(At the Mountain Peak)
I stand at the edge of the freezing mountain peak, the biting wind whipping past my face.
I look down, my breath catching in my throat. From way up here, the clouds part just enough to reveal the entire, sprawling Eryndor Empire below. It is absolutely massive. Glittering cities, sprawling trade routes, and towering magical spires stretch as far as the eye can see. Damn. I'm genuinely awestruck. This is an incredibly rich, overwhelmingly powerful empire.
Shaking myself out of the sightseeing, I slip right back into my old Geography major mindset. I tilt my head back, squinting against the harsh glare to calculate the exact angle of the sun's trajectory at this altitude. Then, I look down at the dark, frost-covered soil crunching under my heavy leather boots.
Yup. Boots!
Getting up here was an absolute masterpiece of an under-cover mission. Kael completely proved his worth as the Empire's greatest asset.
