Delilah's eyes widened, heat quickly rising to her cheeks. She pinched his arm, making Gideon flinch.
"Ugh, stop competing with him!"
"Why can't I?" he shot back without hesitation. "You know I get jealous easily. Just imagining you doing that kind of thing with a useless man pisses me off."
His bluntness left her at a loss for words, yet a small, involuntary warmth bloomed in her chest.
"He isn't here anymore. You don't have to worry about it." She frowned slightly. "I know I had terrible taste in men before, but he wasn't that asshole when we started, so— Aah!"
Her words cut off into a gasp when Gideon suddenly pinched her nipple. Her body trembled again, sensitive and helpless in that spot.
"I'm easily jealous." His voice dropped. "I don't care about your past. I just want to win against him."
