"What time is it?"
Rory reached for her optical computer by the pillow and glanced at it. Her eyes instantly went wide.
"It's almost eleven o'clock! And you're telling me it's 'still early'?"
She was supposed to attend the Festival of All Females today. Lola was coming to fetch her after lunch.
Vangar took the optical computer out of Rory's hand and pulled her back into his embrace.
"Jasper and the others haven't finished making lunch yet. Sleep a little more. When lunch is ready, I'll carry you downstairs."
"I promise you won't be late for the Festival of All Females."
Since they had tossed and turned until too late last night, Vangar was genuinely worried Rory hadn't had enough sleep. What if she got sleepy when she was out playing in the afternoon? Knowing her, she wouldn't want to come back then.
Rory glared at him. "It's all your fault. I clearly told you to stop."
Vangar suppressed a laugh and quickly admitted his mistake.
