Raye looked at who shot the child and saw Will from above. He then descended and walked towards the dead child.
"What's that for?!"
"That's no child,"
"What?"
"That's a demon,"
Raye looked at the child but it looks normal.
"What do you mean? He looks like a child?"
"I've been with demons for centuries, I know what a demon is,"
Will then kicked the child's dead body, budging it.
"You're alive,"
"..."
No response from the child.
"Maybe you're wrong Will, maybe he's a chil-"
"Looks can be deceiving,"
Will placed his right foot on the dead child's head and tries to stomp it but the dead body grabbed his legs and tries to swing him but Will didn't budge and stomped on the child's head. Blood covers the ground as Will removes his leg and walked back. Raye looked at the dead demon child but turns his head away.
"H-how did you know he's a demon?"
"Through their malicious intent, I'm more surprised that you can't sense it,"
"Speaking about it, I do sense malicious intent even after the demon died, I thought it was Will's"
Al thought about it as Will just stares him down.
"Demon are complex beings, there are two types of demons in our world, and they differs from each other a lot,"
"One kind of demons is that they are like human, they have immense strength or mana, they are known for their youth even after hundreds of years and can speak through telepathy and the wind, they could live up until 500 years,"
"And the other kinds of demons are the demons that we all know, the demon for their malicious intents, the demon that look like human but actually aren't, they could disguise themselves among human and slaughter whatever or whenever they like, killing are basically entertainment to them, there isn't a reason for them to,"
"Well what if the demon isn't evil?"
"There is no such things as demons aren't evil, they are inherently evil and it's their nature, it would be impossible to find a demon that's actually good, they find joy in killing and are bloodlust for it, though there are some demons who aren't like this such as the Demon King,"
The Everlight was surprised to heard that the Demon King who was dead for 3000 years wasn't evil.
"Don't twist my words, I didn't say the Demon King isn't evil, but he isn't like the others, there are other demons who were like him too, but in the end, a demon is a demon,"
Will then returned to the town followed by the other Everlight's members.
"Oh, you're back! I supposed you had remove those demons,"
"Yes,"
"Here's the reward as told,"
Raye reached out his hands to accept the reward and opened the sack of copper coins. He looked at it just to tighten it again and keep it.
"We're glad to help,"
The next day, they decided to leave the town and continue their journey. The Everlight were still in shock of what Will did to that child even if it was a demon.
"Don't be shocked, we will encounter this more later on,"
They continue to walk through the forest and found a few more dead bodies lying on the ground. They decided to bury the dead bodies and Al prayed for them. They continued walking and saw a broken merchant caravan and decides to find if there are any survivors there. They were all dead which Al buries them again and prayed for them. At the meantime, Will decided to loot some items since it would be a waste for them not to. They found some breads and biscuits which are extra food supplies for the Everlight party and some potions and elixirs that help replenish mana and strength.
"These are nice items,"
Will decided to store it in a bag that he found in the caravan and stored it inside his shadow. After an hour of walking, they have finally exited the forest and arrived at a mountain range area.
