Chapter 309 - GAM Ch 309: Tom Riddle's First Day

My name is Tom Riddle.

I was born in an orphanage in London, England. From the moment I was born, my mother gave me this name and then passed away due to complications during childbirth.

The children in the orphanage all came here because they had lost their parents. Perhaps because of my personality, I was never on good terms with them.

Or perhaps it shouldn't be called incompatibility. It was more that they didn't submit to my control.

To demonstrate my status and power, I decided to hang a rabbit kept by one of the more unruly children.

Later, I discovered that one rabbit wasn't enough to make them submit to me.

So I schemed and tricked two disobedient children into a cave by the sea. There are always some bad apples on the road to controlling the orphanage.

So I did many, many more things. As I did more and more, I found that they began to accept me.

That is, until a middle aged man named Dumbledore arrived. Because of this, I refused to admit that my methods were wrong or that I needed to apologize.

The middle aged man forced me to repent by setting a wardrobe on fire. I was almost scared to death and ultimately chose to temporarily submit.

Afterwards, I thought that maybe I could have held out a little longer. After all, he wouldn't have dared to actually burn me to death.

After I submitted, Dumbledore told me about my origins and that I had been accepted to Hogwarts. I still didn't know what the school was like.

Dumbledore took me to buy necessities for school. Outside a pub called the Leaky Cauldron, I saw the High claw logo.

I asked Dumbledore if he was mistaken, since High claw was a super corporation in ordinary human society.

However, Dumbledore told me that the owner of High claw was a powerful wizard, even more powerful than himself.

At first, I didn't believe him. I even threatened an orange cat named Garfield Carter who was sitting on the bar counter.

Then, that orange cat hoisted me upside down from the ceiling for half an hour.

He forced me to recite ten pages of a moral education textbook before finally letting me down at Dumbledore's pleading.

During Dumbledore's conversation with the orange cat, I learned that this orange cat was our new teacher.

Looking into its orange eyes, tinged with a hint of red, I felt like I was being stared at by an ancient beast.

A nameless fear seeped into my heart. It was terrifying.

I desperately wanted to leave. Thankfully, Dumbledore didn't linger long.

He took me to Diagon Alley. I retrieved my mother's inheritance from the greedy goblins, purchased everything on the list, and was sent back to the orphanage to await the start of school.

Lying in bed, I fiddled with my wand, recalling everything that had happened that day. It all felt like a dream.

When I remembered those eyes, I was still terrified. I felt I should stay far away from them.

In the Leaky Cauldron, Dumbledore and Garfield talked.

"Old Bee, that kid today is destined to be anything but kind. How could you agree to let him enroll?"

Dumbledore replied confidently, "Just a naughty child. I believe I can educate him."

Seeing Dumbledore's resolute expression, Garfield couldn't help but remind him, "A serpent's offspring is destined to be a serpent."

"Serpents are cold blooded creatures, Dumbledore. You're just a lion. Using your mind to educate a serpent is doomed to failure. You will regret it."

Ignoring Garfield's warning, Dumbledore took a sip of his mead and retorted, "He's only eleven years old."

"Are you going to kill him? Besides, he's a descendant of Salazar Slytherin, one of the four founders of Hogwarts."

"Aren't there other descendants of Salazar Slytherin? Do you know that two snakes from the same nest will devour each other for the position of leader and for rare resources? "

"If the girl dies, you'll suffer an even greater loss."

Dumbledore was instantly furious. He felt there was something more to Garfield's words. Had Garfield encountered something?

He carefully recalled what Garfield had told him before his cosmic adventures years ago. Garfield had said he would definitely return in 1938.

Based on his understanding of the lazy orange cat in front of him, the cat was definitely the type who would rather lie down and sleep than squat.

Dumbledore stared into Garfield's eyes and asked, "My friend, did you see something?"

Garfield mysteriously replied to Dumbledore, "Darkness, intrigue, lies, killing, and death."

Garfield's words were heavy.

They made Dumbledore pay even closer attention to Tom Riddle, this handsome boy with a domineering, strange, and solitary nature.

Garfield spent several lazy months at home.

He finally turned all the gold bars he had used to buy weapons for wreaking havoc on the world into High claw gold bars.

Then he gave them all to Queenie as funding for the High claw Group to support Hogwarts.

Queenie, influenced by years of business acumen, made several changes.

She did not invest the money directly into Hogwarts' treasury. Instead, she invested in real estate in Diagon Alley and valuable magical materials.

This large influx of funds brought fresh blood to the already war stricken British wizarding world.

It allowed the High claw Group to make a strong entry and quickly establish itself.

The influx of funds also led Hogwarts' current headmaster, Armando Dippet, to nominate the High claw Group to the Hogwarts Board of Trustees.

Garfield's term at Hogwarts as a trustee and morality teacher would depend on his own time commitment.

It could be one or two years, or it could be only a few months.

While serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Magic, Dumbledore also continued to hold the position of Professor of Transfiguration at Hogwarts.

Slughorn was the Potions Professor. Garfield only recognized McGonagall.

Garfield didn't need to ride the old fashioned red Hogwarts train.

But wanting to experience the feeling of going to school, he went to Platform Nine and Three Quarters at King's Cross Station.

Beside the platform, several Muggle born young wizards and their parents stared blankly at the barrier. They were completely bewildered.

"What do we do?" "How do we get across?"

"The professor seems to have told me about it." "But I forgot."

"Me too. I was too excited." "Oh my god, what do we do?"

At this moment, Garfield walked up to the group of children. He easily leaped onto one of the Muggle children's suitcases.

Looking up, he said, "Kids, don't know how to get to the platform, right?" "Oh my god, a talking cat."

"Do cats in the wizarding world talk?" "That's incredible."

A little kid reached out to hug him. But Garfield swatted the child's hand away with a single paw.

"Shut up. I'm your moral education professor. Now listen to me attentively. See the signs for nine and ten?"

The children nodded.

"Yes, we see them." "That wall is enchanted. You just need to walk right through it."

With Garfield's guidance, the young wizards successfully boarded the little train to Hogwarts.
