Chapter 109 - Contact with Killua and Gon

"You may proceed to the fiftieth floor," the referee said to Hyuga Arin.

Hyuga Arin glanced toward another ring. A burly man was sent flying, while Gon stood on the platform, staring at his own hand.

"Alright," Hyuga Arin replied casually.

He also noticed Killua ending his match with a single hand chop.

But his gaze soon shifted to another flat-haired boy in a martial arts uniform.

Zushi—Wing's disciple.

If Zushi was competing here…

Hyuga Arin looked toward the spectator seats and spotted Wing watching the match. Wing sensed Hyuga Arin's gaze and offered him a gentle smile.

Those with Nen were extremely sensitive to being watched.

Hyuga Arin nodded back and stepped off the ring.

Inside the elevator heading to the 50th floor, Hyuga Arin ran into Killua, Gon, and Wing.

They were the only four who had gone straight from the first floor to the fiftieth.

After a brief thought, Hyuga Arin raised a hand in greeting.

"Yo. Gon, Killua. We meet again."

"Hey, isn't that kind of greeting way too weird?" Killua said, arms relaxed but clearly ready to strike at any moment.

"It's you!" Gon suddenly realized. "Number 88—Hyuga Arin."

Killua's eyes widened as he pointed at Hyuga Arin.

"No way! How could this guy be Number 88? His height and build are totally different! And those eyes—he's a completely different person!"

Gon scratched his head in confusion.

"But… the feeling he gives me is the same."

He couldn't understand why two people who looked completely different felt like the same person.

Hyuga Arin formed a single hand seal.

Poof.

Smoke burst out, and he reverted to Muyi's appearance.

"How about now?"

Killua stared at him, dumbfounded.

"What kind of ability is that?"

Gon suddenly understood, while Zushi looked at Hyuga Arin in shock.

"Nen," Hyuga Arin said, suddenly turning to Zushi. "You're training it, right?"

"Nen?" Gon and Killua both looked confused. They had never heard that power's name before, though Killua had encountered it many times.

Zushi was startled, but still nodded.

"Yes… I'm training Nen."

Poof.

Hyuga Arin transformed back to his original appearance and pointed at his face.

"This is what I really look like. Remember it."

He didn't care much about exposing himself. There was no Hyuga clan in this world, so it didn't matter.

If his eyes attracted black market attention, he'd actually welcome it.

Experience was experience, no matter who it came from.

"Is that a ninja ability? Can Hanzo do it too?" Gon asked curiously.

For examinees of their batch, the ninja identities of Hanzo and Hyuga Arin were no secret.

"This is Nen," Hyuga Arin repeated.

"It's a power everyone can learn."

"And it's something you'll all have to master in the future."

Ding.

The elevator arrived at the fiftieth floor.

"See you around," Hyuga Arin said, waving casually as he stepped out first.

After Hyuga Arin left, Killua's smile vanished.

He turned to Zushi and said quietly, "That guy's after you. Be careful."

Hyuga Arin had shown no interest in Gon or Killua before. This sudden approach wasn't for them.

Killua's instincts were sharp. Even if he didn't know Hyuga Arin's exact goal, he didn't want to get dragged into it.

"Huh?" Zushi looked completely lost.

Killua pulled the equally confused Gon out of the elevator.

Giving a warning was the most he was willing to do.

He had no intention of clashing with that guy.

Hyuga Arin reminded him too much of his brother Illumi.

Dangerous.

Hyuga Arin didn't care that his intentions were obvious.

His goal had simply been to lay the groundwork for contacting Wing.

After collecting his winnings, he continued fighting.

On the fiftieth floor, he didn't encounter the three again.

Sixtieth floor.

Seventieth floor.

Eightieth floor.

One hundredth floor.

"Vanishing Hyuga Arin, Hand-Chop Killua, and Push-Hand Gon—three contestants have achieved six consecutive victories! Who can stop them?!"

The announcer's voice echoed through the arena.

Hyuga Arin hooked a finger into his ear.

He didn't feel excited—just annoyed.

During this stretch, he gained a total of:

[EXP +184]

So little it felt embarrassing.

After seeing five-figure experience gains, Hyuga Arin couldn't help but look down on this amount.

As for the nickname Vanishing Hyuga Arin, it was simply because no one could see his movements.

He ended matches by striking pressure points to knock opponents unconscious.

The Hyuga clan's Gentle Fist was meant to disrupt chakra flow, but knocking someone out without chakra was just as easy.

Once he passed the hundredth floor, the rewards changed.

The arena also began providing rooms.

One hundred and tenth floor.

"Today's match will be unprecedented! Two genius youths collide!"

"Hand-Chop Killua vs. Vanishing Hyuga Arin!!!"

Hyuga Arin, who had been sitting listlessly in the audience, instantly perked up.

"Killua?" He stroked his chin.

"Both fighters, please enter the arena!"

As the announcement rang out, Hyuga Arin leapt down from the stands.

Beyond the hundredth floor, even the arena layout had changed—only a single massive ring remained, and the audience was much larger.

Cheers roared endlessly. The atmosphere was electric.

Hyuga Arin stepped onto the ring. Killua was already in a combat stance, his earlier casual demeanor completely gone.

"Damn it… I planned to chop my way straight to the 200th floor. Why did I have to run into this guy?"

His danger sense made his body tremble.

This opponent wasn't like those people with strange powers—ones who triggered an instinctive urge to flee only when they activated something.

Hyuga Arin was terrifying just standing there.

Killua faintly smelled thick bloodshed.

Hyuga Arin, by contrast, looked relaxed, standing naturally.

"Yo, Killua," he greeted cheerfully.

Killua reacted as if shocked, instantly retreating to the edge of the ring.

Hyuga Arin rubbed his chin as he looked at him.

He remembered that Killua always chose to flee when facing overwhelming foes—not entirely by choice, but because Illumi had done something to him.

"Relax. I won't use Nen," Hyuga Arin said calmly.

"Just a straight exchange. Let me see the Zoldyck family's assassination techniques."

He wasn't expecting much experience from Killua.

He was simply curious about this world's taijutsu.

Killua took a deep breath, suppressing the fear in his chest.

If the opponent didn't use that thing called Nen, he still believed he had a chance.

The referee glanced at both of them, raised his hand—and brought it down sharply.

"Match start!"
