By the time they reached the entrance, Freya suddenly stopped and grabbed his wrist.
"Thank you for today," she said softly. "I don't know what I would've done without you."
"Don't mention it." Gideon smiled. "Just don't try running away again."
She laughed awkwardly and nodded. "I won't. I'll apologize to Mom... properly this time."
Before he could reply, Freya stood on her tiptoes and quickly kissed his lips.
The kiss lasted no more than a heartbeat. Her face instantly turned bright red.
"I-I'll go now!"
She hurried into the house and disappeared toward Delilah's room, leaving Gideon chuckling to himself.
