Following Mr. Zahir's instructions, Marcus entered his real personal information and passwords before going through one verification after another: fingerprints, DNA, retinal scan, voice print. Every security measure they had was thrown at him, leaving no room for mistakes. By the time the final scan finished, nearly ten minutes had passed.
Mr. Zahir looked up from the terminal. "Mr. Marcus, your sequence number has already been randomly generated. The only thing left is your virtual identity. You can either let the system generate a name automatically or choose one yourself. Which would you prefer?"
Choosing it himself was an easy decision.
Marcus thought for a few seconds before answering, "Let's go with Marcus Storm."
Mr. Zahir gave him an apologetic smile and shook his head. "I'm sorry, Mr. Marcus, but your virtual identity has to be clearly distinguishable from your real one. Your first or last name can't be identical to the ones on your legal identity."
