for the car.
After five minutes of awkward silence, filled only with Maki and Akira's breathing, the sounds of tyres rolling across the ground reached their ears, accompanied by a voice.
"Oh god! I am so sorry for being late, you two! I promise this is not a usual thing! Gojo-san just had so many details to tell me, and we lost sense of time!"
Ijichi panted as he got out of the car, taking a cloth out of his suit pocket and wiping his forehead from sweat. His eyes drooped nervously, while his stance looked low, trying to not attract attention to himself.
Akira raised an eyebrow.
'What a twink...' Akira thought.
"Whatever, just take us to the Location, that's why you're here anyway," Maki ignored Ijichi, huffing as she walked past him. Of course, it had to be Gojo who made him late.
That blindfolded albino!
"Sorry for her attitude, she woke up on the wrong side of the bed today." Akira waved at Ijichi, who nodded his head. Akira walked past him, getting into the back seat, right next to Maki.
Ijichi got into the driving seat and turned the car on, ready to set off for their destination.
"Alright, we'll be going now, you two!"
[Meanwhile...]
Bzzzz~
"EEEK!"
Utahime jumped to the side as if she were a cat whose tail had been stepped on. A fly buzzed past, her shoulders shaking from fright. The flashlight in her hand trembled, her hand unsteady from how much her body shook.
"Calm down, Utahime... It's just a weak, harmless fly." Utahime soothed herself as she continued walking.
The air was dark as Utahime walked past cells, looking around for the Cursed Spirit she had to exorcise. She looked around rapidly, like something was about to jump out and eat her.
Reaching a set of stairs that led up to the second floor, Utahime stopped and took a deep breath to steady herself before starting to climb the stairs, her flashlight pointed forward.
Reaching the step just right before taking a step on the second floor, Utahime looked up, her blood going cold as she locked gazes with a giant eye.
Utahime: "..."
Special Grade Cursed Spirit: "..."
