Chapter 14 - Chapter 14. I wish it was a dream

He let the remaining water he had that was the amount of a bucket much conjured to water droplets and then he turned to face Zaril'n.

" So you can speak after all?" Xavier hissed to himself, though he knew the truth he wished everything was but a horrible nightmare.

" I can. I did yesterday too," Zaril'n answered looking up at the boy though he felt uneasy.

" Isn't that right," Xavier responded as he lowered his eyes a bit staring at Zaril'n. He also didn't like the response he was given as it sounded like the boy was being sarcastic.

Xavier folded his arms his attention solely on Zaril'n.

Maybe he should just kill him, he wasn't here for that long so he doubt the other children would feel that bad if he were to go missing.

Sure they would remember, but Xavier thought he could teach them about Blessed Gifts and then they would forget about this Zaril'n in no time.

Listening to Zaril'n closer now Xavier realized that the boy was very fluent in their language yes, but his accent was a bit off. If he didn't know about his origin already Xavier thought he would have believe he was from a different kingdom or continent, either that or he had parents that made him study multiple languages.

Xavier thought of multiple reasons, the boy could be of royal blood, or maybe his father was a merchant of some sort. Or possibly he could be a NoMid. But no out of all the reasons, all the normal reasons, the boy was instead a Demon from Hell.

A very remarkable unusual demon at that.

" How old are you?"

" How old?"

" Are you from a tribe?" Xavier kept asking questions where he was given no answers to. He was growing frustrated.

Zaril'n wasn't staying quiet to spite him, it was more like Xavier wasn't giving him enough time to understand and respond.

" I hope you're not here to cause trouble," Xavier said stepping closer. " Cause if you do I'll deal with you personally," Xavier warned.

Water trailed from his finger tips forming into a chain that laced around Zaril'n's neck. He was struck with fear and did not move.

The water was cold around his neck as it rested on his skin, the wind had suddenly gone still. There was nothing Zaril'n could do but stare into Xavier firm and stain filled eyes. Something thumbed in his chest that made him shiver and hold his breath. Zaril'n wanted to know what that feeling was and what it meant.

" For now I'll stay quiet, but I still don't and will never trust a demon," Xavier snared.

Xavier moved back to attend to the crops and the water chain around Zaril'n's neck no longer had a firm form as it fell getting him wet.

Zaril'n watched as Xavier attended to multiple patch of plants and after an hour he went to teach the other children to use their Divine gifts. The children were in awe, even Zaril'n too as he could not hold himself back.

Xavier displayed his gift using fire balls, cutting himself before healing his wounds and making the earth tremble beneath them.

None of the children shifted their gaze their eyes were solely on Xavier, some of them started crying from eye burn as they refused to blink. Zaril'n too was thrilled, sure he had seen his amount of power usage, but seeing it as a human from a human felt more joyous.

As time went by the children remained happy, Father was usually out so Zaril'n didn't get to see him a lot, but as Xavier was the overseer everything went well, he was very responsible and smart for his age.

The next day at mid evening all the children were gathered sitting on the ground under a tree. A little boy had went to get Zaril'n who couldn't help but wonder why everyone was under the tree.

" Let's get this over with. We need to get your information and give you a name,"

" A human name?" Zaril'n half muttered.

" Xavier was right he really can talk!" a girl blurted.

" He sounds handsome," another girl exhaled in a weak awe.

" How can he sound handsome?" a boy asked his eye brow high up in a knot.

Before a argument could escalate Xavier cleared his throat getting their attention back to the matter at hand.

" Yes, we can't keep calling you the boy," Xavier started again.

" Or new guy,"

Everyone giggled.

" Let's start. Do you know what you want to be called?" Asked Xavier uninterested.

" Humans give themselves names, I thought parents do that," Zaril'n said, at least that's what he'd heard from Ehzia.

"And your parent are?"

Zaril'n opened his mouth to speak, before he could even exhaled his lips found eachother back to silence.

'That's right only Xavier knows I'm a demon,' Zaril'n then felt as his body shivered involuntarily.

The children noticed Zaril'n down casted expression and they could only think Xavier was being too harsh.

Xavier read the room easily, with a sigh and an avoiding gaze he apologized. A few of the children giggled under their breaths knowing how he hates to apologize.

"Got a name yet boy?" Xavier continued.

Zaril'n shook his head, he had never thought to give himself a human name before. Maybe he could use Ehzia's name, but he quit ignored the thought as he could use the man's name.

" Figures. Now let's all give suggestions," Xavier told the children.

Ten minutes straight they kept suggesting names. They suggested Peter, Mark, Lukas, Luke, John, Jonny, Michael, Alexander, Brown, White, Red, Cooper, Jayson, Jay, K, L, Omar.

Everyone laughed as they soon started to call letters, stars, streets, animals or random objects. At times when Zaril'n was going to agree Xavier had to tell him what he was getting himself named which made it funnier.

After one hour of laughter Zaril'n decided his name.

" I would like to be called Zaris," He suggested, he didn't want to use his demon name, but he liked it none the less, instead he changed the pronunciation pressing on the 'S' a bit.

" Okay I guess. So your name is Zaris Mayiz of God,"
