Rai answered calmly, putting the detergent bottle back onto the shelf before grabbing another scented one and tossing it into the cart without much thought. The wheels squeaked softly as he pushed the cart past Lia, only for her to turn around immediately and stare at him.
It wasn't like Rai was lying.
He was literally telling the truth.
"I see…"
Rai heard Teacher Lia mutter quietly, disappointment obvious in her voice despite how much she tried to hide it.
But then she spoke again.
"Since you're free now… what about grabbing lunch together? If you can, of course."
Though she added the last part quickly, her tone didn't sound like she meant it at all.
Rai sighed internally.
He was already preparing to reject her politely and escape before things became awkward,
