Ren remained sitting against the door of his room, his heart still racing. He didn't know what to think anymore. His family… his brother… everything seemed so close, yet so distant at the same time.
After a few minutes, he slowly stood up. His body was still weak, his legs trembling. He leaned on the railing and descended the stairs slowly.
In the hall, the servants looked at him, worried.
— Young master… would you like me to bring you something to eat? asked the butler timidly.
Ren shook his head. He just wanted to be alone.
He headed toward the large library, entered, and lay down on the sofa. Then Lilou appeared in a flash of light, floating just in front of him.
— Ren, are you okay? asked the little boy with a smile.
Ren sighed and lowered his eyes.
— I… I want you to find another way to earn me points.
Lilou nodded.
— Another… way…?
Ren gave a small smile. He clenched his fists and said:
— Don't try to pretend if you don't want me to kill myself!
Surprised, Lilou replied:
— Ah! But what are you talking about?! How can you…
Ren closed his eyes and murmured:
— If you know what's good for you, then do as I said.
Then Lilou disappeared in a small flash of light without saying a word, knowing it was too much to ask, but Lilou deserved it. It was his fault Ren had ended up in this strange new world without even realizing it. Ren fell asleep in the library, truly exhausted.
In his sleep, his dreams were confused. Sometimes he relived fragments of his past life, sometimes blurred images of Elijah's body.
A slight shiver ran through his body. He turned onto his side, drool on his mouth.
When he opened his eyes, he felt something he hadn't felt in a long time: a gentle calm... He felt the drool on his mouth and quickly wiped it, his face was bright red.
He slowly sat up, running a hand through his white hair, and murmured to himself:
— Alright… I'm getting tired. I didn't even want a new life. I would've preferred… to go back to the past to… no…
Ren could no longer find words to express his frustration. A heavy weight pressed on his heart, and his mind had become dark, filled only with thoughts of death.
Ren stood up slowly.
— No matter which world I go to, will I have the same family over and over again?
— Lilou…! he shouted, his voice trembling.
A small flash of light appeared in front of him, and Lilou floated gently in the air.
— Yes, it's me! he said cheerfully. Why are you calling me?
Ren clenched his fists :*What's the point of always having that disgusting smile?*
— I… I don't want to stay here anymore. I want to leave. I can't… I can't live in this world. Tears ran down the sides of his face.
Lilou frowned.
— Leave? You mean you want to go back to your old world? Or you just want to run away?
— It doesn't matter! I don't want this life anymore! I… I want out!
The little boy smiled, a little mischievous, but this time serious:
— Alright… but you know it won't be easy. You can change worlds, but you can't go back to your old one.
Ren took a deep breath, his heart racing.
— I don't want to know. I want to go somewhere I won't suffer.
Lilou nodded.
— Very well… then I'll show you how. But you'll have to be brave. Very brave.
A light wind swept through the room, and Ren felt a strange energy flow through his fragile body.
— I certainly hope so !
