Dust poured through the gaps between the fallen slab and the side walls. I rolled onto my stomach, planted my left palm on the stone floor, and pushed myself up. My left shoulder throbbed where the elbow hit me, but my collarbone remained intact. I checked my health bar while wiping grimy dust from my mouth.

On the other side of the stone slab, the metal tip of Anubis's scythe scraped across the floor as he adjusted his grip. He slammed his shoulder into the fallen rock. The thick basalt groaned under the impact, a small crack spreading down its middle, but the barrier held for the moment.
I turned away from the noise and headed deeper into the passage. The corridor opened into a vast underground chamber lined with square stone columns.
